2:07:47 Garrett just earned so much of my respect with the way he handled this situation. He could have phoned it in, hung out with that kid for an hour at the skatepark, signed a t shirt or a poster, and sent him on his way. But instead Garrett shared a whole weekend with him, showed him spots, introduced him to friends (likely other pros), and even partied with him. Knowing that a man widely regarded as being the best in BMX was so caring and generous with his time makes me proud to be a part of BMX.
Huge shoutout to Garrett for being down to stay and talk as long as he did, Its so awesome to hear his story and see how humble he is today.

I have been a huge fan for, I don't even know, over ten years, and to get a long form video like this is amazing. Garrett is truly one of the most interesting people alive, he is so supremely driven and talented, but is also unbelievably humble and cool. A very unique GOAT.

cool hearing bro talk about the goodtimes contest at Flow, we were the local kids in 15 and under riding with him, remember him doing big ally-oop turndown airs and trucks even back then, pretty sure that was brown frame, yellow straight cable days haha. His dad was really cool too, always excited about garrett and bmx in general. year after that, 2005 Dirty east then Chenga's last comp and the rest was history from our viewpoint haha
