Ido, I've been working on this movement for 6 months now, starting with the beginner variations and rotations into low bridge. I questioned whether this move was attainable for me, because it looks very difficult, but I trained consistently and today I got the full QDR circles going! You've done an amazing job of breaking hard moves down into pieces that build upon one another. That's a skill I've found rare in capoeira circles. I consider myself lucky to have found you. Thanks again!!
I really appreciate your comment: "I am no longer affiliated with any group. I am not a strong believer in the Group dynamics that has developed in Capoeira circles." It sometimes hurts capoeira how cliquey we can become with groups and cordas, especially in capoeira regional which is what I practiced. Constant shows and promotions sometimes interfered with solid training and patience. Injuries persisted. Now I'm away from my group and miss them. But not those stressors. Just the game.
Strangely, I find variation 4 the easiest of the lot! The technique itself is very easy actually. 1-3 require greater strength and balance to hold a more static posture.
If I suffer from severe joint laxity in my shoulders, do you think these movements are attainable goals? And when I say severe, I mean if I throw a baseball with any significant power, I will dislocate my shoulder :/
+Kevin Corso You should take his Corset Protocol course. It will teach the methods to develop the strength to control the shoulder joint. As well as all the other joints and the spine. Eye opening workshop, lots of hard work.
+satatay23 I want to do it so badly--he was in LA recently doing that but I couldn't afford it x_x One day I will, but until then, just gotta keep studying these videos & grinding it out myself.
That seems a very general statement. Absolutes like 'everybody' and 'nobody' aren't realistic at all... I love capoeira for capoeira itself and I am affiliated with a group.

variation 4 WHOA!! :D
thx a lot
Try to do variation 4 as slow as humanly possible. Then you will feel the burn. Especially in your rotator cuffs at the shoulder. ;)
Last one looks like a godamn seductive dance like heyy baby whassup??

what gropu do u train with?cdo?
Queda De Rins
lol wtf
Bruce Lee didn't believe in styles and look how far he progressed in his life.
If anyone has tips of variation 2, it'd be much appreciated
I basically can't balance and just fall over when I try to spin. I can head off balance though as in variation 1
that's the tricky part with it, everyone is different
