    You’re doing a wonderful job with this “new” training method. I don’t see Zara losing trust in you, she is just processing the new steps and things in her own way and she has to leave the uncomfortable situation to do so but she always comes back to you, so that shows she’s not losing trust in you.

  • @Brook.eq07

    Great progress, I just want to remind you to stay positive! Even with lots of spooks, you got her haltered and a couple weeks ago she didn’t even want you within 10 feet of her. That’s crazy! Great job! 👏🏻
    Also I completely understand because I own a donkey, and she has some trust issues. She hates when your hand comes out of no where, and she spooks to fast movements. Luckily, she’s halter broke though! Just takes 30 minutes to catch her lol. We think her trust was triggered after we had to rescue her from being stuck on ice overnight in a snow storm. We had to get her out with a tractor which lost a lot of her confidence…

    I own a OTTB so I understand the feeling of im getting somewhere and then there’s an episode of going backwards and you seem to loose trust with the horse and it’s like going 3 steps forward and 4 steps backwards!
    And it can be real frustrating.
    but you and Zara are amazing! You should really be proud of yourself. You’ve made a lot of progress and it’s amazing to watch. I hope nothing but the best for you! I can see that she trusts you. Y’all make a great team!🥺 hope your thanksgiving was good too!

    Just a random question but is there a specific reason you name all of your animals with the letter “Z”??? (Kazi, Zorro, Zazu, Zurreal, Zara) Even Xena is technically pronounced like a Z sound.

    • @GypsyEquestrian
      @GypsyEquestrian  2 года назад +1

      I don’t know why but I just having a theme for names - ever since I was little I liked x’s ans z’s. Kazi was called “Kami” when I got her and then I looked at her papers and her name was Kamikazi so I started calling her kazi. But I was delighted when I say the z in her name 😂

    It looks like Zara could benefit from some counter conditioning with you brining your hand up during haltering. For that you would need to give reward as the scary thing is happening. Like when you're reaching your hand up by her eye you give the reward at the same time. It helps the animal's brain to learn not to be scared of what you're doing.
    Sorry if I'm not explaining it well. Here's a video ruclips.net/video/BJlN5_xJMJE/видео.html You might already be past needing this info but I thought I'd share it anyway in case you encounter problems like this in the future.
