Whoever wore the maglia nera in the recent Giro. Would love to know the rider's thoughts and feelings. We've had tons of interviews with winners but none really from the ones who finished last. Edit: Just did a quick search and realized it's no longer a thing. Still would love to watch an interview with someone who finished last. I think it would be interesting
From my investigation, Alex finished 71st in stage 4 of the Tour de Yorkshire in 2018 while Tom came in at 90th. Does it count as a win? No. Did Alex beat Tom in a race? Yes, he did! 💪
Yeah man, they need to work for Sepp. Without him they don't win the other grand tours and what better show of team dominance than to have 3 different riders win grand tours in a season, plus Wout getting Tour of Britain. If they don't work for Sepp I'd be highly disappointed. Who knows if he'll get that chance again, he earned it.
We had a herd if cows (and one goat) follow us out from an open gate we passed in the Burren once. Decided to drive them back. Yes get big and spread arms wide - a long stick never hurts. Worked a treat. Except the goat - she looked at us like we were idiots.
These interviews might be a cool series. Specially the contest how to draw a bike. Having entire series with signatures as photos(?), or postcards, or something alike?
Tom Pidcock, greatest all round cyclist right now? He is amsolutely amazing and could easily be, but maybe it’s Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. 2022, Gravel, and XCC, and XCO, and MTB Marathon Rainbow Jersey all in one year, plus XCC and XCO world champ again in 2023. Plus, she has been world champion in Road and Cyclocross before. Okay Tom, has the Olympic gold which she’s missing so far, but watch out for Paris 2024. Either way though, Ineos Grenadiers have nailed it.
Thank you guys for reading my comment, Im a long time fan. That aside, dont let my mistake discourage anyone from doing the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder, because its five days of amazing and should be a bucket-list experience for everyone. I sincerely hope GCN sends a rider to take it on. Just bring a jacket.

Thanks for the HACK guys, the cushioning is on the end of the knee pad part. Has got me back on and recovering well. …Made you both feel a right t!t too 😂😂😂
So that on the app and gave it a hack! As someone who joined the collar bone club and sat staring at my trainer for months.. I wish I’d of thought up a way 😭 I just did short 1 handed rides with the sling on. Hope your recovery goes well! You definitely have tons of spirit to get back out there far more than most so you’ll probably come back kicking ass in no time!!
Si. To be honest I've never had any issue with Giant Grass Puppies. Even when I'm 1 metre from them. I just call then silly cows. Just like when I tell wasps to buzz off as they are trying to help me eat my full English breakfast with black pudding.
And it's not just Si has a problem with cows. Driving home over Corney Fell (English Lake District, single-track road with passing places) a few weeks ago I found a car stopped in the road, engine off. The driver and passenger were in the car with the windows closed despite it being a gorgeous day. What had stopped them was a few cows (actually young bullocks) stood in the road. These are put up on the fell to graze in summer, but unlike the sheep which mostly stay out of the way and off the road, they tend not to bother about the cars and stand their ground to honking horns. But all you have to do is get out of your car and go up and shout at them, even give them a slap on the rump and they'll amble amiably out of the way. I don't know how long this couple would have sat there waiting if I hadn't taken matters in hand.
Tarling and Evanopoel were born in different time zones too. Too hard for my brain, but someone needs to factor that in as well. And of course, that needs to be calculated relative to the time zone their respective wins were achieved in!
Not sure what's more ridiculous: Si's cow paranoia or Coner's confusion that cows are mountain lions. From my days of riding my new fangled mountain bike through my family's cattle ranch (1980s), not to mention just working in a herd of hundreds of cows, some quite unbowed; one needn't fear grass puppies as a general rule, and running from them is both unnecessary and highly unlikely to incite them to chase after you. If they were the violent buggers you city boys seem to think they are, the Union Jack cyclist in the video would have been mush under their churning hooves. Maybe you're thinking water buffalos or hippos? Still, love both the paranoia and confusion, makes for fun videos.
About the cattle video, please talk with Temple Grandin about this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Grandin Thanks. And I love "giant grass puppies." Really get her on your show. Thanks again. Love the show.
GCN Show, the time bender. Show starts and Connor's whach shows 16:02. By the time the show reaches hack/bodge part, the time is 15:20. About 15 minutes after the show ended, Connor should meet another Connor, who has just started the GCN Show.
Oh what a great show - I will publicise the beer/hydration strategy to the poor guy I advised that no-alcohol beers were the way to go for rehydration in hot climates (when he started fainting after long runs in hot humid conditions, followed by alcoholic beer). And Conor used the word 'shonky' which my colleagues (Cumbrians) don't recognise as a real (i.e. suitable for Scrabble scoring) despite it being, as far as I'm concerned, a good Yorkshire word. Glad to see it's known and used more widely - and the colleagues are wrong!
Re: Lauchlan Morton's ride, surely the fastest known time is irrespective of support, weather, equipment or anything? If anyone did a ride faster than anyone else is known to have done it then that makes it the fastest known time
FKT's are self supported. You can't have any visitation or outside support that wouldn't be available to any random rider on the course. He also didn't do the entire course due to wildfires.
@@Alvio64 No. Its effectively a giant ITT. Also I think you might have the wrong impression. Its not a real race in the sense of a managed event. There's no regulating body. Riding on a turbo trainer with a splinted broken arm is not so risky. But I injured myself again when I got off. The rotation of the forearm damaged one of the two titanium plates. 2 months after the first operation. A second operation was necessary. Sometimes it takes a little longer to heal 😖
The forearm broke after hitting an A-pillar of an oncoming car. The police estimated the impact speed at 50km/h. I had driven past 2 parked cars on a narrow road and the oncoming driver was blinded by the sun. He drove about 40. Thanks to Helm I can write something here. The first surgery was an hour after the accident. I stayed in the hospital in Germany for another 2 weeks. Take good care of yourselves.😉
Who should we interview next? 🎙
Wout won aert
Volt Van Art
Tadej Pogačar seems a really fun guy to interview.

Tom needs to pop over to Sheffield this coming Saturday and race MTB DH at Steel City. From what I've heard of his training at Caersws he'd do well!
If GCN can persuaded Hank to do the Tour Divide. I think he may struggle slightly with the new record time.
