What is Latent squint or HETEROPHORIA.
LATENT means lying dormant or hidden until circumstances are suitable for development
Squint absent when he is forced to look in a specific object
OR
Squint present when NOT looking specifically at an object.
Patient can present COMPENSATED OR DECOMPENSATED

When I was young I was told I have heterophoria (I think, I might remeber it wrong) but the test was different than cover test. I am not sure if I have heterophoria or sth else... They put me in a black room, gave me glasses one glass was green or blue and the other one was red. The doctor and told me to tell how many triangles or circles do I see. There were always two but I saw 3 all the time. I just saw one more in the middle a little bit higher than the two that were there. Does anyone knows is it a heterophoria or something else and what can it be? I was seeing many optitians and noone did that test to me again :( I don't remember where was that optitian who did the test as I was like 12. :((
