I was living in Seattle at the end of the grunge craze and I’d never heard of these guys. Made a business trip up to Vancouver, British Columbia and heard these guys being played in the rotation on FM rock radio along with Collective Soul. It changed my musical tastes forever.
love hootie and the blowfish. i remember in 1997 when this band came to indonesian, doing a press confrence and performs in 'hard rock cafe jakarta'. at that time i'm a photographer from one indonesian magazine. i meet one journalist and now he become my husband. now he's one of indonesian author, historian and cultural observer, and i'm an editor and author. years roll by so fast.
There's not one Alternative Band that can play some great soul rock ballads like Hootie and The Blowfish like the 1980s. But these songs they had were the best from Cracked Rear View. Cracked Rear View was and always will be my favorite album.
I’ve watched this vid a 1000 times and I’ll watch it another 1000 times. I would have liked to have seen them at the Moon Palace in Mexico this year but I already had tix to DMB at the same place!
this is one of the best bands you can see live ! i saw them in a small club in Greensboro NC the blind tiger ,,,,,,, they play their heart and soul out at every show that i went too,,,,,,,, they played baseball fields and the house of blues here in north myrtle beach ,,,, saw this show here it was great,,,,well guys this is a long way from walker ave ,,,, you all payed your dues
Saw them in Liverpool in '99. Totally amazing...great local support band called Treehouse. Drive all the way from Essex to Liverpool for it (6hrs). Worth.every.single.second!!!!
_The live shows are always this damn good. Excited for the 25th anniversary of 'Cracked rearview', and the 'Group Therapy tour' commensurating real soon._
Great reproduction of one of the most underrated songs on CRVM. The piano seemed an octave lower than the studio version and the violin presence was missed but still a good performance.
Without doubt one of the best bands to see live. You leave having enjoyed every second. My mate who suffers depression said Hootie gigs should be prescribed for depression. He was high as a kite after the Group Therapy gig in Glasgow
Looks like time has punished that 🤠 hat. Great concert guy's. I wish I could be in Charleston SC to see it. My whole weekend is Darius and the blowfish 👍😎🇺🇸
_This was their annual 'Homegrown' concert for Charleston, SC. Their final album, 'Looking for Lucky' really brought the band full circle. Today, we're anticipating their new release fourteen years later, 'Imperfect Circle', which is out November 1st, 2019. The album is slated to be their very best yet, certainly parallel to 'Cracked Rearview'!_
I know your post is old but just curious what you thought of the album “Imperfect Circle”? I haven’t heard it yet but after reading what you wrote I want to.
@@Trouble-Clef _It's one of my favorite albums. Since I'm a diehard Hootie fan, Darius could sing the phone book, and I'd be buying his music. As a collective, Hootie and the Blowfish are my favorite 90s band, period. Favorite song, Miss California._
@@rubyred93chev I love them as well. I wore out my cassette back in the day. I wish they’d tour up in Canada so I had more opportunities to see them live!
Great show last night at MSG. Crowd was totally into the show. I met friends who saw show at Saratoga, NY last week. I posted some video’s on my you tube channel.
Darius IS A TRUE Example that All Lives Matter! It's A waste of time to Hate, and A time to Love Everyone! He Loves His Band, His Fans, and His Family! Hootie and the Blowfish Are Awesome!
That’s why I love music. It speaks all languages with its melodies, and is the only thing on the planet that can make you feel exactly what it wants you to feel. When my brother died my friend took me to Vegas a month later to see The Who, Edgar Winter, Alice Cooper, and Deep Purple. It was exactly what I needed.

The oddness when he calls out against racism to the whitest crowd anyone ever saw in a concert. But actually really cool. I guess his entire Career he been fighting racism down just by being there and making people love him cause his talent. Such a fun band.
Actually, it’s not odd at all. If he’s going to call out racism as he does in a few of the songs and when he says it then a white crowd is exactly who he should be calling it out to. I’d be pointless otherwise.

They are touring together again this summer!
It's Friday and my plan is to go home, get some yard work done, and after that go to the basement and get drunk and sing along to this entire concert.
No fluff just good ole rock and roll
Was there. Great time!
I am a Heavy Metal Head since 1984. But I love Hootie since they came out. Such a good band. And I love the voice from Darius! Carry on guys!
I am also a metal head but I like a few other non metal bands. This is one of them ;)
it's nice to meet you and to be COMPLETELY honest i did do and/or probably will EQUALLY really LOVE both rock and metal
Same here, I think it's also nice to see everyone having a good time listening to some live music.
Oh, check out Darius Rucker covering nothing else matters by Metallica. You will be blown away!

Last concert I saw before Covid kicked in was Hootie in Birmingham UK 4th time I'd seen them about 25 years after the last one. Awesome
The last band I saw was The Stones in Seattle but I’d LOVE to see Hootie. Unfortunately for me they don’t come up this way.
