Thanks again, everyone! I'm still excited as ever about making great videos for you to watch, and there's a ton of great stuff to come in the next few months. I'm just getting started 😁 -Tristan
well, I am so glad to hear that! I am all down for more of you and your GREAT content! and I remember when you were at 34k subscribers. You’re the BEST, Tristan....you should be at 500K!
I've been watching your videos for the last year or so, and I can honestly say I haven't watched a single one that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I can't say that about any other youtube channel I watch.
Have you noticed the calm and humor filled voice to go with the extraordinary videos? Makes me want to come west! Thanks for never yelling at us…love your thoughtful experiences.
Thanks to a jaw-dropping view in one of Tristan's videos, I just returned from a multi-state vacation that included a day hike on the Highline Trail along the Green River Lakes in the Wind River Mountains. I'd never heard of the area before watching Tristan's adventures there, and I said to myself "I want to see that." Its remote splendor, with Squaretop Mountain in the distance, was a breathtaking highlight of my trip. Many thanks, Tristan.
I think I subscribed to your channel around the 24,000 mark. I have not missed one video that I know of. Been rooting for your channel to reach this mark You really earned it. Congratulations!
Congratulations, Tristan! I’ve been watching since before your hip issues, maybe someday I’ll bump into you out in the wilderness. I’ll be the grandma in the white CRV. Woo hoo! 100,000!!
I am so happy for your continued success. You deserve it! I love your videos. It’s a no hype zone, no jarring, obnoxious music, huge on information and inspiration. You really helped me to form a desire to do some traveling especially your videos on the Redwoods. My goal is Fern Canyon. I’m older, alone with a few health issues, but you’ve helped me to get my brave on! Thank you from the bottom of my heart 🥰
I’m 65, and have lived most of my life in Colorado. I love your zest for life. You remind me of me when I was your age exploring the back of beyond in the SW. Thanks for sharing places that aren’t overrun with tourists.
Congratulations on reaching 100k!!! 🎉🏔🌲 The other day I was watching an adventure video by a different vlogger. That video was a disaster. Angel’s Landing with lines of people. It made me realize why I love your thoughtful videos. I too have no desire to fight crowds in my adventures. I like your here, now, unpretentious mode of travel. Thank you!
Over the past 45 years, we have traveled and camped in 49 states (covid kept us from driving to Alaska from our home in Texas) and the 10 contiguous Canadian provinces. We are often asked what is our favorite state and we always answer "Utah" - we were just there in October. While at a general store in Torrey, UT I was bemoaning the fact that the national parks are getting so crowded to a local gentleman and he said "we have to share these places with others." I try to remind myself of this while encountering huge lines of cars to get into Arches, Canyonlands, Zion. I feel so very fortunate that our first visits to these marvelous places were so long ago when you didn't need reservations or shuttle buses to get around. Now we are introducing our grandchildren to the national park experience.
You should be proud of your abilities not just outdoors but the ability to put your adventures on video and present in a natural relaxed mode which makes it enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks,
The key is to not kill yourself taking silly risks. I envy your lifestyle sometimes! You have done a fantastic job of presenting these places and being transparent about how you did it. Keep it up!
The crowds of Yosemite is what makes Kings Canyon such a special place to visit. I highly recommend taking the scenic byway down to Kings Canyon in the late spring when the Kings River is rushing, it’s quite the place!
Tristan, Congrats on 100,000 subs. It has been a long walk you made to achieve that plateau. This is perhaps my favorite video you have made, because of the intimacy. It was like sitting with a brother over cups of coffee on a Wednesday afternoon. Thanks.
Congrats Tristan! Always enjoy your videos, the hikes are always amazing! The historical values you touch on and the native American petroglyphs and picture art, the mountains you scale, slot canyons, gorges, and free camping. You always make us feel like we are right there with you. Bravo 👏
your content is what a viewer would want to see: great places, great hikes and how to adapt to camping in a regular size utility vehicle. Congratulations. At the moment, I find your videos the most fulfilling in this genre
Thanks Tristan for all these wonderful videos that allows me to see through the lens of your eyes! Well done! I can’t wait to watch your videos in 2021, Thank you too Cassie, for sharing your husbands time and talents with us! Blessings to you both and safe travels...
Hey, I’ve been here for about a month. Great channel! Also happy to know that you chose Pocatello to live, I live here too for the past 30 years. Love it.
Congrats on 100K! Well deserved. Thumbs up for Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada on your list. Amazingly beautiful places for sure. Looking forward to returning to Yosemite this fall.
So glad u used my suggestion. Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a class b now, and I will differently add these to my list of places I want to visit. Love ur channel and thanks cassie. I know it's hard to have him gone so much. Fyi - have u tried peppermint oil. Keeps u cooler and bugs don't like it.
First off, congratulations on 100K. Well deserved accomplishment. If you love the redwoods, you should read the book “The Wild Trees” by Richard Preston. It tells the story of the wonderful and daring adventures of the people that set out to find the biggest redwood trees, climb them, measure them, and what they found growing amongst the canopy. Just a fascinating read.
People like to watch your videos because they like to live vicariously through your adventures! Some of us will just not get to do what you do, but sure would like to. I also watch a Canadian off-grid guy "My Self Reliance" Well done excellent videography. Kudos!
Tristan, if you've never hit the Buffalo River in Arkansas, you need to make it happen. The lower Buffalo can be crowded but the upper Buffalo tends to be emptier. But both are beautiful.
23:10 "it looks like the mountains of Afghanistan". Yup, me too love them. That's where I was born and raised. I was on a few cross country roadtrips in the US with my FJ Cruiser. And I saw too many places in the US that reminded me of home. Lovely, thanks for all your videos. BTW I went to some of the places you visited, after I saw your videos. Cheers and congrats for 150k subscribers!
I've not been to most of the places you discuss in this video, but I have been to Yosemite, once, in the late 1990s. I think I have to agree that there is something about it that transcends natural beauty. I know it's cliche, but I really did feel like I was in Mother Nature's cathedral. I hate to say that because it just drives more and more crowds there, but, hey the cat is out of the bag. For someone who has spent 99.9% of their life east of the Mississippi, setting foot in that valley was a true religious experience for me. It's beauty is simply not to be believed.
Congratulations, you earned it. We love the videos. Your wife is a real champ for going along and letting you do what you do best. You are a great inspiration. By the way I'm glad you like St. George . We live in St. George, Moved here from Michigan. Retired, but love traveling. I was born in Budapest,Hungary. Got bit by the traveling bug. I enjoy hiking, fortunately my husband feels the same., and we can't do as much as before, when younger, but you make it so easy. We will continue with your travels. God's speed.!!
Yes, love it!! You’re one of the few class acts in the world and especially the media, today. Great job. Some places to hit for sure! Keep dreaming big. Dad says thumbs up!
Congratulations on your achievements with RUclips subscribers and I find it hard to believe a TV Chanel hasn’t picked you up! The video is beautiful, awesome job.
I can’t agree more on your #1 on your list. There is some serious big country in the Lemhi and Lost River ranges. You’ll most likely never see anyone backpacking in a lot of those areas. I really appreciate your videos!! They are amazing.
👍👍 on your #1. I drove from BC to the Little Lost River Valley for the eclipse in 2017. Incredibly spectacular scenery. I have been dreaming of going back to spend some time exploring. Congratulations on 100k subscribers! You deserve it! You seem like a really genuine and humble person and you do a great job sharing your adventures. I am glad you've been able to have success with your channel so we all get to keep seeing amazing places. Thanks for everything!

We went to St. George the last week of November and had Zion to ourselves. The shuttles were empty. We were the 4th car in line going into the park. It was fantastic.
I'm with you on Butte, Montana. Not everyone "gets" Butte, but I love the place. I have twenty acres east of Butte. Up in the Pipestone Pass area. I use it as a base camp for my explorations of Montana. I hope you and your lovely wife will be "neighbors" soon.
Give yourself a little credit. You’ve got 100k subscribers because you create good content and seem pretty genuine/likeable.
