    Was in the cheer squad 70's and my brother played in the Dandenong Colts with his son Robbie, went on to play at North Melb as was the zoning back in those days.

    I remember these days well, great nostalgia.
    I still visit The Green Table, across the creek regularly, it hasn't changed a bit.
    the Shinners name, and others, still comes up in conversations there, amongst locals

    Brilliant.....a real powerhouse team in the early-mid seventies from my memory as a kid in Melbourne at that time....Dandenong was on the Sunday m.o.d quite often around 75-77

    The mighty Redlegs as a junior my mum worked with Pat Flaherty's wife at Victoria Carpets and one Sunday i met Pat and Frosty Miller Chris Brease, Danny Hibbert, Bill Thompson and the other players prior to the team running out as i grew older i use to walk to Shepley Oval for their home games i miss them i loved this club

    Another thing ruined by the AFL, all part of their endless "tinkering' and "restructuring" to turn it into a TAC Cup team. 120 years of tradition and history all forgptten until a group of supporters got together to right the wrong.
    It's a disgrace. AFL never were interested in the sport, only themselves. Glad I walked away from football years ago, saw the writing on the wall.
