    Was good meeting you at the convention and thanks for the video. I hadn't opened the bottle of gland lure I bought from you there yet but I previously used a chunkier gland lure of varied color. It's always been harder to use it the way I wanted so I am anxious for the opener to give it a try.
    Thanks again Todd

    I am a trapper here in West Virginia I caught my first red Fox last year this will be my sixth year trapping. I have some success with gland lures on coyotes and bobcats. Thanks for a great video I appreciate it.

    Good video. I agree with you on consistency. A nice creamy texture is best. Carmen's lure was similar to what I see in your bottle. A lot of work goes into a gland lure.

    I use most cases lures and urine. You learn alot of animal behavior with trail cams.

    You said you put the gland lure in the hole. How much?

      Around 10 drops or dip a golden rod stem in the bottle and whatever sticks to it

    Can fox and coyote gland lures be mixed and still work

      @toddstrohecker  3 года назад

      Yes...foxes can be caught on coyote odors and red fox gland works well on coyotes

    Im new to trapping (central Pa) and i keep hearing about the not so good fox urine on the market but no one ever says which is good or bad. I bought some from F&T and noticed it's very dark and doesn't have much of a smell. Im guessing its not up to par?

      Without smelling it I really can’t give my opinion.

      It's basically smells like ammonia with a hint of bleach.

    Nice info I use urine of the bladders of the animals I catch 95% of them have nothing in them at all at the end of the year I'm lucky if I have about 8 oz of coyote urine in 8 oz of red fox urine I freeze it and use it next season I would like to have more but I don't believe that 95% of the urine out there is really from a fox or a coyote I used to raise silver fox their urine is not the same I also visited one of the biggest Ranch Fox Farms in the US for a weekend he new pretty much everyone with the fox farm said he can only think of one guy who actually collects urine. Imagine how many coyotes in pens and collecting the urine it would take if all the urine on the market was really from a coyote I would pay $75 a gallon if I was guaranteed it was pure real red fox urine

    Enjoyed watching your video. 90% of my sets are with glad lure. I would be interested in trying yours out. I'm from Maryland. If you will be willing to do a mail order. I make a fox /coyote bait. Called 911. It does great for me. We could trade if that is something you would like to do. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

      If you can get Bob Wendts it is good. He is in Indiana.

    How long do you let your glands rot until you can make the lure?

    • @toddstrohecker
      @toddstrohecker  3 года назад

      That depends on the environment and if they are agitated. I like them fully broken down and creamy.
