Give her the Emmy she deserves
She deserves one now if not yesterday
Idk about an Emmy. She’s definitely the best part of the show but the show isn’t that good. Kinda boring. That aside tho what is she really being for an Oscar. She’s not showing out like her scarlet witch era
Exactly! I agree with that! ✋️
:(
Lizzie is the only MCU actor I can see dramatic acting growth she is awesome. She deserves an Emmy
Scarlett Johanson in Marriage story is awesome
@@Kel_po well that’s scarlett. she’s long proven herself.
I knew from the first moment that this series was going to be a big success. HBO and Elizabeth Olsen? You got me!
Technically not an HBO show
@@MichaelManor-pe2fy Are you referring to when it’s called Max?
@@faccezitCroc Regardless of the steaming service name, it's not an HBO produced show whatsoever. It was just acquired by their parent company WBD.
@@faccezitCroc Nope, because those are Netflix originals and were created specifically for the Netflix platform.
I love Elizabeth Olsen her talent is so raw
This is actually the THIRD time this crime case has been turned into a TV series/movie. The first was in 1990, "A Killing In A Small Town" with Barbara Hershey (Beaches) in the title role delivering an Emmy Award and Golden Globe winning performance. That murder scene was so intense and hard to watch it's stuck with me some 20+ years later. I have not yet seen either of the two newer versions. It's amazing to me that this single crime keeps getting depicted and adapted.
That last sentence is my sentiments as well. I know the case, but still surprised how often it gets adapted.
Maybe because I’m just use to insane cases like Gypsy Rose, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc. that something like this makes me scratch my head as to what the appeal is to warrant so many depictions.
I know her as playing problematic moms Cora on Once Upon a Time and Black Swan. It’s one thing to adapt it from years ago but the same case in two movies in a year is a little to much lol
Elizabeth acting growth has been impeccable. She needs an Emmy & and Oscar!! I'm excited to see this.
Anyone else old enough to remember when Grace didn’t do TV reviews. This is awesome! 😄 keep up the hard work 🙌🏽
I've always wanted her to review sense8 and DARK, lol.
I was following Elizabeth Olsen prior to her Wanda debut and I loved her indie films, she really worked hard to prove herself as an actor and brings her theatre talents through! She’s an absolute star! 🤓👏🏼
This was filmed in my city. I am so excited to see this. She is such a nice person when I got to meet her in public. I will support anything she does.
I've watched Multiverse of Madness 6 times just cuz her performance made me weep every time! I thought WandaVision was great too, so I guess I'm a Stan 🤷🏾♂️ can't wait to see this one now!
Me too for her
The Nicole Kidman comparisons actually make so much sense. Someone who is known for mainstream work but actually has a great and varried depth to their performances.
yes i can totally see it. I agree that Kidman tends to be more stilted but I like that about her, Olsen's parts won't be complicated by an australian accent
As an Olson stan, will be promptly seated for this every Thursday.
Her best performance is in 'Martha Marcia May Marlene' (2011). That's where I've fallen in love for her. Her best movie? 'Wind River' with Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner, who gives a career best performance. Sadly, the movie did not survive because it was released during Havey Weinstein scandal, it was the last thing he produced. I strongly recommend this movie to everyone! When it comes to 'Martha', either you love it or hate, I loved it and that ending was perfect.
Right on both. Mmmm was her first movie I think as well! I loved wind river
I agree, after watching Wind River when it first came out, I was telling everyone to go watch it. It's so good. The last 30 minutes I was on the edge of my seat
@@nicholaswaters4950 an awards campaign was being built, deservedly so. I honestly think both of them would get nominations. What a horrible timing.
Grace Ive been a extra in a lot of tv shows and this is the first one you’ve reviewed. I knew it would eventually happen.❤
were you ever around elizabeth? if so do you have any anecdotes?
Which episode?
@@dgchvz no idea they filmed out of order. It’s a hotel scene tho he is on the phone. I’m the only bald black guy so you should see me walking around.
@@Raymondcurryjr so exciting!
@@dgchvz yes can’t wait
People have always been interested in Nicole Kidman's red carpet looks. She's tall and statuesque so designers love to dress her. It kept her at the forefront of fashion news.
I’m so excited for Elizabeth Olsen. I’ll support anything he does! Jesse Plemons is great too. I’ve loved him since Game Night. Can’t wait to watch!
Wow Elizabeth Olsen acting keeps getting better and better I hope and exited to see more of her in the future
I can't wait to see Love and Death! Elizabeth Olson is definitely one of my top favorite actors.
i’m so happy for Lizzie. Her early work really would made me think projects like this is what she would have been doing. So happy that she’s found a project to bring her back to this type of work
The hulu one highlights candy and her victims friendship. They were close friends which is why it was so messed up candy had an affair with her husband. Love and death makes it seem like they were just acquaintances that happened to go to the same church.
If i remeber correctly Love and Death started filming before Candy got announced, which is sad as it will be compared to it for its entire run.
"I agree with most of you, that, Gal Gadot can not act." Facts.
Tom Pelphrey and Antony Starr both were in the HBO series "Banshee" as the main characters. They were both phenomenal in that show!🔥
What a wonderful feeling to wake ☀️up to a video from Grace to start my day
She can finally be in the running for an Emmy now. Be able to show her acting chops !
HBO = 👑
I've known that Tom Pelphery was a huge talent since his gig in a certain soap opera called Guiding Light about 15 years ago. It's so cool that more people are taking a look at him.
I love, love, LOVE Lizzie Olsen. I will definitely watch it now that I’ve watched your review. Thanks Grace 🤗
What I LOVED about CANDY was how campy it was... it FELT and LOOKED like a 1980's after school special lol.
Definitely much more stylish and fun to watch than this HBO version.
@@Fiveash-Art I'm still trying to watch LOVE/DEATH but CANDY still wins my vote. Jessica's performance was really daring in my opinion. I'm not feeling the "daring" from anyone in the MAX version... HULU wins!
@@KJBigBelter It's so much better.
@@charlesalexlabelle3558 What are you laughing at? ... I'm not into it, so I'm not finishing it. It's BORING. I already know the story, so what's the point if it doesn't taste good to me? Candy is more my flavor in it's execution ... Like I said Love and Death is your standard network True Detective type show in direction and execution. You keep enjoying it though.. glad you like it. I don't need to finish it.
Can't wait to see when it all drops 😍 Elizabeth Olsen looks amazing as always! Thanks for great review
my english teacher is in this project!! so excited
The most unbelievable thing is that Elizabeth Olsen would be into Jessie plemons
Elizabeth Olsen has got to be my favorite actress right now tbh
I can't believe Succession isn't being covered weekly. One of the best shows of all time.
Love & Death & Candy are both based on the book Evidence of Love, one of the best true crime books ever written. Love both shows & the 1990 Barbara Hershey tv movie, also based off the book. Highly recommend all of them👏So good!
I absolutely love Elizabeth Olsen. I'd recommend Wind River to anyone who can't get enough of her.
The verdict is obviously a part of history. The US legal system has not evolved in hundreds of years and prefers “theater” to “justice.” This makes for gripping television and an increasingly inequitable society teetering on the verge of Civil War. To change the system would require citizens and lawyers coming together to make fundamental changes in hearsay laws, chain of evidence nuances, etc. Society would also have to rip power away from prosecutors who prefer showboat trials (one in NY now comes to mind) over justice. Almost everyone can be accused of breaking a law. We have so many laws on books that any good investigator can find something on everyone (even if you are just speeding in a school zone, 26 mph in a 25, and if you do your taxes yourself: good luck). We need a more open grand jury process. We need better jury selection. Grand juries should be handled by Zoom or teleconference because most Americans don’t have days to come to Court during business hours. Our Courts waste endless amounts of time. Due process is years. In a certain NY trial, a showboat prosecutor has charged a former politician with a “crime” for which there has NEVER been a conviction and next hearing is in December (LOL) (I don’t like that certain politician at all, by the way. I never voted for, nor is there a world where I would vote for that certain politician. But for those who understand the law; it is easy to recognize a political showboat and a weak case. Cases such as these only further damage our ancient system.)
We need reform, but in order to get it people need to care. But the bad system does create great television, so I guess all is well.
IM SO EXCITED GRACE THANK YOU
I did watch Candy and like it Grace so I wasn't planning to watch love and death anytime soon but your glowing recommendation has changed my mind.
When Kidman was at her peak , you couldn’t take your eyes of her. She had that amazing star quality in her formance and was absolutely hypnotizing in any role she played, and she’s quite a versatile actor. Olson, although although great actor (better than 75 percent of current actors), doesn’t have that extra sparkle Kidman would bring to any role. Nobody compares to Kidman. Have you seen To Die For?
I’m so hyped for this it looks amazing based off the trailers
I never saw Candy, or even heard of it until Love and Death came around and you mentioned it. I didn't even know the story. I'm excited to see Love and Death.
hulu’s candy was not good. the worst part was i didn’t realize it was trash until i finished it and was like “that’s it?” the hbo version will be 100% better
thankfully i did not see Candy so i have absolutely no clue what happens, and i love Elizaebth Olsen, definitely watching this
Candy is WAY better than this version.
As I was watching this series tonight. I couldn't help but think that the Actor playing Elizabeth Olson's husband if he got in shape he has a similar look to Christopher Reeves.
Okay, I seen this on Neon streaming here in NZ and was thinking hmmmm because I don’t really watch series like that but will definitely check it out now. 😊
I can’t wait to see this! Any Emmy hopes?
I loved Tom pelphrey from back in the day. When he played johnathan in guiding light.
I saw Candy but I’m sooo looking forward to seeing this!!
I also regret that they aren’t releasing it on HBO proper; like you said, that Sunday slot has the power to elevate almost any show to appointment-viewing / water cooler conversation status
Hulu’s ‘Candy’ Was Streamer’s Most Successful Original Premiere in Nearly a Year During Launch Week The series was first on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming original programs Katie Campione | June 9, 2022
I have seen so many product services tools and shows that were first to the market beat out others products that were far superior. Sometimes they were made and produced at the same time but whoever is first of the market is usually King regardless of the quality of that product.
I always saw Emile Hirsch as someone who would follow in Leo’s footsteps, maybe even Evan Peters.
I love the Candy mini series and it was amazing
I was already gonna watch it because of Olsen, but I had no idea Tom Pelphrey was in it, that just makes me even more excited to see it
I watched part of Candy. It didn’t grab me. I fell asleep at one point.
Wasn’t sure about this one- maybe I’ll give it a try.
i’m so excited! ❤❤ hope olsen gets award love this season and maybe a win
Candy was a really good watch
Love me some Lizzie Olsen! So excited for your Evil Dead Rise reviewwww! I’ve been waiting for this movie!
Awesome Review Grace You are The Beat 😁
What is a "screener app"? Sounds cool
This cracks me up how this thread is talking about Elizabeth Olsen and not the actual story of the murder which is CRAZY and has been and has been a famous case for a long time now so it's not a spoiler to talk about. It has a book...been on SNAPPED and done on tv series's more than once already.
Do yourself a favor and learn about the actual murder case and you will appreciate this mini series retelling even more.
I love Elizabeth Olsen, but I recommend people (if you can find it) watch the 1990 Miniseries "A Killing In A Small Town" where Barbara Hershey played Candy. She won the 1990 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. Miss Hershey was perfect in the role.
The movie is on RUclips, but I think they cut out the murder scene.
I loved Candy and am soooo excited to see this take on the story, especially with Elizabeth freaking Olsen!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Michelle said in an interview on the Antman 3 press circuit that it’s her choice not to work professionally with her husband because it’s better that way for their marriage.
I watched Candy. Really solid. Wife and I loved it. Crazy
🙋♀️ I watched Candy, and the made for tv movie in the 80’s. Murder in a small town. I will watch love and death also.
I had no clue Candy was even a show! I really thought love and death was the first ever to cover this case. I am absolutely LOVING it!
Nicole Kidman did play a witch in a film based on a popular 60s TV show “Bewitched “ similar Elizabeth olsen would go on to do in Wanda vision .
This Reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence pulling out of a project after seeing Amanda Seyfried's portrayal of the same character. It's asking a lot for an audience to sit thru the same story twice. I'll watch this eventually.
OMG I love Tom. I've been obsessed with him since Banshee.
Grace your review got me sold this series seems interesting
4 more hours. I’m staying up to wait hoping it airs at midnight.
I’m so excited for this show!
It amazes me how Elizabeth is the younger sister but has surpassed both her older sisters
Yes! It still baffles me 😅
I love Elizabeth Olsen, but god there is no genre I hate more than true crime drama. So so so exploitative of not only the victims of the crime but also the fear that so many Americans now have of each other.
This wasnt on my radar but i certainly will be watching now!!
I already thought this looked great, can’t wait to watch this when it drops!
Loved the first 3 episodes, will wait till is all out to binge watch
I actually was surprised at how much a did like Candy and Jessica Biel. I thought they did a great job. I’ll give Ms. Olsen’s a try.
I watched Candy. It was fantastic!!!
I like Elizabeth Olsen but I got to say I think Jessica Biel with much better cast as Candy Montgomery. In terms of acting Olsen and Biel are pretty much on par with each other but I prefer Biel just because of how much she looks like the real life Candy Montgomery.
I loved Tom Pelphrey when I watched him on Iron Fist ❤. He needs to get more work!
I don't think Hollywood doesn't know what to do with Elizabeth Olsen. I think she doesn't know what to do with Hollywood. I think she's more of a Actor's Actor, more at home in the theater and in small, intense indies. Just like Kristen Stewart she has one or two big cash cows that help pay for the passion projects that she wants to do.
I watched Candy. It was very good
Love & Death seems interesting. Thanks for this review.
Hulu’s ‘Candy’ Was Streamer’s Most Successful Original Premiere in Nearly a Year During Launch Week Katie Campione June 9, 2022
I saw the Hulu version and I thought it was amazing. Not sure I will watch this version.
Candy was great I love it 😻
I think you like Elizabeth's movie more, is because she is more well known right now than Jessica. Because Jessica kinda took a little time off concentrating on other financial endeavors.
This is the show I’ve been waiting for all year!! Wooooo oh boy! We shall be sitting for momma Wanda! 😍😍😍✨✨
can’t wait
There should have been a Scarlet Witch movie already and a next one in pre-production. Marvel is really sleeping on this one. Like don’t they want to be successful and make billions already? You have the person en character in house 😓 it’s just stupid on Disney/Marvels part.
What do you think of beau is afraid??
The problem was that Angelina Jolie had some great, rough edged rolls in movies like Hackers and Girl Interrupted. I really like Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider movies. I can't think of anything that compelling early in Gal Gadot's career. However, I would be happy to explore if someone had any suggestions.
Girl Interrupted is a good movie.
@@Fiveash-Art Yes, it is.
Now that I’ve watched both I can say that Love and Death is a lot better.
Kidman did Bewitched remake film. So both also witches as well!
Happy for our Wanda!
I watched Candy and thought the same about watching this, but I'm gonna give Love and Death a Whirl
I hope she return as Scarlet Witch, that's strong woman done right.
Absolutely Grace! 🎉❤😂 I am SEATED
