Thanks everyone for listening! I'm blown away by the responses and views. This was my first vaporwave remix made sometime around late 2015-early 2016. It's maybe still my favorite.
Just coming back to this and I gotta say, it's still one of my favourite modern examples of vaporwave. You managed to capture the original song's buildup and tension by emphasizing the skipping beat segments, but still making it unique from the original by having the guitar riff as the intro baseline. Getting huge Eccojam vibes. The blending in this really makes it borderline ambient music at this point. Good shit.
Thanks for your kind words! The amazing thing was this began as a joke with my friends. I ended up liking it so much that I released it. This was my first vaporwave track and possibly my favorite still to date.
I absolutely adore how you changed the song up to not only start with that beautiful guitar riff, but also keep little bits of it there throughout the song. Got hooked immediately. 👌
This song perfectly encapsulates the march of time and technology. Its optomistic, but fleeting. Much like the technological optimism and genuine excitement for the future experienced pre-2000
It was the last time shit felt real, the country got itself together after a decade of supreme upheaval, the 80s were what they described the 60s to be
For me, the 80s and 90s feel like the last age of prosperity before 9/11 changed/ruined everything for the working class. I could just be blinded by my age and look upon that era with nostalgia, despite the reality of the situation.
@@timevaporwave exactly, you still can feel the vibes on videos that were filmed the 10th of September, they had no idea it was all going to end 24 hours later
3:14 - the triplet delay was a happy accident. I put the delay feedback on 100% and you can hear every line of the chorus all at once if you listen carefully.

Came from your reddit comment. It's a shame that there are no stems from Tsme Impala, people like you could do incredible stuff if they had clear audio
Something about this song carries my soul away for a bit, gives it the warmest fucking hugs imaginable, healing it as its carried through the stars and then brought back to me, refreshed. And no, I'm not high writing this LMAO
It’s been a year and I still listen to this constantly. Do you have any unfinished remixes you did of this? Or an extended version? I’ve listened to an uncomfortable amount of “Let it Happen” remixes and this is STILL my #1. I love it, so much. The transition at 2:20/2:28 is perfect...
Thanks for listening! I wanted to focus on the part I liked the most. A lot of vaporwave mixes, as great as they are to listen to, just slow the song down and let it play unedited. I did a lot of work to make this an engaging remix, to play upon the memory of well-known song, and make something new with it.
There isnt a single word to describe how good this is. Also can you remember the settings for slowing it down? It has been a while so im not expecting you to remember but it would be great if you could tell me :)
Thank you! I'll have to do some configuration in my recording software to figure out what I did, since I have long lost the studio files :( Roughly though I pitched it down -3 half steps and slowed it down somewhere between 15-25%. After that, I added a ton of effects: EQ, distortion, compression, delay, reverb. Also did some sample chops with the guitars in the middle section. The final section was taking each four-bar loop of the chorus and duplicating them in layers. The first four bars would duplicate repeatedly, then the second four bars would duplicate after playing, and so on, until every four-bar section of the song can be heard at the same time. Then it was layered with a triplet delayed duplication of all of that. Hope these production notes help! I may do a tutorial on it one of these days.
I was not But I decided to give up what I was doing and I didn't do any work this week and played cod mobile And watched youtube And now I feel good I was just not feeling good at that time
Absolutely. Although I will say, they've only experienced the world post 9/11, and that world really sucks. Maybe I just see it through the lens of nostalgia (this is vaporwave after all), but I felt so much more hope for the future in the 90s. The middle class was vibrant and society as a whole was mentally healthier. The pivotal moment in American society was 9/11. Everything seems to suck a little bit more each day since then. I've done a lot of listening to NEWS AT 11 over the years and it just encapsulates the relative innocence of the pre-9/11 world so well. I've got a video of me playing guitar to 8:46 AM, and I've also got sister projects, 2019 and 2020. 2019 was capturing the relative innocence of that time before COVID, and 2020 is a highlight reel of the worst news of the year. ruclips.net/video/OKC5epOQ_ns/видео.html

There's something incredibly enchanting about 70s/80s america.

This is really really good! I really appreciate how you changed the order of the song and mixed it up so nicely! I gave you a sub ;)

Vaporwave and Tame great when separate, but when they combine they make morning time epic.

1:57 15/16 accent over a 4/4 tempo thanks to another happy accident. I accidentally shorted the loop by 1/16th note before duplicating.
