the bit about the radio collector was definitely interesting, i really loved the Philco 20 that was behind him. though when he was mentioning cathedrals they actually only date back to 1930 when Philco started production of the model 20. as for the fate of them, cathedrals started to die out around 1935ish where manufacturers started to adopt the “tombstone” style case
Oh wow! Tell the radio collector he looks very young, vibrant, and happy! Like, 40 with some gray hair! He does not look old enough to have any memories of owning a radio in the 70s LOL!!! Living proof that when you do what you love, you love what you do, and it shows! Had a chuckle at the selectric balls popping off and ultimately being sold! And that spray paint job... was actually painful to watch, but good that it was featured on your established channel as opposed to early on in the channel lol Happy New Year Sarah! 😍🎉
It's good to reflect on the successes and failures we made. It's a great way to grow. I love you videos--they're informative and entertaining. Have a wonderful new year!
@@JustMyTypewriter Stop it! That's SO SPECIAL!! I am so impressed that it's going to be used on a regular basis and especially for Marriage licenses!? THAT just made my day! -- Ed --
I use Dupli Color’s Adhesion Promoter for every typewriter painting project (unless I’m hand painting with oil paint). I use it on both metal and plastic parts before using spray paint. It’s a clear primer that makes paint miraculously stick to it. I think the instructions say apply two coats before spray painting with you color of choice. But I do three or four coats, especially if the part I’m painting is scuffed and scratched. Replacement spray caps are also a life saver. I bought the ones meant for street art off Amazon and they’ve saved so many paint jobs from failure. I swear, half the spray caps that come with spray paint cans are defective.
Ha been there done that with the too impatient paint job. Less is more & slower is better. Good on you for fixing it (Jan deserved no less). Happy typing in 2022!
I am buying just now URANIA typewriter; from 1950. German brend and I'll see what I'll get :-) inform you off course. My collection now: Martisa 11 and UNIS tbm. All the best, Ivan from Croatia ;-)
Congrats on your past year of videos, keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Awesome, Sarah!!! I finally found your channel! Love it!!!

I think it's important to show a balance of things- and I did go back and fix that spray paint job. It was very educational
@@JustMyTypewriter Absolutely!
Great way to wrap things up. Looking forwards to the future.😁
Fails are good. They are how you learn. Good work.
Agreed- and with that logic, I should be learning a lot...
@@JustMyTypewriter Ha! 😊

Just curious if you ever sold the Sears typewriter... I might be interested in buying it 😊
I did! It took me a few months, but I found her a good home at the local court house where she's used on marriage licenses!

Thank you for the tip- that will be super helpful for my next project machine!

I'm happy to report that her paint was completely fixed, and it helped her find a new home!
Love your videos. 💙
I think most YT creators amass a video graveyard 😅 I’m still working on a video I started 5-6 months ago… Thanks for validating the struggle!
Well there's a learning experience :D
It's for a selectric 3. Yellow writing for 3 only. Ask m how I know.
Nice video, exspecially bag :-)
