I live in Missouri and work for one of the counties here.
The back up generators for the County Bldg. I work in has a dedicated propane tank for the Generac generators.
I suggest maybe they convert to propane use and have their own tank.
What size propane tanks in relation to the genset size are y'all using and how much derateing of the generator is required for this ?
@@thatkajunguy8029 Good questions, however,I'm not the maintenance guy.
So, those are technical details I don't know, sorry.
I just know they're out there.
This is why i have a diesel generator.
Oh come on? What if there is a cold front and every heater in the city is turned on regardless of the presence of a home generator? Check y'alls gas bills?
You probably missed the fact that some generators were installed without notifying the gas company. That in itself affects available pressure in a respective area.
I could show you some math. But we both know how well that will go over. In the end... these clown home owners are at fault.
Prove me wrong. How many CFH of natural gas does it take to produce 50hp.
@@I_Am_Your_Problem expecting no interruption ever is just absurd, then to put extra unaccounted for usage on a system designed for a certain pressure will always cause an issue.
Almost all generator manufacturers has already moved to tri fuel units. Tha gas company can't, at this point keep up with the demand of whole home generators like the Generac systems and now the portables. It's just common sense.
It sounds like the gas company has not upgraded their system since 1944.
Right.. it is their responsibility to match peak demand for 10-20 year events.
Just tap the local taco bells sewer pipes and problem solved all the natural gas you could ever need.
Natural gas infrastructure is just as fragile as the electricity grid. It’s foolish to assume there will always be NG delivered to your home.
This makes me happy I don’t have natural gas lines coming to my house. It forced me to put in two 500 gallon propane tanks. I’m good for weeks now regardless of what’s happening in the outside world.
Get Solar mini splits for 2 grand. EG4 mini splits.
If it's going to cost the gas company they're not looking to spend their profits so it will be some time befor this problem is solved & sounds like yal natural gas will be going up soon so they can pay for their work to fix their infrastructure !!!
This very simple and the system was not designed to handle the volume that is required to run half the houses in the area. First did not get a permit and the meter on the home is not the one needed. Had a gasoline generator in Houma and Harahan since 2004 43 days of use total in that 20 years. Have a plug out side to hook it up and it works great. Gasoline and you only have learn and follow safety rules.
These home owners are not going to use some silly toy generator and run extension cords. I don't blame them. The solution is on site fuel storage. Maybe that is propane, or gasoline, or diesel. They will have to deal with the extra fuel management. Diesel is probably the best solution down south.
Bonjour hello
these people need an education on who E.D. White really was.
Funny, it always comes back to 'blame the customer and stick THEM with the extra charges.."
They bought a a bargain bin generator, yet they complain about losing power. Lol, lmao even
Bet you struggled clearing the 6th grade. Guess what when your demands outstrip the infrastructure capacity.... YOU PAY for the required upgrades, or go without the service. How's that for funny!
