    One benefit of the Mt Smart test for Bokke coaches was they recognized the folly of starting the match with Marx and PSDT on the bench. Sia was also absent that day so it was a very different Bok side that played at Twickenham. AB fan and I am resentfully nodding my head at the commentary here as you are right, the 8 men up front win you the test, the backs determine by how much

If you just want to watch the tier one nations , we get that every year with the autumn tests, 6 nations and championship. Just watch the smaller teams and enjoy it for what it is. • @PauloJorgeMonteiro
    @PauloJorgeMonteiro Год назад +5

    I think the Boks management team are waiting to see how this team handles Romania. If van Stadden and/or Deon Fourie do not perform well, then they may bring in Dweba, otherwise they will risk with Pollard.
    Pollard may be brought in because of Libbok's lackluster kicking performance, but if that happens we are undermining Libbok's confidence.
    Dweba should be picked ASAP, because Romania will not be a great test for Deon Fourie at hooker and they risk damaging the 5 meter lineouts/mauls which is something everyone fears.
    If Deon Fourie comes in as part of the bomb squad and he starts missing the jumpers, then all of a sudden you have uncertainty at 10 and a disaster at 2.
    Bring Dweba, it will provide RWC experience and by recent calls he is the 3rd hooker.
    Trust Libbok and with only 10 tests to his name mistakes will happen and they need to help him during tough matches.
    I don't like the fact that the 6-2 or 7-1 split forces players to play out of positions consistently.
    I know that this is a game of forwards first and foremost, but to not replace a Hooker for a Flyhalf that can kick, seems a mistake.
    Trust the people you have picked.
    I sometimes think Rassie/Nieanaber love to micromanage everything.
    If it wins a RWC great, but if they don't then they will have a problem sooner or later.
    This uncertainty certainly changes the odds for the Boks.

    • @evanh8749
      @evanh8749 Год назад +2

      I think you are right. Think they are waiting to see how Willemse and Faf perform at flyhalf. Then how Fourie performs at hooker.
      Whichever position is more at risk with coverage gets the replacement. I for one think it should be a hooker replacement. Dweba has his moments where he can't throw. In that case similar with Manie, get someone else to do that job. For now we need scrum cover. Need to maintain that set piece dominance.

    • @tappie34
      @tappie34 Год назад

      Dweba is the player with the most scew line out throws in the URC which is why I think they are not backing him. Specifically for those 5m throws we need someone that can throw straight even if they aren't as good at scrumming and carrying as Dweba, because the props can pick up some of the slack there.

    • @evanh8749

The throwing in I agree is no joke, but, he has the opportunity to work on it. My other choice would be to draft in Grobbelaar who also plays a similar game with strong hooker fundamentals. Pollard may or may not come back........remember what Nienaber said......only if there was an injury to one of the flyhalfs would Pollard be considered to return for the Boks.....besides....we have Deon Fourie and apparently Marco Van Staden who has been practising the position of N02 as cover for both Fourie and Bongi so I highly doubt that Pollard will make an entrance in the 2023 World Cup

      Nienaber also said that any injury in the back row would be replaced by a midfield back. The bokke camp are constantly putting out contradictory statements.

    fully agree with how officials need to call these head clashes, and to be fully honest in my humble opinion, how has it even become a part of the law because there is just no way around it. a high forearm to the neck upwards is always easy to see if its intentional and is absolutely thuggery even if its accidental. because there's a skill gap there or just bad discipline on any defender's quick reaction when you are already beaten. a head clash is never intentional but always accidental because you don't need a skill to be tough or rough laying your body on the line when we play in the name of Rugby. this topic has never sat right with me after watching Angus Ta'avao getting a red for the Irish & AB test last year in Dunedin. absolutely ridiculous by these tiddly winks officials and an embarrassment to try solidifying any argument in these scenarios. if player chooses to play then continue the game, depending on the severity of the injury then you should make the call to send him for a HIA which covers player safety. instead, you give a red which is an atrocious decision that kills all fairness for rivals to battle on the biggest stage of their athletic carriers and a chance at lifting the ultimate goal writing history. this call from officials is criminal beyond a reasonable doubt that WR needs to relinquish this law effective immediately.

    Zelim being a bell-end at 40:10. You must seriously be blind or hopelessly biased to say that DDA is better than Esterhuizen. DDA fluffed some wonderful passing opportunities against Scotland, but these guys are such big fans of domkrag rugby.

    Gents, my opinion on the overzealous "safety" protocols is that history will likely repeat itself. Like rugby league and union split due to disagreements, so will this eventually. The elite rugby bureaucrats are appeasing non rugby enthusiasts and changing what rugby looks like in the name of safety. At some point, I forsee a rebel league split from World Rugby. Perhaps in the future, tag rugby will be a new international variant..

      I think Wales was a first class side but have had a few rough years recently. Welsh Rugby is having problems with its Youth System too, so hopefully you guys can sort it the issues and return to being a top team again. Good performance against Fiji (250 tackles is a heck of a lot) so maybe things are starting to get back on track again.
