Worth EVERY SINGLE SECOND staying up for. This is what team Japan can bring to the table when everyone is at their 100%. Keep errors even lower and it's a matter of consistency for them to win a title in the future. Come back stronger!!
I think it's France who did not well exept the first set. But yes the japanese french coach did a great job in preparing japan to stop the actual France game. It was like japan 110% vs France 60%.

@@DMarinari i saw both match and i think they played better this time because they serve better and attack smarter vs french blocks. When your team is at its peak physically and mentally and this team has been trained to beat another in particular, it's not 90% - 100% but 110%
As a French volleyball player I was soo hyped for this match. France is incredible but Japan has two the most powerful attackers and a determination to save the ball that is specific to the Japanese mentality. This one was a difficult one for both team. Btw I loved how respectful the Japanese team saluted the french players with a smile and a hug, true sportsmanship !
@@jaimesantos1170 I doubt players underestimate each other at national levels. But Japan was very solid this game. Some games you do better than others. And in this specific one, Japan took two sets. It probably won’t happen again anytime soon, but I wouldn’t boil it down to “underestimated then” at that level

@@theheights2833 I do believe they underestimated and didn't prepare as much as they did when they were in the VNL against Italy and USA. Nishida spiked the same way over and over again. ANd France wasn't able to adjust meaning they didn't do much scouting report.

When Ishikawa missed the 14-15 serve in the decisive set, I felt deep in my heart I'd have to wait another event to finally watch Japan 🇯🇵 get a well-deserved win against France 🇨🇵. Thank you for the best game I've seen yet. ONE lucky defense and it was over but we attended a thrilling battle.
Since I have watched Volleyball never felt heart attack like this that like a final round. Finally France is always France who is so strong and keep fighting. Today I saw a beautiful relationship between France and Japan. I love that 🇫🇷&🇯🇵💪
Ishikawa was on fire this game. He really stepped up and showed why he is the captain. He is my favorite player and watching get point after point is what inspires me to improve

True, I've never seen the both of them struggled together. Yet, I saw each one struggled, especially Ngapeth. Saw his highlights in a game when he only scored 10 and Leon I think more than doubled or at least 3pled his score.
Quite impressed by the level Japan reached on this game. Outsanding performance in service and reception, they dominated France. The libero played great, Sekita made good choice, Ishikawa was good as usual, Takahashi is clearly intersting, and oh my ! Nishida played at his best, unstoppable. Super nice to see this team make such a game, i love their style. How can we made it through, with Tillie's injury, Clevenot playing bad, Patry either, no blocks and N'Gapeth struggling in reception ? We got to give credit to Gianni, who used wisely the bench to make it !! I hope we'll play better against Italy... (even if this Japan team could have beaten almost any team, let's be honesst...)
Had a privilege of watching this one live and let me tell you it was an INCREDIBLE one. Japan's dynamic plays are just so satisfying to watch, especially in so close match.
@@manK2022 Usually, one ticket is bought for 2 matches and a ticket for only one match cannot be bough. On that particular day you could only buy a ticket for both matches (UKR-NED and FRA-JP). The super close edge seats cost 100 and 75, the middle segment of which bottom half is seen by the camera was 50, and the top floor was 20 (all units in euros). Honestly, even the tickets for 20 are pretty nice, it's not even far away and it gives you great field vision. If you take the 50 one, however, you may get to take a selfie with a coach or one of the players.
By far the greatest game of the tournament. Ishikawa and Nishida were beasts for Japan, and the collective excellence of the whole France Team and their incredible depth with all of their stars allowed them to advance. Last 3 sets every point was a hard fought battle. Japan were the Olympics champions back in the 1972 summer games, and slowly but surely are getting closer to that level and the elite teams in the Volleyball world ranking. Still the top 4 are Poland, France, U.S.A. and Brazil.
You’ll really see how Japan prepared well to go against France. This is the most nerve wrecking volleyball game eveeer! I’m so proud of Japan. I’ll wait for u guys on the next tournament. Sending love from Philippines

Oh wow looks like a crazy match, both teams went crazy with the serve from what i see in the highlights. Even Takahashi seemed more aggressive, nice one At the end i think Sekita may have been a bit too insistent, giving all those match point spikes to Nishida, France figured it out and managed to slow down his last spike. This team is insane with the mental fortitude in decisive moments Keep you head high, Japan, your moment will come for sure

Japan played a brilliant game and France was overwhelmed and struggling to handle their attacks and serves almost all game long. These tight games are often decided by mental strength and poise when facing elimination. #14 missed his serve with a match ball in his hands, that will hopefully help him grow to handle this kind of pressure better. I would not be surprised if the quarter final was a much quicker affair.
The difference between the 2 teams are the Middle Blockers & Ishikawa is behind 4 years of experience to Ngapeth, he has the potential to be at the same caliber as Ngapeth, so excited for what will happen for team japan in the coming years. Congratulations to France!

I myself doubted Japan that it's going to be a straight sets again from France just like from their past matches in the vnl, but no, I was wrong. Japan played a brilliant game and France was overwhelmed and struggling to handle their attacks and serves almost all game long.
These tight games are often decided by mental strength and poise when facing elimination.
#14 missed his serve with a match ball in his hands, that will hopefully help him grow to handle this kind of pressure better.
I would not be surprised if the quarter final was a much quicker affair.
