Imagine if Noleen was still in Wentworth having a conversation with Georgie? We'd need subtitles lol
Cabcj Sims Yeah- and I'd have to slam my laptop shut if anyone came in the room - coz they'd think 'wtf is she watching?!!' Hahaha!
lol
OMG I just almost choked on my midnight "cuppa" that was the funniest comment I read today.
+Lisa Hirschbuhl to add: I in know way meant anything offensive to the way anyone talks it was more picturing the personalities together.
lmaooooooooo so true hehe
Margo should have split from Wayne when he asked her to strip, when he lost his job, when he came home with creepy drinking buddies, when she found out he was 2 months behind on rent, when he was into it deep with the loan sharks, or when she saw the big bald spot on his head. But NNNNNOOOOOO! she does a payroll job with Laurel and Hardy.
Then we wouldn't have a story.
Syed Faruque Awww, give her _some_ credit - the man is the sexiest man alive!! Muhahahaha!
lol
Syed Faruque that's funny... Hahahaha!
The big bald spot lol
Love the totally insane hostage, at one point I thought she was going to sing A Few Of My Favourite Things!
All together now 😂
Yes 🤣 she was utterly bonkers and needs a full time role 👍😀
😂😂
Lynn Warner s mum
😂
... amazing! how many people would delight in being caught up in an armed siege, lol! "we might actually be on the telly ", "how about a cup of tea, dear?"! priceless!
I just pmsl at that line 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Imagine her and Lizzie in a cell together 😂😂 and could you just imagine the scenes with Erica, Vera, Lizzie and her ? Funny as fook 🤣🤣🤣🥰😋
The other lady is playing her part really well, not having as much fun as Holly, but a good performance.
Doreen is the last person that should be calling anyone dumb.
Love how Erica tells Sally that the main thing about wentworth is rehabilitation just as margo is holding an officer and 2 little old ladies hostage.....
The siege storyline is so dull
The new prison officer female is dopey prisoner daphne 35:20 Graham, who cites pmt
The shop keeper's a legend 😂😂😂
like watching a sit com 😂
So much for no one getting hurt, Margo
The woman who owned the shop was hilarious, not phased in the slightest !
Can't see the trainee screw lasting long, she'll probably end up being transferred to Barnhurst or something.
I'm sure she was in this show before but I can't remember which character she was playing. Edit: just remembered - it was Lynne Warner's mother.
Sally Dean is Daffy Graham of the Barnhurst 5
@@ajs41 She plays a few other characters as well but is very entertaining as Holly.
@@ajs41 an Cynthia leech
"Give us what we want, or the old duck gets it!" Brilliant!!
Brilliant stuff. 'A cup of tea dear?' We might be on the telly.
Dor should be the last person to call anybody dumb.
Agreed. Doreen isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. She has got the cheek to Georgie a thicko.
Margo's probably the funniest prisoner to watch in the outside world, never fails to make me laugh
"I can't stand much more then this" The old girl is really funny. She's hysterically gone to pieces. This is the worlds worst heist. I can't help but laugh at the old girl. Ha ha ha
the actress is really shredding the scenery 😂
The cops in the standoff look like they're from the Beastie Boys sabotage video lol, esp the one with the tach and sunnys.
Does Margo need to keep waving the gun in the old birds face she's not going anywhere she's loving it 😂
I love Vera- that look on her face when she thinks she's been proved right.
Vera loves the background artists. They never answer back.
I used to really like Doreen, but she's been a real bully in this storyline, and what makes it worse is that the odd time she does see some comeuppance for it, she plays the victim. Intelligence is not something she should be having a go at other people for because she's a pretty black pot where that's concerned.
I really warmed to her when she stood up to Vera and put her in her place in an earlier episode, I thought it would be a character arc where she grows up and become a WOMAN, but she goes back to being a childish brat!
@@Ash-928 YEP! your right, I love her to bits as a rule, you
just want to give her a big cuddle Most of the time, But Just
Lately I just wanna give her a good Old Slap, LOL. OMG Great
actress though, She could be gut wrenching at times, One
minute She can make you Cry your eyes out, The next your
Laughing your Knackers Off, Then she makes you want to
throttle her LOL. But It's done so Realistic, Her Character was
so Believable, Great to watch.
The actor playing Sally Dean goes on to play Kaz's mother in Wentworth.
And Pippa in Home and Away.
She also plays pms blues woman from bonhers lmao
And daffy, later as a prisoner in h block wentworth
@@pixiepixie8114 ‘but me plants, Auntie May’ in floods of tears, every episode for months. A terrible character
Linda McCartney’s got in with the wrong crowd
😂😂😂
Classic Line From Wayne Saying Wheres A Pub Around Here He Do With A Beer
I found that siege ridiculous and quite boring, but the shopkeeper woman was funny staying in such high spirits the whole time 😂
"NOBODY'S GOING TO GET HURT " you know that means someone's definitely going to get hurt and shot
They mentioned Angie Dickinson ("Police Woman") and there's an "officer Dickinson" outside amongst the police. lol
This is why I am fine when Vera gets hurt. Totally deserves it!
Agreed. You only get what you give.
Funny how that naive young officer did her apprenticeship at Pentridge and that prison gets referred to constantly. It was a pretty tough place back in the day, housing the likes of Chopper Read,Ray Chuck Bennett and Chris 'Mr Rentakill' Flannery.
I'm an Aussie and to my knowledge it's the toughest men's prison in Victoria. I may be wrong as I'm from NSW but I don't think so.
I have been a HUGE fan of Prisoner since 1981. And in this past year, I have been through all 692 episodes 5 times already, and am episode 184 in my 6th run in 12 months.
One of my greatest wishes is to meet Val Lehman one day.
I can understand watching all the episodes once, because that's what I'm doing at the moment, but surely it would make sense to watch some other classic shows rather than watching this one so many times?
I do the same thing with my favorite shows lol
What with life, work and holidays I find it hard to bring myself to start up again. If I let this go for more than 3 days then 2 weeks go by till I give it a go again.
That’s intense........ you must not work or have kids....... I thought I was bad I’m on this 184 my first time ever watching and just started about 10 weeks ago. Put I have had to hold back cuz my housework got soooo behind, plus time w my kiddo..... too bad she doesn’t watch this...... could count as quality time lol 😂
3 weeks in on episode 184 .had to have a couple of days off because I started dreaming about it . First time around for me except when I caught the odd episode when I stayed up late as a kid😂 Margo's my favourite
Wow Nacho, I watched this show in the early 80s. I started watching in Los Angeles. When I moved back to Las Vegas it seemed it was only on a couple more weeks ,then it disappeared! My point being ,I'm now watching the rest of the episodes for the first time, so much fun ! Many thanks to the person who made this blast from the past possible.......
It was probably taken off in the USA because people couldn't understand the accents.
Chris have you seen the whole series on YT now? I absolutely adore it. Caught it in the UK back in 1988.
14:34 You see... This is where Erica's judgement calls come in useful in situations. She's basically wrong in every decision she ever makes. So people begin to realise that if they simply do the exact opposite of what Erica thinks is the right course of action, that things will probably work out ok.
blimey pippa from home and away the new screw lol.
I was proud of Georgie not taking the bait from Doreen
When I watched this in the 70s, I loved Doreen, now I can't stand the sight of her and I get tempted to forward past any scenes in which she has dialogue.
@@farrellmcnulty909
I really warmed to her when she stood up to Vera and put her in her place in an earlier episode, I thought it would be a character arc where she grows up and become a WOMAN, but she goes back to being a childish brat!
That new screw was one of the nurses at the hospital in the children's ward when Doreen was working there.
Police: come out with your hands up
Crim: can't you come up with a better line than that?
Me to writers: what he said
31'38"
Vera: "And what do you think YOU'RE doing??"
Unknown prisoner: "A pretty convincing Les Dawson impersonation."
Unknown prisoner of indeterminate gender. Looks like it might be one of those Russian tractor-driving "women"
The beak on that copper.
Wayne has run out of gum, time to make a Dentyne break.
This and the previous episode are hilariously funny!!
Is that new officer Pippa from Home and Away??
Yes it is
This show cracks me up. Notice the mid finger at 15.44... which continues quite obviously... lol.
Fantastic as always. Been watching from the beginning again. I haven't done this since about 8 years ago. Enjoying it again.
I'm only on my 2nd way thru but I cud see me completing it several more times so much happens its really easy to forget loads its like watching it for the first time it's drawing me in just like the first time around 😁😁
The office girl at Wentworth is looking rather nice today.
Doesn't that teacher ever change his pants!!
Yeah it's painful to watch
There so tight
They're so tight they're stuck to him.
That’s his business 🤢
Lol Georgie....Get thhhhhhstuffed.
Who is margo guarding when everyone is in the shop gathered around the phone she is pointing her gun into the back room that's empty 🔫🤣🤣🤣🤣
Margo looks a badass in that denim jacket :D
Love it they all have lunch at the same time
new scew looks like princess laya
36:15 Love that red 1981 cell phone the police guy is holding--big as a fire hydrant. If they'd kept manufacturing cell phones at that size into the 1990s and beyond, they never would have caught on. Who'd want to be seen walking down the street holding a fire hydrant up to their head? How embarrassing!
Cell phone? In 1981? It's a two way radio.
More like a phone booth
Yeah we want a 100k a getaway car and some dye remover as I'd hate to have to chuck out this lucky shirt
Sally Dean could have layed Princess Leia! Looking the way she does as the first enters the prison. 16/3/20.
. . .and most importantly, don't forget the dye remover!
"YAKKITY YAK!"...don't talk back.
From the shop owner while being held hostage "yeah I know how you can get their attention yeah you call this radio station and tell them you have hostages and give your demands... OH and don't forget to mention my store's name now." seriously?!?! Maybe wait until you survive the hostage situation till you get your ad space / plug-in?
I thought the same thing haha😂😂😂😂. I don't think she was that scared or frightened. 🙈If that's all she could think off.😂😂😂😂old people- don't ya just love em.... Lmao😂😂😂😂😂
I notice that Pippa out of Home and Away says "oh" in Prisoner as much as she does in Home and Away, i.e. a lot
I think the actor playing Marsh, the trigger happy cop is the same actor who plays Ted Douglas's replacement later in the series.
Yes, Arthur Richards.
This episode is like sit com in the shop margo and thrm women 😂
It’s like Acorn Antiques 😂
YEH!! Open all hours LOL. Can you imagine if Albert Arkwright And
G,G,GG Granville Were in that shop in PCBH, OMG It would've been
so funny.Oh no G,G,G,GGG Granville, What's wrong Mr Arkwright,
W
That old woman pretending to cry by the telephone also plays Joan Ferguson's neighbour, "Mrs Hibbert," who gets a line after the Carol Coulson storyline. She also plays a Scottish Human Resources lady at the place where Kev Burns worked.
There's a touch of "The Ladykillers" about the scenes in Holly's Haberdashery. Especially when she put the kettle on.
15:45 the cops flips off the reporter! LMAO
Wasn't "Holly" also Lynne's mum? Holly seems more fun. 😊
" hey copper! The screw's comin out wif the old duck! Brilliant line
In a Pommy accent too lol.
Just got a flash back from being a kid. I swear I heard Vera saying. Margo Gaffney. I’ve always
Remembered that name 😂😂
20:47 Only in Australia could somebody come out with a line like this!!
Andrews always sounds like he’s just sniffed a line.
The hostage scene is funnier than the hostage scene from Mary Hartman Mary Hartman
Alice Owens If Mary Hartman Mary Hartman is on yt goodbye world!
Meg has more courage than I would give her credit for some of the time but I bet Bob was unhappy with her going in to the shop. Marsh does not have enough sense or composure to manage that kind of delicate situation. If he had his way then the hostages wouldn't have had a chance of getting out alive! Luckily Thorne had more patience and knew how to deal with a situation like that in a safe and sensible fashion. But then, he valued peoples lives, unlike Marsh!! Doreen really has got more and more tiresome lately. Everyone else has let bygones be bygones, but she must keep baiting Georgina, who actually deserves credit now for trying to make a go of her life.
8ballpoolking1 But when someone baits you- you don't have to suddenly jump up and fly for them! That's hardly making a go of your life!
Agreed, but you very often find throughout the show that ones reaction to somebody/something is based in accordance to their level of intelligence and/or emotional state of mind. Georgina is not very high on the intellectual scale and she lacks stability too, so a much different outcome seems unlikely.
8ballpoolking1 I disagree. She's not Bea's or any other prisoner's responsibility. She's a liability.
Why isn't Meg's darling Bob involved in the hostage situation.
Lol,this"hostage situation"
Its like watching a C-movie,but i love it :o)
Cannot wait to see the back of Georgie, her voice gets right on my nerves
She's Deaf.. That's why her voice is like this, I suppose your perfect , criticising a person on the way she's speaks .?
@@Mikey-mu1gj 😂🤣😂🤣shut up
😂😂😂😂😂😂. The extra prisoner who didn't speak a word. When I was little and learning to read our schools had five or six books about a family. There was Father, Mother and three children, Dick, Jane, and toddler Sally. Dick had a friend named Pete and there was Spot the dog and Puff the cat.
I remember the dick and Jane books..... kindergarten, 1966/67
@15:44 lolz at cop#2 waving the middle finger at the reporter while pretending to scratch an itch
LOL I saw it too.
Cop flips the bird at reporter 15:50 Priceless.
Hilarious. An ex colleague and I used to do this to each other across the office, and then dissolve in giggles.
Can't get enough of cell block brilliant
So many actors on this show ended up in Home and Away and Neighbours! Australia must have about 30 actors in total lol, just waiting on Bea's dead husband to pop up again
Never mind how many of them had already been in Number 96, The Young Doctors, The Sullivans, Cop Shop, Skyways etc. by now
Beas old man popped up in the pub when Lizzie was out of Wentworth
Doreen acts like she is a Rhodes scholar. .
Police Woman is on RUclips. It was an advertisement. Angie Dickinson has a similar Davo hairstyle.😅
Anybody else notice the camera men when Meg was walking into the shop at 17.25mins it pans out and shows Meg with 2 cameramen walking towards the shop never noticed it before 😂😂🚶😂
They were the reporting crew that turned up at 10.15 👍
The book Here we go Georgie was reading, l remember that from the infants class.
Georgie should have told Vera, she can get a job as a prison officer.
Why does Wayne need dye remover, surely gettin a new rug with a bit more turf on it would look better.
It could be drugged... One bite, still awake? Ok... Tuck in.
@ 8:50 “Yakety yak!” LMAO
Great idea to get a prison officer who knows you to bring the food just so you definately get recognised
That new officer looks like one of the women from the later episodes when the barnhurst women come in after the fire, I've forgotten her name but she was obsessed with plants and acted like they could talk to her. They sound kind of similar.
yup! it's Daphne!
+KaraJayne Makin That was daffy Daphne. For some reason, I always want to just punch her square in that cantaloupe head of hers.
Yeah, Daphne Graham, but geeze, she looks half the size!
Pippa from Home and Away hahaha.
@@soapsnthings4182
Pippa from away.. 😮😢
I do admire Meg for her additional help but she’s got a holier than though lookout not thinking of her new husband putting herself in danger
This stupid act just might break up their marriage.
I don't think I'd think of Blob very often at all, under any circumstances.
Can't believe that the shopkeeper actually enjoys being a hostage. What a fruitcake. Maybe she has 'Stockholm Syndrome', when hostages side with their captures to save themselves.
+Chris.C Nah, I think she's excited over the fact that she might just drum-up more business if the story is carried on the TV news (mentioning her business, of course).
Alas, what some people do in the name of business....
spot the old Clark vinyl tiles box....still in business....
Love The Village People poster! Lol!
Mis Dean aka Daphne the prisoner later on.
When Wayne talked the police he said "No Names" as if that would matter because during the seige Margo called them both by their christian names. Also the police would have recovered the bolt cutter and that would have their fingerprints on it anyway, also the car outside that they used as a "Getaway" would be covered in dabs aswell. It was a" Keystone Cops"style robbery . A bit like the Great Train Robbery where at Leatherslade farm where they hid out for a few days that was covered in fingerprints aswell. All that planning and they got caught by fingerprints and spending unlaundered money so soon after the robbery. I mean how silly is that?
Your right about the receptionist , I'm surprised jumbo ain't tapping it , it's been a while since he had a bit
The camera does tend to linger on her somewhat. Has done so for the last few episodes.
When Meg was walking across the street going into the shop the music to Clint Eastwoods The good the bad and the ugly should be playing. Or was it a fistful of $$$
44:08 now is that officer drinking beer while a siege is going on?
I miss that era in t.v.
Fear not, Wayne fans. He'll be back, no doubt!
Doreen can be so annoying sometimes...It's because all the attention is on Georgie and not her....
36:14 That dude is pretty much holding an actual telephone box in his hands lol. How times have changed. Now a mobile phone can fit in your actual ear.
You get them tiny enough to go up the bum now. Perfect for smuggling into a prison.
WHAT'S THE DYE REMOVER FOR ? MARGO'S MAKE-UP ?????
denzil4 lmao hahahahhaahaha good one
ORIGINALREDY2MIX Glad it made you laugh, cheers
31:36 I found the scene with the extra smoking a cigarette quite amusing. She got a good old telling off, for smoking, being unaccompanied by an officer, loss of privileges for 48 hours, garbage duties for the rest of the week and then finally, of course, told to " . . . get back to work."
Like most of the silent extras, she did a fair old stint in the series but was never once given a single line. Must have been so frustrating for so many of them. All those years without a single line.
Poor actress, she had to stand there and take the whole verbal bashing without saying a word. Surprised Vinegar didn't put her on a charge for dumb insolence.
That extra is coral drouyn mum peggy haig coral was one of the shows writers
sally dean pippa from home and away
Surely Vera of all people would of searched bea on her return from the hospital
