Very nice tutorial... ...could also mention that while the foot cover is off is a great time to add a piece of wood to the base of the foot petal. I like the low profile of a craft multi ply plywood, which tends to stay flat. This adds a heft to the foot switch and keeps it from sliding around. You could also add some router mat under it for the same reason you would use it when routing. It gives extra friction to keep things from moving around.
