I drove it for the first time the day of the Covid lockdown and to a certain extent your show has been very helful. This video is a real testament to Ian Tyrrell's supurb skills as an automotive " surgeon" who is a cut above the day to day automotive tech who is not blessed with such a fundamental insight into the inner workings of a Countach which Ian described very tactfully, as being quite variable with regards to the overall integrity of Countaches as vehicles of this calibre might be expected to perform over the life of such a specimen. Congratulations Harry and Ian for the spectacular treat that was such a delight as Harry was utterly blown away by the transformation of his car under the very capable hands of Ian Tyrrell and his shop mates who might also have had a hand in the final upgraded Countach.

Extremely blessed to own a piece of art such as this!! I was the teenager growing up in the 80’s that had numerous Countach posters on my wall, so they were my closest I’ve come to owning a Countach for myself
I was born in 1966 and also grew up with posters and models all over my bedroom as a kid. When I was 14 one of my fathers friends bought a new Countach, and when I asked him what it was like, he said the sound of the engine and the speed were incredible, otherwise it was a rolling nightmare. It left him stranded 18 times in 6 months, and this was with “expert” care at a well known Lamborghini specialist in Connecticut (the dealer was even worse for service). The final straw was when the engine went up in flames when he was driving on the highway at 80 mph. He got out of the car fine, but it was burned beyond repair.
You two need to go on a talking tour, you bounce off each other so so well and have such a rich history and experience of the motor trade. I would pay money to come and see it.
Thank you Harry and Iain for restoring and preserving this wonderful historical machine, and for sharing the journey. I have no doubt that Harry will drive the living hell out of it the way it was meant to be driven, and enjoy every minute of it.
Jensen takes me back . There was one this colour a couple of houses away in the early seventies . BOAC pilot's wife ( air hostess ) whizzed around in it .
Harry, seeing and driving your Countach was like watching you meet an old girlfriend and falling in-love again. The cheesy smiles and mannerisms were epic, to say the least. Congrats to you and to Ian. Drive in good health.
It's a remarkable video. The middle with anxiety, the beginning with uncertainty and fear and the ending with the glorious excitement of the discovery. A strong pledge for Iain Tyrrell extraordinary skills. Yes. The ticket needs to be salted, since it will necessarily include both the reconstruction of Harry's Countach and his faith in it... Indeed. You are again a young boy discovering his favourite toy...
Harry, It was great to see you so excited to be getting your car back. Mr Tyrell and his team did a fantastic job, we know that by the sound the car made after he had repaired the Gearbox...... It was like all your Birthdays in one day. Lucky you and thanks to you, Iain and his team for the journey we followed
Fantastic! The looks on both your faces during the test drive show the passion you have. I swear you could almost see your heart racing after parking up. Looking forward to seeing more of the Countach now.
The Countach is not a user friendly car but what hampers it most is the state of it's tune and given what I've learned from this channel and Curated, when they are fully sorted they are amazing cars to drive.
Just clocking the cars in the background in Iain's workshop is always jaw-dropping. I spotted three Miuras in there. Anywhere else that RS Turbo would be the standout 🙂
And I think I saw a classic Mini Cooper S outside as they left on the test drive - dark blue with a white roof. Nice to see there's quite the variety of cars, not just the exotics. 👍
I’ve always thought the Countach looks best in classic red, but my eye keeps on going back to the yellow one here. Like many I believe…I don’t think yellow is a good color for most car types, but on the Countach it’s a different matter. I think I prefer it, maybe it’s due to the flatter body panels? As yellow looks good on an Esprit too.
Some Ferrari’s look awesome in yellow too, I prefer black or white for the contach tbh But each to there own would be boring if they were all the same colour 😂
The fun thing about bonkers cars like the Countach and Lamborghinis in general is that they lend themselves to bold colours. The yellow looked really great. If you're mad enough / rich enough to have one, you might as well have it in a bright colour. There are other prestige marques that definitely don't suit dramatic colours like a Lamborghini.
Whilst I don't have a strong preference for a Coutach's colour - I'm so glad they did not use what is currently referred to as the 'German Rainbow colour palette' - a palette that consists of White, Silver, Grey and Black, It's like viewing cars through black and white photography. I recently visited a BMW dealer and to my astonishment all new cars in the showroom were painted white, silver or grey - now that is boring.
@@georgebettiol8338 I concur. I really don't understand the current trend for that grey colour, looks like primer - they forgot to put the top coat on...
It's the dream scenario for any car guy with his car coming back after lots of work (and money) in a state that makes it feel almost new again. All the little problems, noises, and irritations gone and a nice little performance upgrade to boot. Well done, Iain and congratulations, Harry.
Nice to see you boys getting along. I may be reading a novel into a pamphlet but I was sensing a little bit of...friction in a couple of your previous meetings.
The contrast before and after is undeniably striking. While I may not particularly fancy this rugged, 60s-style, tractor-like vehicle on wheels, there's an undeniable allure when it revs up, freely inhaling air and petrol, producing a satisfying burble!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the gorgeousness of Harry's Lambo' colour scheme is the reason why my (Rosso Corsa'ish) ride on mower now has gold wheels.
I always find it incredible that we get this sort of content for free. Never in a million years would terrestrial television or streaming services be able to provide this sort of entertainment to proper car enthusiasts. Thank you Harry

Love this part when everything just harmoniously works! Another great video. Countach is now a Crown Jewel in Harrys collection.
You two need to go on a talking tour, you bounce off each other so so well and have such a rich history and experience of the motor trade.
I would pay money to come and see it.
The two best content creators on RUclips. What an amazing transformation!
Absolutely love this video! The joys of driving a real machine!
Harry is one happy customer! Ian’s ability to tune these essentially one off cars is incredible. Great tandem.
What a machine...
The very first car poster i owned too.
God, the look on Mr. Tyrrell’s face as he hears the chattering gearbox, too much!
This was the car that was on a poster on my bedroom wall back in the eighties. Still love it today as I did back then. Looks awesome!
Harry, seeing and driving your Countach was like watching you meet an old girlfriend and falling in-love again. The cheesy smiles and mannerisms were epic, to say the least. Congrats to you and to Ian. Drive in good health.
Happier than a kid on Christmas morning, this is what pure automotive passion looks like 👍
What a fabulous sound from that engine!
Honestly, I’ve never seen Harry so pleased - that car must be perfect right now.
It’s like getting an instrument worked on - just splendid.
It's nice seeing a happy Harry.
Congratulations Harry and Ian in getting the Countach to such fine level.
The sheer joy came through loud and clear, could not stop smiling.
Some Ferrari’s look awesome in yellow too, I prefer black or white for the contach tbh
But each to there own would be boring if they were all the same colour 😂
@@georgebettiol8338 indeed it is.
While I may not particularly fancy this rugged, 60s-style, tractor-like vehicle on wheels, there's an undeniable allure when it revs up, freely inhaling air and petrol, producing a satisfying burble!
can't wait to see her in action in upcoming vids! running like a dream!
You just know by the look on Iain tyrell’s face that he and he’s team are top of their game!!!great video harry!
This has been long and very worth the wait. My two favorite RUclipsrs together again. Cheers
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the gorgeousness of Harry's Lambo' colour scheme is the reason why my (Rosso Corsa'ish) ride on mower now has gold wheels.
