If they throw you off your game, use that to focus on what the crux of the critique is, if it's nonsense then it doesn't have any legs to stand on and you need not waste your energy/focus on foolishness.
      Remember, usually when someone puts someone else down, it's because they feel small, weak, or have no real power so they try to use their words to feel big. Typically I feel sorry for bullies because they have no real teachers showing them a good example and they become mentally handicapped.

      I had the immense luck of getting into MMA in the early 2000s, and for some reason Mark Coleman & Kevin Randleman's friendship is one of the little things I loved the most about that sport; I know it's not very important, but we all have these little things/details in our passions that, for some reason, resonate more with us than others.
      I would always be extra happy when one of them cornered the other, "Hammer House" forever \o/ even when they took Wes Sims under their wing, "The Project" was an interesting experience; watching the 2 of them trying to do everything they can for this dude that they randomly met backstage at a PRIDE event, they were amazed at his size/frame and when he told them that he wanted to be a pro-wrestler, they offered him to try MMA first.
      I know Wes Sims, even if he is never in a boring fight, didn't live up to the high expectations that a lot of people had for him... but he did his best; always managed to make fights entertaining... and that was always nice to see, even long after it was clear that Wes wouldn't become a world beater, than they kept getting him small fights in more modest events, and traveled long distances to always be in his corner;
      I realize that it kinda is a weird thing to keep up with, but that was one of the reasons that I kept checking out lots of these Ohio based promotions that would get "A whole Show" to headline their events.
      They never gave up on the dude and that made me an even bigger fan of them."The 3 Amigos" like it was said in that fun MMAWeekly interview.
      And when Mark Coleman needed a new hip, and Wes Sims launched a GoFundMe without telling Mark, who didn't want to ask people for charity, that was finally a way for all of us to give something back
      And 50.000$ were raised, that was a good time to be a fan. Mark Hunt gave 5K just by himself, great guy
      Sadly the medical expenses combined for the surgery added up to 100.00$
      (This messed up healthcare system is one of the biggest reasons that I left the USA to go live in France. I don't want my family to have to worry about money if they ever get sick/injured)

    • @masterchief-yj7yw
      @masterchief-yj7yw 4 года назад +11

      @saigonbond he has a better Record and more acomplishments than a hof like Maurice smith (who randleman beat), and you can't really call a former ufc Champion a journeyman (except for probably Dave menne), with how mma progressed he wouldn't do good in today's age, but back then in the 90s he was one of the best heavyweight fighters at the time, being a true Pioneer of the sport and Champion of the ufc during the dark ages beating legends such as bas rutten (they robbed him that fight), and an undefeated at the time predro rizzo, apart from being ufc champ, he won a vale tudo tournament in 1996, knocked out mirko crocop in his prime, and put a legendary slam on fedor during his pride fc run.
      He also was 15-7 at the time he knocked out crocop, 16-6 if not counting the robbery they did in his fight with bas.

    • @jdxn3364

    I don't know Mr Randleman personally, but over the years, even while he was still alive, the interviews other fighters gave of him spoke volumes. Such a humble and gifted athlete. Such a shame his induction came after his passing. It should've been earlier. But I'm sure he's up there watching. Thank you for putting it all out on the line, for the enjoyment of us fans.

    See how hard it is for Mark Coleman to talk about the death of a friend. They were very close, it is heard in a voice. I ran tears from myself.
