@@tempestates13 have you even traveled down Symmes road in the last couple of years? I'd say starting around 3:30 in the afternoon going on until about 7:00 in the evening it's absolutely horrible. I get what you're saying about Big Bend though. I think that has a lot to do with idiots who know they are going to be getting on the interstate, but do not stay in the proper lane and decide to change at the last second. 🤣
I’ve been in Tampa for 21 years and been a bus driver here for 8 years.. Sulphur springs definitely has more respect and “street credit” that you give it here. Armenia is considered safe aside from waters and Armenia and that’s only because they have a plasma selling center there. Cross fletcher is commonly referred to as “suitcase city”
If you live in Tampa, you definitely know about Sulphur Springs. Parts of Ybor and the Heights (not by Robles Park yet) have already significantly cleaned up and are showing signs of major growth, but the springs hasn’t taken much of a turn at all. It’s a bad area you wouldn’t want to catch yourself in after dusk alone
I love that you call out the realitors that lie when they make videos trying to fool people into moving to Tampa just so they can make a commission. Personally I don’t mind any of the neighborhoods in Tampa. Coming from Chicago I always pay attention to my surroundings and I think the people of Tampa are cool to be around
LoL coming from Chicago obviously you're used to these neighborhoods and when you hear guns popping off all the time it's nothing new to you right? It's nothing new to me I'm a Florida native over here in Pinellas county I hope he's done a video on that... The way a lot of us Floridians are is we don't care where you come from as long as you show us respect you'll get respect and US oldschool people who are in our forties we always like to banging out with our fists it's the proper way to do it ya know and most of the times will be all banged up with some blood on each other and want to sit down and drink a bottle together afterwards. LoL that's southern hospitality
I have lived in Tampa all my life, 61 years I've watched it go from a small town to a metropolitan city. Some of these neighborhoods I will agree But take a ride with somebody that knows these neighborhoods knows them well Before you put something like this on here. I could have taken you through neighborhoods 10 times worse than what you showed on your little video. When you are real good to her Tampa just give me a holler I will show The good the bad and the ugly.
I was born and raised in Tampa if u stay out of trouble then u will enjoy Tampa if u come looking for u will get it. Good n bad is in every city and state thats life.
I grew up in St. Petersburg and lived in Tampa for 13 years. I used to live in some of these neighborhoods, Sulphur Springs, Cross Fletcher, University... and worked in East Tampa and attended classes at HCC in Ybor City. Let's face it, half of Tampa is a ghetto. Great video. I used to work at the crisis center and helped a lot of the homeless and mentally ill. Tampa is a tough city, but I agree with most of the people commenting. If you show respect, mind your own business and don't go looking for trouble you probably won't find it. Tampa is very diverse, most of the residents are very cool and friendly, unless they are shooting at you or trying to run you over.
Your review was pretty spot on. I’ve been a cop in Tampa for 35 years and we do have some bad areas. Some of these places are getting better but we have a long way to go. There are a lot of other places worse off trust me. Get involved in your town and be the change. If you see something say something. Improve your little world where you live . Life is precious. We all need to love one another as neighbors and family. Great video . Being aware of your town can bring positive change. I love Tampa but we can improve. Have a safe day and be the change in your community. ❤️👍👍
Thanks! I try to be a good influence on my channel knowing the youth is watching. Please see our videos from time to time. Your right only so much you can control
@@kennethallen809 is law enforcement no bueno or are you no bueno? I imagine anyone that advocates for burning and looting a gas station because you THINK he’s racist is probably why cops don’t respect you or who you hang out with. Be better first.
Visited Tampa for the 1st time last year. Thought I was in a nice area, staying by USF, which is bordered by Fletcher Ave. But just going a few blocks west near Copeland Park, you start to see the poverty & decline. Then going south past Busch Gardens you see poverty. I was like damn, I’m surrounded by the hood. Still a nice city tho
I was born in Tampa and still here. I agree with most of these but a couple of neighborhoods you rated as 10, 9, 8 should be top 5 worse. I would also add Nuccio and the area near 50th street.
@@Volkswagenplanet that's the worst God damn thing too is they give out all these government loans to foreigners and they buy up apartment complexes and houses and turn them all into section 8 so they don't have to worry about getting rent late they've done that to almost every apartment complex and condos throughout all of Pinellas county really nice apartment complexes that I lived in me walking outside cops pulling guns on me I'm asking what the hell's going on they said we got the call shots fired. WTF LOL
Lifelong Tampanian here and I can tell you where you live in Tampa by the zip code... Tampa has long been a working-class city. Fun fact - During the 1940s-1960s, the city "used" to be controlled by notorious mobsters, and corruption used to be rampant. However, as any other longtime resident can attest, gentrification, accelerated by the pandemic, has drastically changed the city's character. Living comfortably and/or completely crime-free within the city limits itself is becoming more expensive with more middle-class people, particularly white residents, having to move to far-out Hillsborough suburbs (i.e., Wesley Chapel, Citrus Park, Brandon) who can't afford to live in South Tampa or Carrollwood.
The only thing I would say is that everyone would agree that Sulphur Springs should be higher on this list. And Armenia is generally safe even though it's run down.
This is the most legit video I've seen on someone covering Tampa. Other videos show Tampa and only the best parts not showing real struggles people go through and what we see daily. This was really good💛
i don't think that realtors necessarily lie to you in their videos just because they don't show you the hood. yes, they obviously want people to move down here so they're obviously going to show you the nice and presentable neighborhoods. thats like trying to call out an LA realtor for not showing you the streets of compton, or an NYC realtor not showing the hoods in the Bronx. doesn't make sense right? with any city, it has its bad areas, of course, but thats pretty inferable at this point guys. stop acting like the realtors are the bad guys.
Just discovered this channel, great video! I moved from Maine to Tampa about 13 years ago and know many of these. Would love to see a mini map that outlines the neighborhood in the corner or something but great to see live street video!
I would be very interested in seeing you talk about the suburbs east of Tampa, valrico, plant city, seffner, Brandon, Bloomingdale, Riverview, fishhawk, lithia etc.
Although Tampa has it's bad areas, it never feels like there is a desperate situation your walking into. The locals in any hood are pretty much not messing with you unless your looking for trouble. Even in jail the problems are kept at a minimum
@@theworldpodcast1801 I've lived here my entire life in different areas that include the most crime ridden areas. You rarely if ever hear about any gang shootings and even in jail people don't take hoods seriously. Yes you may run into some trouble but you literally have to look for it or place yourself in bad situations as far as any violence goes. Now getting your car stolen or homes being broken into is another story and a bit more common. Our murder rate rate is actually very low and nothing compared to other major city
@@theworldpodcast1801 also, there's no racial tension between blacks and Latinos like there is in cities like los Angeles or Chicago. It used to be bad in college hill old projects back in the 90s before they tore them down and built newer ones in a kind of gentrification like rebuilding although they are still low income homes that were built. Even in ybor city throughout most clubs are generally safe with the occasional fight breaking out that include mostly drunk or intoxicated people. Only in Mexican based clubs do you really see any tension between different hoods and cities because Mexican and Chicano gangs have historically been territorial and many of these gangbangers run into each other in nightclubs and or events like quinceñeras and they really mostly come from outside the city limits.
@@xbrowsingvidzx2998 oh yea so your telling me if I were to stop at any respective neighborhood store for gas I have be cautious of a possibile armed robbery or assault? No kid so is not the case. Yes if your out in the middle of the night trying to cop some dope well here just like any city or town you have to be careful. But to say that if my car breaks down in some rough part of town that I'm at a high or medium risk of being hurt is not the reality for the most part. Now if you left your car in the streets in a bad area then you may be a victim of car theft or having it broken into and even then only after a car has been left for a significant amount of time. Bro Tampa is a good city this isn't no rap song here
I lived in Tampa Bay for 5 years and loved it! I actually felt much safer there than in PA. I sold final expense life insurance and 90% of my clients made under 20K/year. Yes, they were poor but I NEVER felt unsafe in Tampa and only felt unsafe twice in all of Florida. Once in St Pete just north of Tropicana Field and once in Tallahassee. Not sure if PA just sucks but the people in Florida were so much more gentle/kind/respectful than up north. Wish I still lived there!!!
Yeah that's how you know guy prob not from here. Armenia is just a street that run from south Tampa through West Tampa and merges into another street in North Tampa (long stretch of a street). West Tampa is full of Latinos now and gotten expensive.
40 years ago I worked in construction in Miami and Homestead with a crew of Cubans. I'm of Italian heritage and never felt more accepted, like family. Probably the best experience I ever had in Florida and the food was the best. Great choice of music at the end of your video "Chan Chan".
Born and raised in Tampa. This list is SPOT on, however I didn't even think about Sulfur Springs. Totally forgot that place. Just goes to show you, there's always something to learn about home.
Great content. I've lived in and around Tampa for 17 years. I love it. Beautiful scenery and history in all of these neighborhoods. Moonlake though, IMO, not a Tampa neighborhood. It's almost an hour outside of the city in another county. Loved the tour though, thank you.
Man I lived in every district from Sulphur springs, cross fletcher, Armenia, South Tampa, New Tampa, East Tampa. I never had a problem anywhere. I love Tampa ❤️ Bay
I'm from Tampa, raised in Cross Fletcher neighborhood and been in every neighborhood here from South Tampa, North Tampa, Nuccio, Grant park and etc. You name them I been in the area and still go in them. I learn a lot do and don't no matter the neighborhoods if you go in just show respect or it will be a bad experience for you. Anyone from the 813 area will say the same thing young or old.
I'm a native and you nailed it. I got sober at a halfway house in Sulfur Springs, as much that it is dangerous, I was given a safe place to get my junk together. There is hope for some of these places. You shared in good taste. Thank you for the respect.
I used to do private Secruity on Fletcher, I’ve had dirty needles thrown at me, guns pulled, multiple physical altercations, seeing drug deals everyday and more
Great video! Awesome information. Keep in mind that gentrification has made its way into some of these questionable areas changing the landscape. Maybe you can do a video in Tampa on low-income zip codes that are experiencing gentrification and how we anticipate this affecting those who can't afford a tax increase. Thanks again, love your channel, sharing it with friends and family.
Not only do I like the video but these COMMENTS. I absolutely LOVE how hella natives showing up with the real. I’m highly considering moving cross country just honestly after trying out Jax for ‘bout a year pre-Covid. I don’t know what it is but I just fell in love with FL & been trynna go back every since. Lol but not duval again. Great video but also great people/natives commenting. Y’all really showed up and shed light on the city. Thank you. 💛🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for making this, I have a friend from Wisconsin who wants to move somewhere in Florida and I'm trying to steer them clear of places like Tampa lol.
What everyone overlooks is that the hot weather just increases the anger and attitude of struggling people that live paycheck to paycheck and commonly pushes them over the edge and causes crazy habits to constantly happen.
People also place to much of their paycheck into the cars that they try to keep running and whatever they are smoking wether it is weed or cigarettes which also keeps them poor and just flat out in a death cycle ! Tampa firmly agrees with staying as high as you can and they just respond with"0 well, whatever",alot of them are brainwashed and the majority of them work in the retail business.Alot of them never worked 12 hour days, and 84 hours a week in a factory or know what it is like to live without a cell phone!
I’m a realtor and we have to abide by fair housing laws. It kind of sucks because we have clients who ask about certain areas, but we can’t tell them the “truth” because we could get fined or lose our license. Instead we tell them to call the police for crime stats. That is how things like redlining started.
you dont have to show a house.... do a showing at 9:30 pm on a friday night. listen to police radio while in the car with your client LOL - i mean get creative LOL. you also dont have to show a house and not give .. i've said too much. sorry ..
Pretty accurate list, although I would put Fletcher higher on the list. Fletcher and University got really, really bad a few years ago when St. Pete outlawed pan-handling and all of the beggers crossed the bridge and posted-up all along Nebraska Ave. Speaking of Nebraska Ave., I once walked past a dead guy on Nebraska by a bus stop just south of 109th -- in broad-daylight.
That's funny because I actually witnessed a double murder at the 7-11 on 109th & Nebraska in broad daylight two spice heads stabbing each other. Learned from a local cop I know one died on the scene the other died at the Hospital. So it was a win win for Tampa two spice heads gone that is great population control.
I've been in Tampa for about 3 years now. I've been doing Uber eats since and have accumulated about 800 orders. So I've been in virtaully every neighborhood in Tampa. I can say without a doubt that the surrounding USF area (university) is by far the sketchiest.
I used to live in Tampa Heights and that place is crazy haunted and then moved on to Fletcher and 22nd Avenue and the killings here are crazy. They kill, rob and do home invasions here so much that it doesn't even come out in the news because it's nothing new. Just another normal day but I love my city.
@@Volkswagenplanet yes sir. I lived in suphur springs too on hillsborough lane also lived in highland pines by grant park in east tampa. The video showed some ghetto places but he missed a few imo. sulphur springs, nuccio, college hill area but good video
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS yep, that's my big beef with rioters. Your grievance is with the police, and the government you do not send a message to them by burning down your community and destroying lives of your fellow community members. Certain unoccupied buildings and vehicles should be targeted in that case. I have no issue if they target those specific buildings and vehicles. 😁
Was really upset about the looting and burning down businesses, it was a very gloomy week when that happened 😒I had to ride pass the gas station where a man lost his life.ITs always another way to be heard💔
A riot is the language of the unheard, said Dr. King. A way to think of the businesses destroyed in these things is that they are not owned by locals, but by transnational corporations who limit the extent of their investment to merely what's necessary to siphon as much wealth as possible out of the communities they come to roost on, whether that's in the labor of the locals they underpay for, or in the overpriced goods they sell, extracting the meager wealth of their customers as well as their labor. Occasionally you hear of someone poor and local who had a business whose place of business was destroyed, but what you invariably find is that they didn't own that structure, they were having the wealth they produced with their labor extracted by a landlord, who likely was having a lot of their take extracted by a Wall Street mortgage company. As one woman in Minneapolis said when she was asked why her neighbors were destroying their own businesses, she said "we don't own none of this!"
I grew up in sulphur springs! It is in Fact a bad neighborhood. I actually called for succession of the part of the neighborhood south of Busch Blvd, East of Florida Ave, North of Hillsborough River, and (WEST OF NEBRASKA), because the area (where i grew up) is being brought down by all the disaster the rest of the neighborhood has. It is plagued with crime ever since i moved in! We always talked about the “other side of Nebraska” it’s that bad!
Love the comment about how far Florida has come. I'm very pleased with the diversity in the Tampa area...Especially how friendly all people are to each other!
I'm from Atlanta but lived in Tampa and delivered for Amazon all around the city for 2 years, many times in sulphur springs/Nebraska Ave. Tampa is not dangerous at all, if you can drive through any neighborhood in Tampa without having to run stop signs or red lights then it's not that bad. There is a lot of homeless here though I will say that.
Born and Raised in Tampa, as a single white female, the only place I have been that I didn't feel comfortable was Robles Park. Stopped there to check out the river for fishing, Chatted with some older guys not catching much but they kinda said it's not safe for me there and I respected their opinion. Ybor use to be a lot scarier. It's pretty nice now. University area has gone to complete garbage. (still have some great ethnic food!) I'm seeing more homeless creeping into Forest Hills/Carrollwood. We are even having issues with squatters in some of the empty homes. And the house Flippers make it hard for the average working family to buy a nice house without the prices being jacked out of sight! I enjoyed your list.
I lived in Tampa for about 50 years off North Blvd and Seminole Heights area, Used to have a Prince grocery on Columbus Drive and a Huttos corner I think on Osborne walked to school to Hillsborough High School, when I was young before I had a car walked everywhere. I think times have changed now as I am over 70 years old...
@Maria Cyza surrounding would be Tampa Bay, area. Don't you think? Not a completely different county when you are trying to highlight different areas of " TAMPA".. then do different surrounding areas.. there's plenty of shitty places in Tampa that you can stay with in the city limits and not have to leave the county because your out of idea's. Just saying.... there's plenty of that he could have otherwise. I've lived and grown up in Tampa my entire life of 48 years.
lived in tampa for over 10 years and been a Floridian my whole life. the change of all the people moving here has made life awful. traffic is shit and the area for Tampa from land o lakes, Lutz, Wesley chapel, Odessa, trinity, New Port Richey ,spring hill all the way to plant city and inverness are being over run . rode's and highways are not made for this influx of people. and damn sure the prices for housing and rent are stupid in comparison to just 3 years ago. Honestly everyone whos moved in the last 3 years have been aiding in the gentrification of our community. The elderly people who've lived here there whole lives are being forced out because of all this. ive been forced out. our minimum wage here isn't enough to pay for an apartment on your own. im hairstylist and do make above minimum wage and its almost impossible to do it on your own. I am not alone in these thoughts. in my personal opinion i wish our governor would stop new builds of homes and allowing people to move here till we can fix our rode's and guarantee jobs with a livable wage. Also not that im super big into politics but remember youre moving to a red state .... that will never change . so if you move here, dont complain about how our governor does his stuff. seems to be the one thing that all my new clients from blue states keep having an issue with. i dont know why when that is the reason most people are moving here.
I'm in tampa heights. Born and raised. There's a lot of gentrification going on in seminole heights with the old architecture and I love seeing people post online talking about "anyone else hear shots near x street and y street". And I'm like "yeah, you bought a house in the hood because your realtor said it was a great neighborhood with historical significance". I've seen so many people(white rich) move away only a year after moving in. I love the video, I wish I could show it to all the people moving here. I've seen other videos and stopped watching. I waited to see if you was going to talk about tampa heights and robles. There are a few more places but you definitely hit the bad ones and the ones that people from here know about.👌
The truth is if you live within 1 mile of a Family Dollar store, you in da hood. I moved to Tampa and have chosen to stay for 30+ years. And I had 5 FD stores within 2 miles in Temple Crest. Now I live in New Tampa. Love my Bucs! Good video.
Born and raised in Tampa. If you like 98 degrees and 100% humidity 12 months out of the year and mosquitos that can carry away a small child, then you will love it. If you're not a native Floridian, you will get s#it on by the locals. New Yorkers are the most hated. Do yourself a favor and stay up north.
I'm someone who was born and raised in Tampa and I still live here. This video is 100% accurate, though I'd rank Fletcher and Sulphur Springs higher. Tampa Heights has been really gentrified as of late, same as Ybor. I'm from the Armenia neighborhood. Although I agree that it can be kinda rough, I wouldn't call it unsafe. It's definitely a decent place to live if you're Latine and want to be near that community and food. Rent prices have absolutely skyrocketed in Tampa too due to a lot of right-wingers and those who can work from home coming here for the weather and politics. I cannot say this loud enough, if you fit that description: please LEAVE. The harm this is causing our community is immeasurable. I see it daily. You may think gentrifying is "cleaning up" the neighborhood, but it's just kicking out native Tampa residents and moving us all into smaller and smaller communities that get worse and worse. I'm looking at a $500 rent increase right now. You aren't feeding into the community because most of you aren't working in this community. Meanwhile, our meager $10 an hour minimum wage cannot afford a $1,300 studio.
Also thank you for putting in that info about Robles park. They're already trying to cover it up, developing as much as they can around it to try and cover that stain on our history. It's shameful and sad.
I’m glad you put moon lake on the list. I grew up on the other side of moon lake rd. This place is full of drugs and poverty. I grew up hearing stories of people using pigs to dispose of bodies back there.
I’m currently searching for a place to stay in Tampa. I visit a lot but need help on finding the right areas that are safe but still affordable. Anyone in the comments can help?
So some places are South Tampa which sometimes you can find a lower rent and is close to downtown and Westshore areas. In the suburbs Westchase is quiet and nice with some affordable rentals and not too out of the way, Clearwater and Oldsmar are also good areas a little further out - but watch being close to downtown clearwater. Brandon area is newer builds and decent too but be warned traffic going across town is awful!!! Really it depends on your commute or what you want to be near
South Tampa (below Kennedy), downtown Tampa, Bayshore, The Village/Carrollwood, Westchase, Westshore, Beach Park, Hyde Park, Citrus Park are all places that you can stay
Try the Riverview area. Still some very affordable housing in that area pretty clean for the most part close to the highways and it's up and coming and growing, close to Brandon too. Also Valrico and Seffner which are on the other side of Brandon are good areas too. All of these are South and Southeast of Tampa still in Hillsborough county. 😊👍
I lived in Tampa for two years and I am so glad I left! You are so right about the rural poverty surrounding Tampa. The zoning in Central Florida sucks. I saw this in Lakeland too where a mansion is right across the street from the ghetto. Where I live in Utah now, there are two universities within 7 minutes of each other (one is a public open admissions and the open a private religious university) and they have free buses connecting the two and their surroundings were made for college students. At USF, you are forced to drive into a dangerous area to get to campus (the campus itself is safe but your forced to live in these dangerous areas if you want to live near campus). And if you want to/need to go to Walmart, you have to go to the Walmart on Fletcher which is in a very sketchy area and there's always a cop car there. The area surrounding Busch Gardens is incredibly sketchy! Tampa, and Florida in general, has the rudest drivers I have ever seen. Now that I look back, the only thing I enjoyed about Tampa was the Riverwalk. Everything was incredibly far. The roads were always congested. No public transportation. Low wages. Looking back now, there is NOTHING I miss about living in Florida!
Lies!!! regarding public transportation. Public transportation in Tampa Bay is great! I used to ride from Saint Petersburg to Tampa any day of the week using Tampa and Saint Pete’s public transportation. You can go all over Tampa using HART! Now, Tampa Bayers can catch the ferry Fall through Spring. I churched in Tampa but a St. Pete resident! Housing less expensive in Tampa and you make a $1 more in wages. Can be in Saint Pete, Tarpon Springs, Clearwater minus traffic 20 mins. Orlando is one hour 15 mins. away. Busch Gardens in Tampa, International Mall in Sarasota, Brandon, Siesta Key right down the road, Bradenton right across the Skyway. Tampa Rays play in St. Pete. Ybor City pops (the “s” is silent) off! The orange-blue building in this video is across from Belmont Heights in East Tampa: ruclips.net/video/X5kkHVyPodk/видео.html
I only been to Florida one time . Pamana I love it the beach beautiful the city to. I wants to go to Miami and Tampa Jackson . Sometimes you got to go yourself and check out thing.Because sometime places not as beautiful as people be bragging.Sometime hood not as bad
As a Tampa native I fuckin died when you said " diverse landscape " as the video pans over a buncha beat up old trailers 😂😂 good video though , subscribed 🤘. As far as the worst neighborhoods, I couldn't even tell ya man, depending on the day...
I've lived in Tampa over 40 years. You hit most of the bad areas. Seminole Heights, although historical, scares me, as does Town and Country. They're are great areas too, like Carrollwood, Oldsmar and West Chase.
I lived in Tampa, FL for 2 years from 2019 to 2021 and could not get out fast enough. Crime is high, people do not know how to drive, and people are rude to you if you are not a Floridian.
I’ve lived/worked in Tampa for 35 years. This is an accurate video. This is why so many people are choosing to buy homes in Wesley Chapel, San Antonio, Brandon, Riverview, etc to get out of the Tampa area. But there are still places to buy in Tampa as long as you can afford it.
#1 Tampa Heights (Robles Park) #2 Ybor City #3 University #4 Sulphur Springs #5 Moon Lake #6 East Tampa #7 Armenia #8 West Tampa #9 North Tampa #10 Cross Fletcher Not to take away a view because the video creator brought up ALOT of good points in the video but if you're looking to buy a house in Tampa and wanted a quick reference there you go. But definitely worth the watch. His section on the Heights and Robles Park is incredibly interesting something I had never known. I won't spoil it but like I said worth the watch for sure.
Hey do you have a video about the areas in between Tampa and Lakeland? Like Plant City or Zephrhills, or Auburndale? I am planning a move south to FL. Not because of my state, lol. I live in VA. I am moving for my health. So I would appreciate some beforehand knowledge of these areas. Thank you. :)
Plant City and Auburndale BOTH cities we did videos on in the last 2 months... now enjoy scrolling thru my list of videos since we upload ALOT of content. These are kinda bland areas, nothing special just regular little towns. Good people. Lakeland is the larger city and we did like 6 videos there in the last 3 months as well. Meth and Pills we still have not done a video of but its mostly gated mobile home parks and retired folks, a Publix for groceries and your all set. Sebring is also affordable and has it all, a little further south. The areas west of 27 are best there, east of 27 is a little run down. Enjoy the videos once you find them, and feel free to ask anything. My sister is a realtor if your gonna buy.
Wesley Chapel and even Zephyrhills are starting to get more populated but no crime really if you’re respectful but def way less BS/drama/Panhandlers than areas of Tampa like sligh/Nebraska, university fowler. The sad reality is there are way more deaths caused by drugs, mental health, abusive relationships etc than probably way more “gang” activity or just random violence. It’s everywhere unfortunately there’s good and bad no matter where you go, just be safe watch your surroundings stay strapped (just in case) but most of all just show respect for one another treat everyone like fam and the world could be so much better! #PeaceAndLoveInTampaFL #Respect&PerceptionIsVital4Change
Overall I think you are spot on and wish young people just getting their license in these areas would watch or view these types of videos rather than get caught out of bounds taking a wrong turn off a highway especially late at night. I used to drive for Uber and I would have to go to some of these areas to pick up and drop off and most I would avoid. Sometimes your would be surprised like there are air bnb right off 7th avenue ybor a family would rent staying a couple days before getting on a cruise, If you wanted to make a new video and exploring Tampa Bay and surrounding areas I would say South St pete is notorious and a surprising rural hood is Sefner with high drug traffic.
Wow! I was born in Dallas and raised in Tampa,Florida. I lived in Seffner as a pre-teen. Of course that was many years ago…. It wasn’t nothing what you just said. It was country-like….My how time flies and things have really changed!!!
I grew up around north Brandon, Seffner area most my life....it's always been run down and a little shady in certain sections, but... last time I was there (5 years ago) I was at Winn Dixie wit my pops off MLK after dark and I turned and asked him "u strapped?" God bless my pops he was like "duh" lol I miss him... I lost him this year, but yeah i never had 2 ask him that before, but that night I could just feel it in the air.... lots of goons outside and inside the store
Thank you for sharing this I'm so glad I watched because most of my family lives in different parts in Tampa. I go visit from time to time so it's good to know these things. Building the projects on top of a cemetery is just wrong. Poultigiest wrong
This list is pretty accurate. I lived in a few of these places and my house is in East Tampa. What I will say is that Cross Fletcher and University (Suitcase City) are basically side by side. I lived in Cross Fletcher for a good amount of years before my brief move to the suburbs. A lot of crackheads, a lot of poverty and a lot of gunshots in the night. If you swapped Cross Fletcher and Armenia, I think the list would be more accurate. Armenia ave has some of the best food in Tampa, if you are looking for some fire Colombian, Cuban or Puerto Rican food. Ybor has gotten has gotten a lot better over the years (thank goodness). The city has made great efforts to gentrify it by preserving the historic neighborhoods, building a good amount of new build homes, apartments etc.
Great video! I lived in university near Busch and Fowler from 2018 to 2021. So terrible seeing the champs and marathon burned down. We moved into channel district shortly after….Despite some bad areas I believe Tampa offers a ton of good industry, entertainment, and overall living quality. Also, I love history and was fascinated by your info on Robles park being built on a cemetery. Never knew that!
I’ve lived in Tampa Bay Area for 3.5 years and have only known a few of these hoods. Port Richey is a pretty tough spot too. The mayor had a shootout with the SWAT team!
10:50 this is Clearwater on court and MLK I used to live on the block diagonal to this one, before that I lived in north Tampa by Fletcher and Bearss. I would walk around often at different times and never had any issues, nice video
I know I dont live in tampa but I work there on the bridges during the day and at night doing anything from fixing potholes to cleaning homeless debris and it's always a sad thing to see. No doubt tampa has a homeless problem. And not every person that's homeless are bad if you talk to them. Some of the people I've talked to lost their home because of covid. Things that could happen to anybody. Alot of times drugs or alcohol could be a factor but not every time from what I've learned while working here
Been a native of Tampa for 59yrs..You are very close to being point on in your review, but I think you could replace 7 -10 with areas such as Grant Park, Jackson Heights and the area north of Hillsborough Av. & 34th St....not to mention Carver City, Port Tampa,Clair-mel, Riverview Terrace, Progress Village and Palm River area's.
Born and raised in North Tampa. This area was great growing up, but has gone down hill for over 30+ years. Would love to hear your take on the Riverview and Balm area.
Oh yeah, it definitely has some no-go zones but so does every big city and really almost every city. Tampa is actually one of the safer cities in America especially compared to the other cities with almost a half a million people
I expected you to mention Street Names with Major Intersections. Otherwise, it can be confusing when you only mention Neighborhoods. I travel on the Neighborhoods along Nebraska pretty much every day and I haven't had any issues. I certainly wouldn't want to live in a lot of those Areas. Temple Terrace has some areas that I wouldn't want to live in either.

Parts of Ybor and the Heights (not by Robles Park yet) have already significantly cleaned up and are showing signs of major growth, but the springs hasn’t taken much of a turn at all. It’s a bad area you wouldn’t want to catch yourself in after dusk alone

Tampa is a tough city, but I agree with most of the people commenting. If you show respect, mind your own business and don't go looking for trouble you probably won't find it.
Tampanian 😁
I was a kid and got bused to Tampa Booker T Washington from Brandon it was awful

We did that for some of the other videos
I would be very interested in seeing you talk about the suburbs east of Tampa, valrico, plant city, seffner, Brandon, Bloomingdale, Riverview, fishhawk, lithia etc.
Although Tampa has it's bad areas, it never feels like there is a desperate situation your walking into. The locals in any hood are pretty much not messing with you unless your looking for trouble. Even in jail the problems are kept at a minimum
Thats what you think
I lived in Tampa in several areas n got in trouble almost all the time. Drugs, gangs, all that's there Fs
But to say that if my car breaks down in some rough part of town that I'm at a high or medium risk of being hurt is not the reality for the most part.

Probably better if you left, Karen. You don't know what you are talking about.
I’m glad you put moon lake on the list. I grew up on the other side of moon lake rd. This place is full of drugs and poverty. I grew up hearing stories of people using pigs to dispose of bodies back there.
yeah, those backwoods are the place of nightmares. untold stories of misery
Stay in south Tampa only,or move out of the state and get a great job at a factory up north in the northern states
Lol thanks all this is helpful
Try the Riverview area. Still some very affordable housing in that area pretty clean for the most part close to the highways and it's up and coming and growing, close to Brandon too. Also Valrico and Seffner which are on the other side of Brandon are good areas too. All of these are South and Southeast of Tampa still in Hillsborough county. 😊👍
What about town n Compton ? I grew up there. Cool video. Thanks !!
The orange-blue building in this video is across from Belmont Heights in East Tampa:

I only been to Florida one time . Pamana I love it the beach beautiful the city to. I wants to go to Miami and Tampa Jackson . Sometimes you got to go yourself and check out thing.Because sometime places not as beautiful as people be bragging.Sometime hood not as bad
It’s Tampa make the wrong turn u in the hood make the right turn you in the party life we low key a dangerous city lol😂😂😂
Tampa has buses?
You were probably a low income person.
Lived in the heights myself by the river. Could be scary at night!
Town n country is nothing compared to seminole heights east tamp or west tampa.
@@tomjerry9447 exactly I live in Town & Country closer to the airport...its nice in this area very close to the water. Houses are expensive, too.
What’s scary about town and country I live there for about a year and honest I kind of want to move back
@@serenitymeetssound I do as well. Sucks that we get a bad look because of those places.
Thanks for sharing and being honest moving to Tampa soon so this was very helpful.
I lived in Tampa, FL for 2 years from 2019 to 2021 and could not get out fast enough. Crime is high, people do not know how to drive, and people are rude to you if you are not a Floridian.
Is Roble Park the same as Roble Heights?
I’ve lived/worked in Tampa for 35 years. This is an accurate video. This is why so many people are choosing to buy homes in Wesley Chapel, San Antonio, Brandon, Riverview, etc to get out of the Tampa area. But there are still places to buy in Tampa as long as you can afford it.
further out to be far from inner city crap
I used to live in Tampa, near Robles Park. But once I became a resident, I felt safe. It wasn't a bad neighborhood anymore, it was my neighborhood.
#1 Tampa Heights (Robles Park)
#2 Ybor City
#3 University
#4 Sulphur Springs
#5 Moon Lake
#6 East Tampa
#7 Armenia
#8 West Tampa
#9 North Tampa
#10 Cross Fletcher
Not to take away a view because the video creator brought up ALOT of good points in the video but if you're looking to buy a house in Tampa and wanted a quick reference there you go. But definitely worth the watch. His section on the Heights and Robles Park is incredibly interesting something I had never known. I won't spoil it but like I said worth the watch for sure.
Moon Lake is not Tampa
Tampa is just too expensive for too little
Hey do you have a video about the areas in between Tampa and Lakeland?
I lived in plant city for a while great town!..if u are looking to retire check out the lakes mobile home park!
@@angelasmith257 thanks!

#Respect&PerceptionIsVital4Change
Been in the area all my life. suitcase city is the worst. Sulpher springs is creepy and horrible also.
Sulphur springs not as bad as it used to be. Just gotta beware of stray animals if you gonna roam through the area. It's alot of stray animals.
Methner. The fruit bowl lol
Sounds like something off family guy 😅🤦
Hell yeah he did npr was bad for a while there
10:50 this is Clearwater on court and MLK I used to live on the block diagonal to this one, before that I lived in north Tampa by Fletcher and Bearss.
Alot of times drugs or alcohol could be a factor but not every time from what I've learned while working here
thanks for sharing your thoughts!
My pleasure!
Busch Blvd is pretty bad. Unless you were lumping that into the Fletcher or University area you can't overlook Busch.
Yeah its kinda the same area really
Been a native of Tampa for 59yrs..You are very close to being point on in your review, but I think you could replace 7 -10 with areas such as Grant Park, Jackson Heights and the area north of Hillsborough Av. & 34th St....not to mention Carver City, Port Tampa,Clair-mel, Riverview Terrace, Progress Village and Palm River area's.
Born and raised in North Tampa. This area was great growing up, but has gone down hill for over 30+ years. Would love to hear your take on the Riverview and Balm area.
Let me guess, do you blame it on blacks?

Oh dang, parts of Tampa remind me of the westside of Jacksonville.
I am so glad I grew up all around the Tampa area. Seriously. Also this footage made me hungry. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
I have lived all over the country including Tampa Bay.
Trust me Tampa is not that bad at all
Oh yeah, it definitely has some no-go zones but so does every big city and really almost every city. Tampa is actually one of the safer cities in America especially compared to the other cities with almost a half a million people
I stay like 2mins away from robles park and 5mins from ybor city and 8mins from the ybor groceries store
Nice
University is Cross Fletcher and the true worst part of that area is between Fowler and Fletcher. Right down 15th.
Tampa is the best city I have ever lived in. No violence compared to Chicago. I never heard of a bad neighborhood there.
Yeahs thats another one thats pretty bad
@@Volkswagenplanet dang, I guess I’m lower working class. Meanwhile, houses in my neighborhood are selling for half a million and more 🤨
@@Volkswagenplanet I am, on a golf course. Didn’t realize that was low working class
@@Volkswagenplanet I’ve lived and been in most of these places that are in this video, TT is nowhere near as bad as the mentioned locations
@@Volkswagenplanet as a young first time home buyer, I love the area and I think temple Terrace really is a beautiful part of the greater Tampa area. A lot of development is going on and I’m excited to see what’s next for this part of town. I just get a little defensive when some people try to add TT to these lists lol
