I wish I could meet this guy he is simply incredible 🙏🏽👍🏽
Larry is a so down to earth--so likeable AND funny! A truly
talented man!
Great interviewer. Thank you Matt for letting the people talk without inserting yourself into into the interview.
Amazing interview and insights from a world-class musician, composer and human being! Larry doesn't get enough credit as one of the best keyboardists on the planet! What a comedian!
A great keyboardist from the Elements, Larry Dunn
I met Larry Dunn in 1976 at a Hotel in NYC where I worked as a room service waiter. I delivered his meal and left, and I decided to check the signature to see who he was, when it read "Dunn", I freaked out, I went back, knocked on the door and asked "Are you LARRY DUNN, from Earth Wind and Fire" he said "Yes" my I hit the ceiling, I was 20 years old. Couldn't believe I had met one of my favorite all time keyboard idols. Would you believe, he gave me two tickets for EWF event in Madison Square Garden. I will forever remember both him and how kind and awesome he was to me. God bless him
So great interview. Larry Dunn is a true hero of music.
Larry Dunn comes from an age when music was still good. Enjoyed this interview... thanks a lot.
It was a lot of fun! Thanks Larry - and thanks for encouraging my student!!
Thanks to SWEETWATER too.
Larry, you guys were doing God's work, as I'm sure you certainly must realize by now. The music of Earth, Wind, and Fire kept me positive, until I could find myself. That positive message that you're music always had gave me such inspiration. Thank you.
I smiled the WHOLE TIME I watched this.
Great interview, Dunn is a delight, so authentic.
If Larry wasn't a prolific composer, arranger, and musician, he would've been a killer comedian!
A true legend bar none. Awesome interview. Some much rich musical history. I'm truly amazed! Thank you Larry and Sweetwater for the interview.
We were very honored to have him in, Janet McPhatter. Larry is an incredible talent! Glad you enjoyed the interview.
My man Larry, I play bass and drums now, but I played baritone horn bass AND treble clef and yes, they used to allow you to take the Instruments home back in the day. Yep, loaner instruments. And you’re preaching Larry about the young generation. I remember Larry telling me exactly what he just said. He told me “ I’m not a singer OR writer per sae, I’m more of an arranger”, true story. And finally, GOD and the Universe brought all of you and EWF together, thank GOD!
Had a chance to speak with Larry, and he is a very down to earth brother!!!
Loved Larry since I was a kid and my Dad would play EWF. Wasn't till I was older and heard his stuff with Ramsey, a Caldera, Ronnie, etc. Great interview, love hearing the background stuff. Thanks for posting.

great interview! Larry has been one of idols since I was 5! incredible musician composer. he influenced a lot of people. genius at programming synthesizers and doesn't get any credit!
I could listen these truly simple story about real musicians for days, thank's for the interview
Amazing musician and he knows what he’s talking about
"I had enough people on that record to make a Tarzan movie". That was FUNNY. I love Larry even more than before!!
Love this brother right here. Been a fan since the early 70's. Seems to be such a down to earth for real brother. Saw him at the homegoing service for Maurice. Would love to meet him one day. Right on Larry. God bless you
This was a great interview! It's nice to know that there are still musicians who actually care about their craft.
Cheers!
Normally I will listen to an interview for two or three minutes and get bored but listening to Mr. Dunn just kept me interested as he spoke of his past experience as a musician. Great interview!
What a cool guy. And a great interview too!
I remember that fro Larry had...I love to hear these stories I remember Quincy telling these same stories of being young traveling with Count Basie at like 15-16. I thank God "a whole lot bunch" as my niece used to say for musicians. Where would we be without music it is the best form of relaxation and celebration in my opinion...With all that said RIP to Maurice White a real musical genius...
+mookeychase0907 Amen to that, he had a beautiful baritone voice and presence, he will be missed, Larry is also fabulous on the keyboard. I don't know if you know of Greg Phillinganes, but he is the real deal just fantastic.
The Maestro! Yes sir!
Not only did Larry Dunn put on a great demo. He interacted with the audience in a way that is refreshing in this age of Me. Thanks Larry Dunn and Thanks Sweetwater. Peace.
Just because you caught up,don't mean you brag. Silence is golden.
MUSICAN! TRULY! classical, Jazz. etc....great musical back ground .
Even tho I'm a bass player, I was always drawn to synthesizers. Larry Dunn was the 1st keyboardist I listen to that make synthesizers so melodic and beautiful. Glad he's back with EWF. He and Jeff Lorber are my favorite synth players of all time.
Larry's back in the group??!!?? Cool!
What an insightful interview with the legendary Larry Dunn. Great job!
Jacqueline Luqman Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic interview. Had me spellbound.
In earth wind and fire, no one person carried the group, everyone was an asset.
I use to tell people when I was little that Larry Dunn was my dad...lol I was a big fan then and still is to this day
Larry Dunn Grew up on Hudson St., Denver, CO
Luved the interview. Luv the fact that u let Larry tell his story. Many interviewers continuously interrupt with meaning questions. Great job!
I really enjoyed this interview with Larry (Dunn)
Simply awesome.
My HERO for sure!!!

Larry's a legend.
I LOVE HIM AND HIS TALENT!!! I want to see him live.....does anyone know where he is playing in California Northern or Southern...I am in the middle Central Valley
At 5:52 Thank you Larry
Yeah, in fact check out their latest project 'now, then, & forever.' He's on there. Check out his solo on 'guiding lights.' He had that voyager singing. Check out some of the RUclips clips of him with EWF (2015) He's playing with Myron McKinney. Let's just say they got the 'boards' covered!😎
Very talented gentlemen.. So great to hear from him.
Great interview❤
Imagine all the youngsters that got lost when he said turn the turntable down from 33 1/3 to 16 RPMs. Man who remembers that switch on the side it went from 78 to 16? My pops still has his 78s...
mookeychase0907 ????
Yep, I remember those days too. Nowadays a turntable is seen as something you _scratch_ records on instead of _listening_ to records. I've always found that to be kind of symbolic in a bad way. Artists putting their heart and soul into a record, only to have someone scratch it and call _that_ music.
Such a cutie still❤
Larr looks different kooll dude
We can boogie down Down up on down The boogie sound Down up on
a 'wimpy' quote in a musician interview...classic.
Damn, Larry look a lot like Maurice White.
Not really. He looks more like Keith Jarrett.
*4-9-21*
Umm.... *That 1 mike, 4 singers* ?? Watch the Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars " *Leave The Door Open* " performance at recent Grammy Awards. *A+ review* ! Thanks for sharing! *Blessings*
I own the limited two Lps and other lps 45s stacks
Great interview. Interesting how Larry talks about astrology as per Maurice White. Gemini and Sagittarius are complete opposites but connect on another level. EWF was the bomb. When music was real without cellphones and distractions. Today's music don't cut it. All machines and no talent.
wow :)
I was in love with this man does he have instagram?
FOLEY!!!!!!!! WHERE IS FOLEY?????
Does he have kids? This group was private w their private lives
I`m sorry to "troll" but that just f...`s me up every time I hear stuff like my mom was Italian or German, Spainish

the people are blackish. I am copper colored and I had a nationality. I will get it back !!!
