This new ending adds 5% by dropping the bat on the sloped edge of the stage for a 14% bat hit. It's very tight on time, most of my close runs timed out by a frame or so. Requires feet mode instead of meters mode for a shorter distance to backwall. I think this is just about as far as you can get without edgecancels (good luck to who ever tries that lol).

Incredible! I remember going for the world record in 2003 when the best strategy was 8 BDs followed by an aerial FP. I thought there would be time to do an up air before the 8 BDs but never made it far enough to even start the FP after weeks of practice. Seeing 9 BDs with time to fit in more stuff after is totally insane to me.

Why does the bat do more damage bouncing off a slope?
Basically, the bat does more damage when it has more speed. The bounce off the slope helps the bat retain more of its speed compared to the straight up and down bounce

Yep, that’s the main reason we switch between languages on NTSC. Unfortunately, PAL players are stuck with just the meters mode platform :(
Yes if you look closely and compare videos you see that the platform in meters is slightly larger. Also differetn distance to the invisble wall to the left side of the platform.
If everyone in the world practiced this every day for 15 years... how many would come close to your ability? Less than 10?
