i just got a black 2007 zx6r this winter as my first bike... I can not wait for the snow in Canada to go away!

R.E. awsome! I'm considering getting one as my first bike, theres an 07 in my area for $4500 and it only has 11k miles. its really clean
As long as you have throttle control I say go for it
The weather in Canada allows so little time to ride bikes. Plus compare to how much the insurance is, it's really sad
I think the buying guide videos of used bikes are way more interesting for the majority of the MCN viewers, because the majority can't afford a brand new sports-bike. Me personally, I really like this buying guides and i would love to see more of them for many more bikes (like the other 600 sport bikes, or even budget tourers like the bandit, gladius, xj6 and so on)

I have this bike in racing green - and it kicks ass!! After 6 years as a loyal Yamaha man I changed to the ultimate... Better than heaven
ive owned this bike for 12 months now, my first bike so cant compare to others.
I sold my Mitsubishi Evo 9 fq340 450bhp to fund it thinking that the bike wouldnt compare to a car of that calibre, boy was I wrong! loving the bike, amazing power and speed for a 600... As the video says it really likes the revs and you really need to keep it over 10k revs. The exahust is quiet at first but seems to have a 2 tone at 10k revs and sound absolutley amazing.
No intention on selling at the moment as theres no way ill even get top performace out of it.

10 years later and I've done the exact same thing, had my Evo X written off and it's funded getting my full licence and a bike

also I reccomend changing the tyres asap as they are really bad for cornering but not too bad if your just commuting and not worried about taking corners at speed. The bike steers awesome and is very flickable left to right also brakes are great probably the best ive ever seen. I regretably had to sell my zx6r and miss it dearly but can tell you guys considering buying one to go ahead and do it as they are a great bike that you will ride with a massive grin ear to ear...ride safe
@kyo120 - Yes, a person could learn to ride on this bike. I wouldn't recommend it though. It's much easier and safer to learn on a 250 or similar. If you do learn on a 600: safe location, safety gear, and start slow and smooth. Just because the power is there, doesn't mean you have to use it. No, you wont flip over or anything crazy unless you do something crazy like rev up and drop clutch.

i'm confused, where was the guide? "look out for the usual things" well that's relative to any bike, no model specific info to share?. everything in this video can be found out by reading an old review. a 2min video to tell you what you already know...
I think the 2007/2008 ZX6r has the best design compared to zx6r from different year. I really love it. Where can I buy the zx6r from 2007/2008????

I have it and I can tell you that this bike has age pretty well. The US version is down on power compare to the European model but an easy trick brings this bike on level with the rest of the 600 bikes. The only problem I have with mine, is perhaps that its a bit tiring in long rides.

@sford01 for bang on buck,this bike is a winner normally cheaper than the rest,but you would have to be a very good rider to see much of a difference

I owned an 08 in black zx6r and I loved it except for its ugly rear assembly which I replace asap, mine was making 106 hp at the wheel stock and after a pc111, jardine slip on and custom mapping I got it to 111.9 and smoothed out the torque curve and better bottom end also as these bikes have no power from 2000rpm through to 7000rpm also there is a weird spot inbetween 2000rpm and 3000rpm where it seems to almost have no torque at all and it bogs down sort of but the mapping fized it abit......
I respect Neeves a LOT, but surely a bike with a 20k red line, a lap meter and a really high centre of gravity was not made for road riding reviews. I would love to see a track review of this bike
@420League huh? This bike is 599cc. The 636 was from 2002 and was a special bike because it had 636cc which was quite unusual.

@JONATHANCABRALES8 R6 is more powerfull than the zx6? waw thats a first timer....I hesitated between these two and I went for the 2009 R6 becase it was THAT much more powerfull than the zx6r plus I'm sorry to say this but you simply cannot compare the quality of a yamaha with kawasaki....Looks are an opinion that I agree but to make an arguement over here I came from a 2004 R1 and changed to a 2009 R6 and it simply blew my mind! the new R6 2008-20xx is the best 600 supersport you can get.
Got one and it's the best zx6r on the market it's top speed is 172 mph

More 600 buying guides please!! And go into more detail. Even I could've put that video together with my NON EXISTENT experience. Come on guys, 10 minute video for each bike guide would go down really well and save hundreds of tree's from being chopped down!!

@sford01 its a fair bit cheaper then its rivals, and for the cash the above mentioned bikes are not that much better if better at all ( its all preferences after all ), the review is poor, but the choice of bike is fair as iv seem them go for as little as £3500, that's a lot of bike for the money all factors considered

Michael, are you reviewing this bike in this manner because it's the cheapest pricewise of the bunch of 600s from the recent generation? I know it's not nearly the best choice, as you and a couple other MCN reviewers concluded a few years ago. The Honda, Triumph, Yamaha, AND Suzuki were preferred over this bike. I would've much rather seen one of those reviewed since I am more likely to purchase one of those over a ZX-6R of this era.
