Viserys tries to install not only his daughter as heir but even her bastards. Now she has nothing and will have something horrific happen to her. She's a character that only exists to suffer at this point. The prophecies themselves are confusing, difficult to understand. The dragon riders aka Targaryens have clothing with a lot of dragon designs/motifs. What is commonly used for clothing? Thread. Hence, why they may be called “dragons of thread”. -Could also be the other way around where “dragons of flesh” are the dragon riders since they are the ones doing the weaving/controlling of their own dragons. Hence, this makes the “dragons of thread” the actual dragons themselves. Just my interpretation!
I think the symbolism of the spider here is that the spider is a weaver and there are references to the loom and to thread, and fate is historically depicted as a thread. A tapestry replaces the mechanism in S2's introduction. One aspect of Helaena's character I like was her being unafraid of bugs and weird hobbies.
Fitting that she's holding a spider that can also weave their own threads and webs. She was also embroidering a spider in the ninth episode, which I found interesting.
