That's the thing. hunter have insane good dodge and parry chance and insane stats so they very good against melee. but dodge parry doesn't affect range classes until Mist of Panderia. also, we have no silence shot, we cant use traps in combat....@@TheCOrnbread4

I use a boar and I do what I call charge weaving with Flanking strike and bite. I actually macro Flanking strike with bite because they are on separate GCD (because it’s a pet. This causes me to do massive Burst in one attack I’ll also tell my secret. Charge gives the pet a large AP buff on its next attack. This works for Flanking strike but Flaking strike doesn’t consume the buff. So the macro give the AP for Both Flanking strike AND Bite. I’m literally the only one doing this.
Surv hunter needs big dps buttons to press, make the rotation interesting. Gap closer/pet knockback towards the hunter, combat traps. Nerf pet dmg but give it a short range buff for when hunter and pet are close to eachother. Some talents should be changed to make it more interesting, as pretty much all talents are defensive. We really don't need more tanks as the current pets can tank well enough. BM should be the closest to a tank spec. Imo hunter should dps.
It would have to a absolutely massive trash pack to be worthwhile. The 50% melee damage is just so hilariously low and on top of that it costs 1/10th of your mana pool.
Where melee hunter really shines is pvp, feels like a pseudo paladin one shot globalling clothies and winning 1v1 against rogue and warrior with deterrence
Hey, can you expand on the Carve being garbage? Its an instant 50% weapon damage (which is way more than Raptor Strike adds with its 34 dmg to next melee) for basically half of its cost. Not to mention it doesn't have target cap so in dungeons your DPS goes through the roof when you do big pulls.
It's good on AoE but AoE = trash fights so it's not really relevant. On single target it's just not as good as the BM rune. Also, the mana cost may have been halved but it still interrupts your mana regen, so it still costs us a lot of mana.
Haven't played hunter yet in sod but noticed that the new melee specialisation rune involved removing the cooldown of mongoose bite, isn't that useless or does mongoose not require a dodge in sod?
I just want to weigh in saying that tanking hunter could already work in classic, I comfy tanked 60 dungeons in blues on my hunter. For me the trick was proc weapons for extra threat and a screech + cower pet. With regards to dpsing on melee I feel like proc fishing for WF and weapon procs with wing clip might be be the way to go.
They also need tor ework mongoose bit and the other one from the durvival tree. They are just too low damage,proc chance only sgainst other melee,and mana consumption too high
I don’t understand how hard it was to just put 10 sec CD on lightning breath just like bite has to reign in the serpent pets. Problem would have been solved
Dude you are SPOT ON with the nerfs and the gaslighting of “buffing” so called “main abilities” while not even bringing them back up to launch version and them not being main abilities. They are just hoping players are stupid and guys like Sarthe just ate it up.
If they made hunters able to tank and let tank hunters take the Beast Mastery rune that would be badass. I could see hunters being both the MT and OT just with themselves and their pet. I'd totally try it out

Class balance is what they should do not just overpowered runes. Like hunters being able to use traps and wyrm sting in combat etc

Melee hunter just need a rune that make mongoose bite not requiring dodge and do good damage and boom it is viable
Yes. But also i feel like the talent tree needs more work. Th bm tree is just toooo too insane not to graph that as melee hunter

Wind fury fishing has helped me sky rocket the dps, thankfully my guilds fights have sped up and it has me pumping

I tried it. U go OOM fast, BM rune is 100% better
U can get lvl 25 worg that has bonud gm aura and bite rank 4 i think. U can gwt scorpio wirh poision ans groel for tanking

100% Tank hunter should be a thing. i made it happen in classic, and the pet was just like an OT for me with a demo shout at best XD
