At first i thought it was hilarious how Frieza trained for 10 years straight, only to end up mentally becoming the very thing he hated: a Mon- err, Saiyan.
The scary part is that his transformation being black is canonically not an accident.
If i remember right, in the 'Resurrection of F' movie he said got got his "Golden form" as a result of wanting to mock the Super Saiyan transformation, so by that logic this man trained for 10 years to get stronger, had the option of picking the color of his transformation and decided to reward himself with an N-word pass...
Honestly, I really hope there's more to this transformation than that. It seemed like he wanted to do something different than just another Gold form. I think he went with a black form as a direct opposite to the Saiyans. The Saiyans gold aura is more light-like (as evidence by Yakon trying to devour Goku's Super Saiyan energy), and I think Freiza went with a black form to become the dark antithesis to the Saiyans.
