Your passion for riding that little cc bike is addicting. It adds such a great amount of realism to those who cannot afford or ride a full sized ADV bike. It's more about fortitude rather than size. There are a lot of "monkey" videos doing similar rides. I applaud them all. Thanks. Happy New Year!1
It's so much fun to "ride" with you through Arizona, Stirling. I also like your low-key style - some other RUclipsrs have to be in the foreground all the time. With you it's all about the ride. Happy New Year, Günter/Nürnberg
@JimAppleby I love Sterling but why would anyone keep all their gear out in the weather like that I wonder was more of the point. Love the set up but feel it should be indoors
Really tough little Honda, have you beefed up the rear suspension to cope with the weight of the panniers? I’m guessing this Honda travels much more ‘off road’ than the majority of BM’s! Great watch with a mid- morning coffee after walking Dave (Golden Retriever) in the pouring rain🌧️🌧️🌧️ in Cambridge UK 🇬🇧
Mt. Lemon is a great ride. Used to do that a lot as a kid. The road used to be rated in the top 10 most dangerous roads in Arizona. If you recall the movie, Wraith. Part of it was filmed on Mount Lemon. Actually, my biker friends and I were making a run- up Mt Lemon road and saw a lowboy hauler moving the prop cars up the pass. Reddington is also beautiful. I've seen a Gila Monster sunning itself on that road. And while I stopped taking a photo of the pass, I was surprised to see a snake hiding just off the road!
Enjoyed with an espresso from Old Bisbee Roaster today! Your ability to weave narrative, music, history and education, drone, fpv camera, photography is really remarkable! What a really fun route! One of my favorites. You arent kidding. Those action cams flatten it. Its steep!
Great Video Sterling. Really like your new bike shop. Really important to have your kit supplies organized and at the ready. Thanks for sharing another great ride.
I drove up to the top of Mt Lemon in June 2020. It was 110 degrees in Tucson and dropped to the mid 70’s at the top of the mountain. The local college offerred a real informative commentary of the area on a AM radio channel. Great place to see.
Love that area. Used to work a big perimeter around Benson and Tucson. We used to race MZ 600's up the road from Tucson. The fellows, Marty, and gang from Iron Horse BMW. We had a hoot. Small bike , wring it out. It felt great to cool off. It would be in the 120's in Coolidge. Great ride. There's plenty more. Twist the grip. 330 some miles, three gallons? All good from east KY USA. The old Dessert Dog. Next time.
Come on, Sterling...that can't be adventure motorcycling without your 500-pound GS and $30K in gear! Kidding of course... I love that you're exploring your minimalist roots again. And, thanks for sharing your love of Arizona. We're blessed to be in a state with so much variety.
Right on! I've seen you in town riding that bike a few times, good to see it out adventuring. They're cool little bikes, i've got a vintage 90 and 110 in the shop right now to restore, and i'm working on my '74 Suzuki TS125 resto-mod. I've been wanting a smaller, simpler and more minimal adventure bike than my 650 for a while now. And yeah, this area is awesome. I never really get as far as Tucson because there's just so much stuff to ride right here.
Had I known you were going into Tucson, I’d have recommended you hit Casa Molina for a meal. It’s been there forever; my folks started eating there in the 1950s before I was born. The food is still great and I try to hit it whenever I’m in Tucson. The Tucson location is the del Norte location; their other location was out on Speedway on the east side of town, which I think is now closed. And the original Casa Molina was down in Nogales - used to hit that one with the beautiful lady who is now my wife of 41 years, with her riding pillion. Dad loved both the paved and unpaved roads up the mountain. Mom, who was afraid of heights, not so much. But she was game! Thanks for stirring up some great memories, Sterling! 🥰
I wish you all the luck and success you deserve for putting so much effort and professionalism into what you do. You should have your run with Discovery Channel; I just think it's fair. Congrats.
Snowed in here today and I was hoping for a Motorcycle Travel Channel video... and here it is! Thank you! I love your new moto camping organization. It's great that you can have so much stored where you can see it instead of digging in boxes looking for stuff. 0:28 - Looks like you need a transfiller adapter to combine all of those isobutane canisters. I use an alcohol stove to make it easier to refuel on the road (yellow bottle HEET fuel additive is cheap bethyl alcohol and is readily available) so I don't contend with partially full fuel canisters. Dad had his primary flight training as an air cadet in the late 1950's at Marana Air Base, now Pinal Airpark, near Mount Lemmon. I always wanted to visit the area and this trip looks excellent. Thanks to your videos, well over half of the places I want to see on my upcoming Wild West Moto Camping Trip are in the beautiful state of Arizona.
@@SterlingNoren - I did buy a titanium pot support that is designed for the Trangia style alcohol stoves. It's three pieces of titanium plate that slot together to make a triangular pot support that is larger and far more stable than the little round aluminum pot support that shipped with the $13 alcohol stove. I made 3D printed leg extenders to raise the pot support enough that I could more easily access the stove so I could adjust the heat output or snuff out the stove when finished cooking. In addition to the convenience of being able to buy yellow HEET fuel additive as fuel at every convenience store, auto parts store and half of the grocery stores, I also appreciate the silent operation, the reliability of no moving parts, and the relatively low heat output that is more conducive to cooking in the wild without burning everything in a thin bottom pan. Most modern camp stoves are rocket engines. Most are too hot even at the lowest simmer setting. The alcohol stove is more conducive to cooking as opposed to quickly boiling water for a bag of freeze dried disappointment. Probably the biggest disadvantage is alcohol's low vapor pressure, so an alcohol stove doesn't work well in cold conditions, but I seldom moto camp below freezing. I like to cook real food when moto camping, so my cook kit is relatively large. I carry a 2.9 liter Boundless Voyage titanium pot. The stove and all cooking supplies pack inside so my cook kit, while large, is self contained. I just bought a ceramic coated nonstick anodized aluminum MSR frying pan that the pot nests into when packing so it doesn't use much more space.
You make me want to move back to Tucson after 14 years in SWCO. Don’t think I’ll move but visiting is always on my “places to go” list! We met you and Eva last spring/April at your hotel and the ‘Desert Adventure Rally’. We were back in AZ for a short time and loved being back in AZ. Always look forward to your content videos! 20:38
Thanks, Sterling! Beautiful camera angles and editing during your rides. About what percentage of your travel time is devoted to stopping and setting up your cameras for the drive past shots that you do? It must be time consuming but great work! 🇨🇦
My backyard is pretty spectacular!! You showcased it well. This was only a portion of the options out there. I share this area whenever I get the opportunity.
Wow awesome scenery riding through the mountains and the camping spots looks nice. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Arizona with us. Keep safe and God Bless. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa.
Next time you do the reddington road use a more capable dirt bike and take the chiva falls trail. It’s probably one of the most popular and scenic trails in az. It will take you to a 80 foot waterfall. It’s spectacular!
Great Video. Love the shop. Nice to meet you and Eva at Dot’s. We are booked for Bisbee again next year maybe we will run into you again. Keep up the great content.
i d like to ride from sierra vista a.z. tru benson cascabel rd on my kawasaki klx 230 dual sport with 1 and half gallon or 2 of extra gas ? on canisters . to tucson and back the same way . the i 10 on my 230 klx not possible ? i been up to mt lemmon on my bigger bikes 650 kawasaki vulcan s and piaggio mp3 500 vespa style 3 wheel scooter tru tucson from sierra vista a.z on the sonoita a.z. state rd . but never tru this back dirt road .ride safe .
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. The Catalina Hwy used to be awesome, but now it's overrun with tourists, bicyclists, & various other rolling road blocks. 191 is still my favorite AZ twisty road.
Come on man. What is it with this small motorcycle!?? I love your videos but it gets harder and harder to get inspired with this pathetic little bicycle. I think it’s time to go back to the GS. Really 😡
Driving/riding up and down the Mt. Lemmon road for 25 years...still not tired of it. ❤
Sterling is the man, no matter how you cut it. I am impressed by the little Honda.

Thanks, I’m glad you get it! I wanted to show people what is possible with a tiny relatively inexpensive motorcycle
I am putting this one in my book to ride ......thks beautiful ( thanks for the ride and location) its only -17C tonight. Alain & Yellow
The outdoor prep area is awesome! Great idea, and looks great.
Thanks so much! I really wanted to have a dedicated work space.
It's so much fun to "ride" with you through Arizona, Stirling. I also like your low-key style - some other RUclipsrs have to be in the foreground all the time. With you it's all about the ride. Happy New Year, Günter/Nürnberg
The lil bike that could, and did. Pretty impressive and capable bike. Thanks for taking us along.
You had me at "The Grandeur of The Vistas".
As usual, you’re showing us a great area of the southern states.
Would love to see a wider shot of the motorcycle shop
It looks like it's outside? 🤔
@loves2adv561 it is

I have not done any mods to the bike other than accessories. It does go off road pretty well within its limitations. Have a good walk with Dave !
Nice well thought out bike shop. Showing off your creativity at home and behind the camera. Well done, Sir Sterling

The Wraith is an AWESOME movie. Most people hate it....
It is a fun ride! It's awesome to hear stories about the history of the area, I'm still learning!
Great video Sterling!

A great ride, on a great little motorcycle. Can`t beat that!
Looks fun! It's snowmobile season where I live.
Great Video Sterling. Really like your new bike shop. Really important to have your kit supplies organized and at the ready. Thanks for sharing another great ride.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
That scenic byway really had amazing vistas. Great road!

Coolidge AZ, I have lots of family there. My mom was born there in 1930, by the prison Dr. since Coolidge didn’t have one at that time.
@sirdirtydog705 cotten gin town for many years.Lot of hard poor workers. Sure it's grown a lot of late. LA has moved east
@
Yep, hasn’t grown much in the 60 years I’ve been going there to visit. I still have family there that I visit or go to their funeral.
Great video. Must be nice to have an outdoor shop. That would not work well in MN over winter!🥶
You're right, that would be tough in the winter!
Great video. Thank you.

Very inspiring ride.
That’s great that you can have an outdoor storage area. I’m in Florida and it would not work with our humidity and weather. Awesome!
Epic shots, great work. We dig it.

Yeah I have a small Trangia stove that can use that fuel too. I haven't used it too much yet though. Sounds like you like it?

Thanks for bringing all of us along on this trip. I would think this could be a mini BDR for the area and keep us out of the heat and sand.
Thanks, Sterling! Beautiful camera angles and editing during your rides. About what percentage of your travel time is devoted to stopping and setting up your cameras for the drive past shots that you do? It must be time consuming but great work! 🇨🇦
Nice ride. One of my favorites.
You are living a bachelor's dream of freedom......Jesus himself would be proud of you!! Timmy C Arizona

Next time you're out on the Cascabel Road check out the Redington Canyon Cliff House off to the east of Redington. Pretty cool little adventure spot.

Thanks! It was great to meet you guys too!
leaving the driveway on my GS is an adventure.
Well done. Very cool video. I just ordered 2 Butler Maps with your discount code.
I might have missed it -- were you carrying auxiliary fuel? And yes, this was a real treat to see the possibilities. Many more in the years to come. 🛐
No extra fuel. About 160 mile range.
like your videos always watch
what kind of comments do you get on the 125?
Everybody always says that they had one when they were a kid
you get many scorpions in your out door closet?
i d like to ride from sierra vista a.z. tru benson cascabel rd on my kawasaki klx 230 dual sport with 1 and half gallon or 2 of extra gas ? on canisters . to tucson and back the same way . the i 10 on my 230 klx not possible ? i been up to mt lemmon on my bigger bikes 650 kawasaki vulcan s and piaggio mp3 500 vespa style 3 wheel scooter tru tucson from sierra vista a.z on the sonoita a.z. state rd . but never tru this back dirt road .ride safe .
Sterling, I think I'd like to challenge you on the claim that the Mt. Lemmon highway is the most beautiful, paved road in AZ. I'd rate US 151
Incorrectly cited. I meant to say us 191 between Morenci and Alpine Arizona
Yeah that's what I always thought too. But I actually think this road, while shorter, is even more beautiful in spots. Totally just my opinion!
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. The Catalina Hwy used to be awesome, but now it's overrun with tourists, bicyclists, & various other rolling road blocks. 191 is still my favorite AZ twisty road.
Have you tried 191 from Clifton to Alpine. The best paved motorcycle road in Az, if not the entire southwest.
Many times and it is definitely one of the best!
Know the area👍
How much fuel do you carry, most be a lot. Nice ride.
The tank holds 1.4 gallons and I get about 113 miles per gallon
Not this damn little bike again/still… 😂 thought you got the GS out again!?!
I wanna do a review on the bike, thought I needed to ride it first 😂
@ haha… okay, fine.
Come on man. What is it with this small motorcycle!?? I love your videos but it gets harder and harder to get inspired with this pathetic little bicycle. I think it’s time to go back to the GS. Really 😡
I hate that honda. Sorry
