I went to a gamestore to sell my disc copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PS2 (I have an extra cleaner copy with a case). They ran it through the resurfacer twice and it was a miracle that it worked. What made me happy was that it was the copy I grew up with when I got it. It was just unreadable due to playing it so damn much. Seeing it start up again made me so damn happy.
@@CapCitySmoker-py2ry well let just say how many times can you sell, buy and trade and retrade and between all of that how many times it has already been resurfaced many times, how many more times you think it could be done now
A little tip for everyone, Wiis have a widescreen option that you can access and enable in settings. It's also an option when you boot a Wii for the first time I think.
I remember being like 12 years old and having a bo2 disc that was completely fucked with scratches and the dude at my video rental store buffed it out for free . Bro was a hero to me for that
Had a disc of MKWii for 13 years that got really beat up, but still somehow worked. It finally gave up while playing it one time (game crashed, ejected the disc to find it was cracked). Luckily, I had another disc ready to go!
You can also just smear toothpaste on the disk, let it dry, clean off any excess toothpaste and viola! The paste should fill the scratches. (Note that it can only work if the scratches aren't too deep.)
When I was a child, I used to use some paste wax for cars to smooth light scratches on my CDs and DVDs. I wonder whether this way of buffing can work onto a Wii disk.
Knowing d k oldies this disk never actually made it to somebody's order And if it did , they're one of the lucky few that actually got a refurbished product
"for whatever reason, has a scratched rule of rose copy" buy another copy you say? $500/$1,000? no thank you (i don't really have the game but if i did and it was that bad i'd die
I needed this when i was a id, I had a Lego Jurassic park for my Xbox 360 and we had like 5 different copies because they all kept getting scratched and not working
I put my copy of new super mario bros u on abit of tea on the table and it didn't get past the intro screen, it's not scratched but has quite alot of residue
Very late response but you can use a soft cloth rag and some polishing compound. I suggest looking up a more detailed breakdown then what im giving you though, since there's different types of compounds to choose from. You can also actually apply a new layer of clear material on the surface and that sometimes works too I've been told.
I once buffed the scraches Off of a Wii Sports disc with toothpaste and a Microfaser cloth and it worked. Partially. The Segments Tennis, Bowling and Baseball weren't working as the wii couldn't read it anymore. The years after that, my disc didn't read at all. Ordered a new one😂 i am livestreaming it rn😂😂😂

They don't even clean their resurfacing machines.
Bro what 😂
@@wafflegaming4178 bros looking for any excuse to hate

They clean them with another resurface machine.
And you don’t even clean your room, it’s past your bedtime.
Who is going to resurface the resurfacing machines? Look at the filthy surfaces!
And what about the resurfacing machine that's resurfacing the resurfacing machine?
The quality you can't expect from dkoldies
I need this for my Extended Edition DVD Boxset of Return of the King.

@@nikhernandez8435 I have a car dvd player for long drives on trips and it just takes normal dvds not Blu Ray type disks.
Too bad resurfacing only works a few times before the disc is irreversibly ruined
If you have to keep re surfacing the same game, you're doing something very wrong

Same here but also my favorite not just on the wii.
There are so many DVDs from my childhood I wish I could’ve run through that machine.
See they clean their games.
That's called "marketing"
The videos are still a little entertaining tho :/
But they forget to clean the machines to clean their games
Even the resurfacing machine is in terrible condition

A Wii game is a DVD so stuff that works on standard DVDs would work on Wii games.
I didt know such a thing as a resurfacing machine existed. My mind's blown! I had so many PS2 games that were ruined by scratches!
Crazy these machines go for like $300 to $1000+ depending on which brand and which one you get

In this situation it doesn't matter much though as all that counts is it fixing the disc.
