This is not from gaming or social media. The kids were school bus surfing back in the 90s. My son did it and bout scared me to death when he told me much later. The sh!t they don't tell you until somebody gets seriously injured or dies. Sneaky kids think they're invincible. Smh.

Nah, this has been going on waaaaay before social media. The reason why you're hearing about it is because of social media. But, kids have been playing deadly games on the trains since the early 60's and lots have died.
RIP Bernard - killed 1977 tagging Coney Island Yard
RIP Cesar - killed 1979 by oncoming train J st Borough Hall
RIP Poppo - killed 1979 tagging, Bergen St, Brooklyn

I work for the mta ..I caught 3 Kids when they were about to surf their age around (13-15)must say they were very entitled & ready of what they were doing ..they even have the conductor key also subway magnetic lights (mta property) when i confront them they run away ..but on their way out they pulled the emergency brakes ….
They didn’t have an idea I saved their life that day …those people that blame social media are partially correct! ….

When I living in low income housing, and I moved back home for a while to end that experience, the place was filled with families that all seemed to lack one thing: a grown man on the premises. People in the comments saying "Raise your children" well more like stop making children when you don't have a partner willing to help you to raise them. There's a direct correlation between kids not doing great and no father in the household whether it's being into gangs and crime, doing poorly at school, or roaming around unsupervised after dark. For black kids the fatherless rate is at 68%, for Hispanics 50%, whites 28% and Asian Americans 17%. which is why I'm betting this teen was not Asian.

Yes this is foolish but the teen is still very young! Not gonna sit here and say a child deserved to die just because he made a mistake. Some of you have no empathy.
