G’day Megan, New to your channel. But like the content of past vlogs mate. Very interesting indeed. Like seeing other vinyl collectors record stashes. But don’t stop keep collecting mate. That’s the fun. I used to collect 45s back in the 80s.I managed to build up a collection of over 2000. But I sold them all off back in 2011. I had some big bills. I also owned a jukebox. But I miss my records. I’m not sure if I could start over again. I had a lot of super rare singles. The prices I paid back then were so cheap too. I had rock n roll, pop, country and tv & movie soundtracks. Elvis, Beatles, ABBA, Stones, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Madonna etc.Don’t know much about Crossley equipment. Back in the 70s when I was a teenager, the best record equipment was Marantz, Sony, KenWood, Harmon Kardon, Pioneer etc.Some of the crap stuff was Teac, Phillips, Thorn etc.But I do miss living through the 70s mate. It wasn’t perfect, but damn them times were sure groovy and hip.(Ha,Ha) I usually paid about $2.00 to 3.50 ea. AUD for a 45 record. Never again. Megan, it's about the sound quality, but more importantly it's about preserving the life of your records sweetie. First, Crosley record players use a ceramic stylus on most models which are the low end of a needle. Second and even more important is the tracking force (that is the weight pressure your needle puts on the record) are quite heavy compared to Hi Fi needles that track at a weight less than half of these Crosleys. I did not watch this whole video yet but when you get the extra cash look for a used turntable and pick yourself up a Audio Technica model VM520EB or a Ortofon 2M red phono cartridge. These are two good starter cartridges and you will notice a major improvment over your Crosley. You may need to get a receiver with two bookshelf speakers to go with your turntable but trust me you will thank me for it. Records are nice show pieces but remember first and foremost they are still the best sound source for music and you must play them on equipment to bring that out. I am not flaming you or belittling you. I am sincere that I would like you to experience the potential on how these vinyl discs will sound. Take care!!! Phil

@MichaelWood My cousin loves Billie so I got her all three of Billie’s albums on vinyl they’re her Christmas presents.
For Christmas this year I’m going to get my cousin Kechette an Audio Technica Lp60xbt with all three of Billie Eilish vinyls she loves Billie Eilish and she wanted to go to the Happier Than Ever tour but she couldn’t. I’m getting her the red vinyl for Don’t Smile At Me glow in the dark vinyl for When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go and the blue vinyl for Happier Than Ever vinyl
my record player sounds perfect, i also have a crossley and it hasn't messed up my vinyls
@jhanya maybe not now but in future please upgrade to an Audio Technica Lp60xbt because as you keep spinning your records on your Crosley it will mess them up
Actually victrolla is no better than Crosley. You could probably find a classic player for cheap out or on sale. I had a crosley one but then once it scratched 3 of my discs i changed to a better turntable. Just saying but if it works for u, u do u

Yes there is. Crosley suitcase turntables lack a counterweight, which can lead to one of two things: skipping and bad audio quality, or excessive tracking force that can damage records. However, I do agree that the vinyl community can be assholes sometimes. For some reason, seeing a teenage girl spinning pop albums on a Crosley causes some people in the community to go apeshit.
@@bigboineptune9567 idk I’ve had crosleys since 2014. I never have had problems. I started with a cruiser and now have a voyageur and never have had issues?
@@bigboineptune9567 We get it. She is a younger girl that doesn't have a lot of money to blow on turntables/stereo equipment. You will be surprised at what can be had at garage sales or a used record shop that sells used refurbished turntables. New LP's run around $25-$30. Before you know it the cost of four LP's will land you a good turntable.

heads up!! if you’re still using a crosley, just beware! they are known for scratching vinyls and skipping over even if they don’t have stretched or fingerprints. i would highly recommend audio technica turntables! the one I have (AT-LP60) is absolutely beautiful, and it makes certain records that I played on my crossly sound much better than before.
I have heard that about Crosley, I’m hoping to upgrade very soon! Thank you for the suggestion I will look into it!

No it doesn’t, I got the sleeve from HMV

@unorganized_account I’m glad you agree with me that Crosleys and Victrolas are trash and ruin records. That’s what I tell everyone who are trying to get a record player I encourage them to get Audio Technica instead and they take my advice and buy it

Please upgrade to an Audio Technica LP60 record player it's the best one
Give her some time to upgrade, it took me three months to get a way more expensive record player, not everyone has that money
Sorry but LP60 is really waste of money. If you wanna budget record player, get yourself at least LP120. LP60 is same stuff than those all in one players like Crosley Cruiser. No counter weight, no anti-skate system, not anything you can adjust or control. With 350$ you can purchase a good starter set up for yourself. Record collecting is not cheap hobby and the player is not something you wanna save money from. Believe me.

@@nursemain3174 well it depends what you consider as good. I explained in my previous comment why i would not recommend LP60. Let’s put it this way, you can drive 2000$ car but it’s not a good car just because it runs. Same in record players. There is plenty good youtube videos about record players and plenty of information about why you dont want to buy under ~250$ player. It’s simple as budget players destroys your records. And when you have one of kind records, records that cost hundreds of dollars, you dont want to destroy them.
@@nursemain3174 and im not saying that everybody has to spend lots of money in record player set ups or in records, but please, dont give people wrong information about players that are not worth of the price. As i said, go read about players, how they work and wide your knowledge.

I film on my phone and edit with iMovie

Fucking hell! I do the same with liking at least more than half of the album HAHAHA OMG!!!! I buy it first on cd and If I like it that much I get the vinyl. Already got my copy of Positions Vinyl :D
