To call Metal Gear Solid 5 a flop is entirely wrong. Also, to say the development was rushed is also wrong. The reason for Kojima leaving is because Konami wanted the game finished after 4 years in development and Kojima wanted to continue working on it for another year or so.
It's an incomplete game, but at its core the gameplay is masterfully done. Nothing "Flop" about that.

MGSV is not Solid Snake’s story, it’s Big Boss’/Venom Snake’s
Solid Snake’s story already ended with MGS4
If any title killed Metal Gear, it’s Metal Gear Survive
"without the series' creator and mastermind, Solid Snake has been left in retirement ever since" like dude, he had nothing left to do after MGS4 (you know why), whoever wrote that part of the video should've at least checked more about the game
First off, it wasn't the game that killed the franchise. It was Konami. Secondly, it would have been Metal Gear Survive that did that.

The franchise died as soon as Kojima left Konami. Metal Gear Survive was just Konami desecrating its corpse.

It would've been absolutely mind blowing if SPOILERS Big Boss was voiced by David Hayter at the end while Venom Snake was voiced by Kiefer. I don't think it would have fixed the incomplete story we got, but it would've felt right. Especially since in the JP version, it was the original Snake voice actor throughout.

Solid and Big Boss having the same voice never made sense and Big Boss should've had a different voice since 3.
Sutherland did great as Big Boss and I wish he could've voiced him in more titles.

@@Z-Mikes00 So is Liquid and Solidus. Hell, Solidus is the most accurate clone and yet he sounds nothing like Big Boss.
They might technically be clones but they're not 1:1 copies of Big Boss.
I'd also like to note that Big Boss at the end of 4 yet again sounds nothing like Hayters version, probably because they realized how stupid it would sound.
@@Mcgeezaks Keifer was terrible as Big Boss. His inclusion was nothing more than a hollywood obsessed Kojima indulging his own ego, and him getting to shit on western audiences; as others have said, the Japanese voice actor has remained the same.

I liked getting character endings in the MvC games, but after spending what felt like 45 minutes fighting Ultron Sigma, I got nothing. If there ever is another MvC game, hopefully it is better than Infinite. What also sucked about that game was the lack of X-Men and F4 characters like Dr. Doom because of the whole Disney/Fox situation.
Edit: I'm not surprised Duke Nukem Forever took the first place spot again. That game had a lot of potential.
As someone who has played Duke Nukem, since the very very first one with dial-up Internet, and all of that? I’ll never forget the one area where the strippers were, and you could literally press the spacebar, he says “shake it, baby“ (then he hands her money) and she takes off her top to reveal her nipple covers… Yeah.
After that, a bunch of psychotic pig, looking dudes with insane weapons, come flying out and try to kill you… I am 38 now, so I was pretty young when that happened.
The pigcops only show up if you kill the strippers/chicks iirc

@5:10 MGS V The Phantom Pain was easily one of the best games of the past decade hands down zero contest. Innovative and clever stealth and Ai mechanics alongside a unique progression system and story. Seriously the game is so crazy if you fail to take a shower at mother base after a few missions enemy’s will be more likely to detect you by your smell. You can even hide a body in a porta-potty and play a cassette of rabid craps to deter enemy detection. Metal Gear Survive killed it not that game, unfair that it’s on this list.

Umm Dragon's Dogma 2 got announced a few months ago.
Failed to mention that Disney had a hand in ending the MvC series.
This vid also shows that game certain game franchises are in a dilemma:
Put a fresh coat of paint on a classic title, people demand that they want something new.
Create something new, people demand that they want to play classic titles again.
It’s a no win scenario.
A lot of variables to consider. A lot of mediocre people playing games now. Where there is stupid/opportunistic there is destruction of a foundation. Developing games to get the same effect as before is difficult when the priority is cater to everyone for assumed profit.
Man alot of these games i grew up with, I still remeber Dino crisis and the marvel vs Capcom series on the DreamCast. It really sucks that this is basically how these series end. Especially Marvel vs Capcom... T_T
Whatever happened to the Budokai Tenkaichi series it ended with 3 it would’ve been cool to see a 4

The Tony Hawk pro skater game series has since been sorta revived as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (remaster of the first 2 games) came out 5 years after pro skater 5
Problem with games like that. There isn't much new that you can really add to new game's. Outside of new maps. It's the same game. It's what put me off the game. Was fun when I played it as a teen buy boring when in my 30s. Felt like the same game. Different console

What’s the opposite? Games that are send offs or final instalments that do their absolute best to impress their fans or have a satisfying conclusion or tie all loose ends and succeed at that? In movies, Avengers Endgame is a prime example of that. What about for video games? For example, Phantasy Star IV is such an example, despite having spin-offs come after that, the mainline entries are finished. What do you think is a great end/perfect finale or amazing final instalment for a video game? I want to know.
I guess they forgot to mention that there is a new perfect dark in development for the Xbox Series S/X and that tony hawk 5 wasn't really the last game since we got a remastered or almost a remake of 1 & 2
I would love for them to remake the first Crackdown. I love that game. Completed it over 10 times but my console broken now so been unable to replay it again for another outing.
Also typical of EA to ruin Dead Space. Don't know why anyone would work with them these days as they destroy everything they touch
'Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes' should've ended 22 years ago in order to keep the franchise fresh.

Silent Hill...I would honestly say it was more Homecoming or Downpour that made people loose faith in the series. If we are honest, Silent Hill 4 had its problems as well. It really only had three solid titles to its name. Which is fine. All good stories have a beginning, middle, and an End.
Tony hawks pro skater 2 was so good. I destroyed my space bar doing so many ollies.
How about Paper Mario: Sticker Star? That game single-handedly killed one of the best RPG series ever.

Series going into limbo for years after a bad game is still by default "ending a franchise". 1+2 are just remakes and the 3+4 remakes were canceled so the franchise is still dead and Perfect Dark by the Initiative is gonna be a completely different game from the originals

@@Solbankai66 yeah i was reading about it years ago. Disney was really strict on who could be in, how they were portrayed and hence the lack of prominent X-men and fantastic 4 characters that fox had rights to at the time. They found it difficult to work with them.

What about sly cooper thieves in time? The thing flopped so hard when it was released I. 2013, that Sanzaru, the company that made the game, made an announcement that there will be no more sly cooper games. It’s like Thieves in Time was one of those unnecessary sequels to a beloved franchise.

I think Dead Space 3 was supposed to be the end of the Dead Space Trilogy, so technically it didn't really kill the franchise but rather just simply served as it's conclusion. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Final Fight: Streetwise, Splatterhouse 2010, NARC, Battletoads, and Saint's Row sure screwed their franchises.
Give it time. I'm sure we'll have a great follow up to Duke Nukem Forever. It's truly only a matter of time

I have to admit marvel vs capcom infinite wasn't as bad but the design needed a lot of work other than that the game was pretty A OK I really liked how they had the characters that weren't in the original marvel vs capcom games.

Crackdown three broke my heart. I can literally play the first and second game for hours still to this day it’s just a fun experience. The third one was not enjoyable imo

I'm obviously a huge MGS fan (check my name), so the Phantom Pain really hit me the wrong way. There's tons of fun mechanics in that game that can really change a playthrough, but the ending is terrible. I'm praying for a resurrection, but as of right now it's not looking great.

Medal solid survival is what killed the series! Absolutely ridiculous to do zombie survival. That’s what killed it. 5 may have been bad but did not kill it.

No Silent Hill: Book Of Memories did not leave the series in limbo until recently. As much Konami wishes everyone would forget it existed we got P.T. two years after Book Of Memories and if Konami wouldn't have fired Kojima then we would have gotten Silent Hills.
