Very subtle observation here, but notice Aemond says “she’s your future queen.” Its small but telling. The plan to disinherit Rhaenyra was already in motion; the kids have been in on it since before the Vhagar incident or anything hostile took place. They were never going to let Rhaenyra take the throne.

    • @pg1448
      @pg1448 Год назад +130

I mean put yourself in their perspective. They are the kings legitimate sons but they are not first in line for the throne officially against the tradition that has been upheld by every previous generation and is practised throughout their kingdom solely due to their father. It's effectively them who have been disinherited by an absent father who clearly prioritizes his daughter and by extension Aemma's bloodline over that of Alicent's. Viserys tries to install not only his daughter as heir but even her bastards. His favoritism becomes egregiously apparent by his reaction to the maiming of his second son by his grandson where he shouts at his badly injured and permanently disfigured son because he insulted his grandsons. You don't really need anything more hostile to turn your sons against you, he treats them like second class Targaryens, he also disrespects their mother (calls her "Aemma") and that is already provocation enough. So in Aemond's mind his brother is the legitimate heir and has always been and his sister is to be his wife and thus the future queen and his father can go f*ck himself.

@@pg1448 The tradition is changed when the king declared it. It was not Rhaenyra who started to claim. Viserys won that throne by selection. Though he got the throne for being male voted by noble lords still it was not mentioned technically why he got the throne. That technicality is where the conflict began. Greedy people like Otto, Corlys Valerion and in the end bitch like Alicent who manipulated the king or forced the king to something terrible.
Please again don't justify Alicent. Deep down she always wanted what Rhaenyra had. But when she was denied still by becoming queen, she decided she will make sure only the male line will continue which was her son.

    “Hand turns loom”
-Referencing the Hand of the King (aka Otto Hightower) who played a pivotal role in kickstarting the Dance
“Spool of Green, Spool of Black”
-Referencing the Green and Black factions, the Targaryen family divided
“Dragons of flesh, weaving dragons of thread”
-Could be referencing dragon riders on top of their dragons when they battle against each other, since the act of weaving thread together looks like a “dance” of some sorts as the thread moves up and down and intertwines. I’d also like to think that “dragons of flesh” mean LITERAL dragons like Syrax, Caraxes, Vhagar, etc., while “dragons of thread” could mean the dragon riders. The dragon riders aka Targaryens have clothing with a lot of dragon designs/motifs. What is commonly used for clothing? Thread. Hence, why they may be called “dragons of thread”.
-Could also be the other way around where “dragons of flesh” are the dragon riders since they are the ones doing the weaving/controlling of their own dragons. Hence, this makes the “dragons of thread” the actual dragons themselves.
    Just my interpretation!

      1. “hand turns loom”, I’m not quite sure. Perhaps she means the transition of Hand of the king from Lord Strong back to Lord Hightower coincides with the beginning of further division within the House.
      2. “Spool of green, spool of black” refers to the two camps that House Targaryen has split into. Greens: Alicent, her father and her children. And Blacks: Rhaenyra, Daemon and her children.
      3. “Dragons of Flesh weaving Dragons of Thread”. Dragons of flesh means real dragons, and Dragons of thread refers to the Targaryens themselves. The thread of their clothing and their banners depicting dragons. Probably foreshadowing the bloody civil war (Dance of the Dragons) the Targaryens will plunge Westeros into and how their Dragons fate is intertwined with the fate of their house.

@@plaguedoctor605 And Daemon gets to decide who is a Targaryen and who isn't? The Greens are Targs in their own right, they don't need some external validation by other members of House Targaryen anymore than Daemon does. The Greens dispute that Rhaenyra and her bastards are rightful heirs to anything, they argue the throne is Aegon's birthright but that doesn't mean they are loyal to house Hightower, they are loyal to their own separate branch of House Targaryen. Otto doesn't want to bring house Targaryen down, he wants his grandson on the throne who is Targaryen in blood and name. Aegon, Aemond, Helaena and Daeron are all dragonriders who fully identify as Targaryens, who practice incest and them wearing green all the time is show invention.

@pg1448 yes and this is a clip of the SHOW ergo I'm talking about the damn show. And it's VERY damn obvious Otto only cares about the fact that it's also HIS blood that's gonna be on the throne too because also why the hell would he send his young daughter over to seduce the damn king!? Explain that one? What possible reason, besides personal gain, did Otto have for sending Alicent to 'comfort' the king that then led to marriage and more heirs and caused this whole damn war in the first place!? Because pretty sure the Dance more than likely could've been avoided had Aegon and his siblings never been born and they would've never been born had Otto not used his daughter to seduce the King when he saw an opportunity for his blood to be on the throne.

The casting agents having no idea about how genetics work when casting people for the same roles at different ages... Might as well have made them different races. XD

are they of different races and ages here? For example, the actor who plays Almond is younger than the actor who plays Aegon. Also samle concerns their adult versions. So that's right.
Aemond looked older than his years according to the book, what's the claim? The authors did everything according to the canon
