Wait, this might be huge. some people can't actually get their face to replicate the feelings that they have, if you have a tool like this you might be able to use it to convey emotion on your face. It might be worth talking to someone about patenting it, or if not at least getting donations or sponsorship this could make a big difference for those of us who are disabled and have either limited mobility in the face or don't naturally express what we are feeling.
I think patenting specifically would be bad for a social good operation cause then its illegal for anyone to use the technology without a signature, but gathering support is still a great idea
@@alkeryn1700 You actually can patent an algorithm, I remember hearing about a method to turn arbitrary data into a binary decimal number that isnt really being used by the patent holder so now noones allowed to use it. I also recently learned that h264, an extremely popular video codec, is patented too. Such that if you want to have a commercial product that generates or transcodes or plays back video all to a high degree of quality and compatibility, you need to have the group sign off on your project. Idk if you can tell but I have a bit of a negative opinion on patent and copyright law.
I like this idea, I didnt even think of the implications. Holding a patent doesnt make it illegal, it is good if you know people will want to use your technology. People can ask to use the patent, or pay royalty. However, first step is to check if it's not already covered by an existing patent. They may be technology that is doing similar stuff. You may only be able to patent the specific method if you havent already made it public domain.
Interested in the actual hardware myself. That kind of information is crucial to getting people onboard. If people have end to end solution with minimal tweaking they will try it. And nobody wants to spend money for the interface and learn that they can't have the same effects.
My friend was using a Muse2 in the video but he also got similar results using his Muse S headband. added a section about that on the readme, lmk if there's anything I can explain more clearly
I'd also be interested to see how these kinds of things could apply to non-standard avatar features, like tails, wings, and animal ears
i believe ive seen videos of people with their own projects experimenting with that!!
found a video about that
try searching for " Furries are changing Virtual Reality with MIND CONTROL"

you can't patent an algorithm.
let alone a concept, patents have to be very specific.
@@alkeryn1700 looking at the gaming scene, you can patent just about anything for the lulz.

it wouldve been cool to have like a sidebar showing whatever process is happening that allows these expressions
Dang Hash I didn't know you were pioneering things haha that's awesome!
THIS IS SO COOL WTF im staying tuned for sure
God this is actually so amazing. I can't wait to mess around with it myself!
Incredible!
This is amazing! Keep up the awesome work!
Big THONK = big expression, noice
Awesome stuff man
YOOOOOOO
That'a amazing!
this is neat, definitely subscribing to that
Okay but this could go hard for people with disabilities. Imagine an alternative communication program that you could control with your brain.
Very cool stuff!
now let me blow up pancakes with my MIND
"My fucking pancakes"
I think I heard of a similar concept before. I remember a shooter but I'm not sure
you should make a tutorial on how to set this up, early bird gets the worm
make the game audio mono for vrchat videos
Will do next time! first time recording VRChat with audio haha. too focused on making silly faces
HIIIII hash first you show up on my reddit now my youtube lmao
Furries making the world a better place, as usual
I wonder, if this concept can be applied to fbt. Awesome project btw.
What eeg device was being used in the video, I'd love to look into this more. Not many seem to be very comfortable looking with a vr headset.

@@HashEdits Thanks! This actually helps a lot. I might actually get one of those myself
i know these people :3 ALSO RINDOOOOO I NEED THAT
foveated rendering using an eeg, by predicting eye position.
What's the easiest yet complete hardware I can use that's compatible with this? I checked the documentation but it is a bit confusing for me.

Great, I love the idea and everything, but....
I have no brain cells to use it!!! (;-;)
Can we get a headset that doesnt suck first ? Good controllers maybe ? At least not blurry compressed messes right ?
cope
Entirely different fields of study bud
My friend and I have bigscreen beyonds and we're pretty happy with it!
