Thank you for this demonstration. I’ve had the app for years, but I was intimidated by it. I’ll be getting fiber optic internet soon, and I need to start doing live demos on my RUclips channel, and I’ve been putting off doing paid classes for lack of the proper tools & internet connectivity. This step-by-step breakdown in “layman’s terms” for those of us who create content for artists & hobbyists was invaluable. Plus, the 30-day trial promo gives me time to really sort things out before I’m ready to use the product. I’ll be using it to set up my account immediately! 🥰❤️
Thank you for being a specific and hands-on presenter. Your tutorials are so clear and easy to understand for beginners. Looking forward to your future Switcher Tutorials. SUBSCRIBED!
Hi Rachel you are welcome for the card. Thank you so much for your creativity that you share each week. I really enjoy watching you and inspired to try new techniques. Thanks again for all you do and the prizes you share with us.
I'm not planning on doing any videos, but what you have shown in the last 3 videos is very interesting. You are very well prepared, but I know it took you many hours of trials and tribulations. However, you have done an excellent job.
Hello Rachel, greetings from Bogota, Colombia. Thank you for this video. I have a question: Do I have all the features you are using with the $25 plan or the $49 plan? Thanks 😉
Had to watch the replay and wow, so much info. My question is, what about phone orientation? I take video on landscape but shows up sideways. How did you keep you’re phone from doing that?
Thanks Desiree. Great question! Before you start a live you will want to hold your phone upright, then turn it. Once its in the correct orientation (portrait or landscape) THEN you hit your go live button. With Switcher Studio my phone automatically turns on in landscape mode, though.
I have been following all your Switcher videos and working on testing my setups. This has been so valuable. I’m stumped with using my external microphone. I have it plugged in to my iPad which is my Switcher. What I don’t know is if the sound is coming through my external microphone or the iPad microphone? Do I turnoff sound on all the other devices ( iPhone and laptop) or anything else? I tried to find this information online to no avail. I appreciate any explanation or direction to another source of information. Thanks in advance.
You'll see the difference when you record two clips - one with the mic plugged into your iPad and one without. It's really amazing to hear. So I try not to record without that mic anymore. To answer your question, the iPad (your switcher/control panel device) is the one that is picking up the sound. So when your mic is plugged into it, the mic amplifies sounds coming in. No need to worry about the volume on the device though. I bring my volume down on my laptop because even when I have notifications off, I HAVE had beeps come through for some odd reason. So I just make sure notifications are off on all my devices and the sound is off on my laptop.
@@stampyourartoutwithrachel Thanks so much, Rachel, for your thorough response AND these wonderful videos! You’ve made this all so clear and detailed. I’m so thankful I found them.
Hello Rachel, I’ve watched your current 3 videos! Yippie! In the first (actually all 3) you mentioned that you use your iPhone, iPad, and your laptop. Do you find it necessary to use all three or could a person just use their iPhone and iPad (which is all I have.)? Oops I forgot to say that I have heard of “switcher” however, I did not understand it so I never tried it! You explained it very well to where I feel confident enough to use it for my videos! Thank you so much for doing these videos! See you in video 4!
Rachel, can you only stream to one platform at a time, or could you be in both FB and YT simultaneously? If no, would you upload later as a replay and which way round do you prefer? Hope that question makes sense and thank you so much for these invaluable tutorials - you are clearly a very skilled and experienced teacher.
Thanks Lauren! you can stream to both with an outside app. This is the answer to that question from Switcher: "Switcher Studio does not have a built-in simulcasting feature for streaming to multiple platforms (for example, Facebook and RUclips) simultaneously. You can, however, connect Switcher with numerous third-party simulcasting tools, including Castr and Switchboard. Connecting one of these tools to Switcher lets you combine Switcher’s editing features with their simulcasting features." I've done it both ways...streamed to FB then uploaded to RUclips and streamed to RUclips and uploaded to FB. I guess it depends on where you want your initial audience to be.
@@spongenstampwithtina this is off the FAQ section of the Switcher Studio website... "Can I use Switcher on a computer? Switcher Studio is an iOS application, so it cannot be used on a computer. You can, however, bring your computer’s webcam (Mac) or screen (Mac or PC) into the videos that you stream or record with Switcher. This is done with a complementary app called Switcher Cast."
Great job on these videos. I have one clarifying question on equipment. To incorporate a Laptop as a 3rd device does it need to be a mac, or can any other laptop work?
Thanks! Switcher Studio has an answer to that in their FAQ section..."Switcher Studio is an iOS application, so it cannot be used on a computer. I've actually done my first video...not ready to share but at least I did it!! Eeks! Didn't use Switcher but I will at least do the test eventually. You're doing such a great job! PatriciaD I did have another couple of questions...must you use a Mac computer? I think I did hear you say you have to use iPhone. I have iPad, can I connect that to my Windows computer to do this? Again, thanks!
Yay!!!!!! I suggest turning off someone who might be an emergency contact during the live which will override Do Not Disturb. Ask me how I know....! 😂. Great videos Rachel!
Love this software but the subscription fees are way out of the price range of an enthusiastic amateur. Went for a hardware switcher instead, one off payment v lifetime subscriptions.
this is how I want to watch tutorials. more actual and direct explanations than just talking. great job!

Forgot to ask - can you see the comments inside Switcher Studio for a RUclips live too? Looking forward to Video #4!
With how I do it, no. But I'm doing a bit of research before I record my last video.
That was a great video! Thank you!

Hi 👋
Thank you for yours videos 👍. I have a question for you. How to put a BACKDROP or a BACKGROUND VIDEO on your live streaming ?
which ipad you are using
Rachael is that white sheet of paper on your blog that we can print out?
Not yet. When the last video is posted, it will be connected to a blog post. I'll add that resource there then.
Great information, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for helping people . I'm using a trail app and I try to using for my Church service , how can I get a special price for Church?
Great question. I'm not sure if there is a discount of non-profits and churches. I guess I'd reach out to Switcher Studio. www.switcherstudio.com/

You do not need the laptop. A person could definitely just use the iPhone and iPad .

You're welcome. Yes...the streaming devices need to be iOS compatible. The only exception is the laptop.

OH!...ooops! LOL Great tip
How long do we have to sign up for the trial after your last video?
This special will run through March 2022.
I don’t have a multi view
What is it and what's it for? Start with the basics. I mean, it's the basics, right? "You might use it to..." "Basically what it does is..."
