- In Mozart's time, the Ottoman Empire still ruled Turkey (Anatolia). Their military bands, called Janissary bands, were quite popular, even in Europe. Mozart borrowed from their sound and rhythm to produce this work, which became one of the big hits of Mozart's day. Its popularity has rarely waned since then. The final movement of the sonata, Rondo Alla Turca, captures the military bands' brassy sound. In its whirling feel, it can evoke another aspect of Turkish culture which has captivated Westerners--the whirling motion of the Sufi dervishes as they perform their ancient ritual of peace and wholeness, though the Rondo whirls at light speed, in contrast to the gentle movement of the Mevlevi.

AHHH! This amazing burning question !!l l am not in total agreement with this. It depends on the piece, l think. 🤔 I wouldn’t be making this statement since l DO play both; & have done both grades. 🥳😆. The advantage of the piano is, you have a whole orchestra at your fingers. You read both clefs. And all the advantages you have. And the GREAT LEONARD BERNSTEIN said ‘ Classical music is the most perfect music’. TRUE. 👊🏾Yet the great SEGOVIA said ‘The piano 😆is a ‘ behemoth with teeth.’ I think it comes down to the piece, plus it’s easier to ‘drag’ a guitar around, than an acoustic piano.IT’S ALL GOOD!!! 😜🎸🎹🎼✨😃🎶🎵❤️
Some people cannot even do a barre chord on guitar.. please. The guitar is a harder instrument to master.

The first half of the piano isn't hard. The second half, however, will challenge your hand's width.

Eli wrong. It's much more difficult technically to play this classical on guitar than piano. I play both. I've played guitar for 11+ years, piano 5+. And I could never hope to do this on guitar like that so cleanly

@@tonchette7993 the E# appears as the leading tone in the F# major scale and as an accidental in the F# harmonic and melódic minor is also appear in B double harmonic and in a lot more of scales.

Bro this tab is actually amazing and I’m glad I got it, this is actually a piece that I wanted to learn and probably the first actual classical piece that I’m trying to manage to play and perform and so far it’s going really great. Indeed. Emre Sabuncuoglu might be the only person who has managed to play this piece without major mistakes, with a decent speed, recorded it and uploaded it on RUclips. Even Kanengisers version is rather sloppy and we are talking about Grammy winning classical guitarist here. He's not a bad player by any means.

I bought the sheet music because I was struggling with the piano version my son is learning, trying to translate that to guitar. I had a hard time with that, but once I started studying this arrangement, it began to make a whole lot more sense. It's been fun, thanks. Once I master this one I'll be back for more!

Asturias was meant to be played on guitar, this is written for a grand piano though.
@@murphvienna1 Asturias was originally piece for piano, but progression for that piece is very natural on guitar in E minor, but this, this is whole another level, 'cause I can play a little bit of Asturias, but this I can keep up only for few second A-C and E
