Fun fact. Eupho & Girls Band Cry have the same screenwriter. Jukki Hanada. The same screenwriter who also wrote “A Place Further Than The Universe”. AKA the single most genuinely perfect anime I’ve ever seen.
@@Totaraum yeah it’s such an incredible series. It’s not my #1 FAVOURITE anime, that would be Violet Evergarden, but in terms of having no significant flaws or barely even any minor flaws, Universe is genuinely the best anime I’ve ever seen. It achieves exactly what it wants to do with perfect precision.
@@erikk8546 man, I didn’t write it into the video because it hadn’t finished airing yet, but my buddy and I just sat in silence for a few minutes after it ended. It was so surreal to see it finally end and it messed us up for a good few hours
Thanks as usual for the video! Haven't watched Beck or Given, but now I know I need to. This Spring season, Hibike! cemented its position as my absolute favorite anime of all time, and Girls Band Cry proved that CG waifus are the inevitable future of this media. I pray that KyoAni do give us some more Eupho for the 10th anniversary though. They did absolutely everything possible to give this story proper closure within 13 episodes, but we still have many unanswered questions, and would never miss a chance to spend just a little more time with these characters.
@@KH-qk3kv honestly I thought they might have a movie or two left in them, but if they want to move on from hibike altogether I’d understand. It is 9 years old and won’t bring in as much hype as a new ip
Love seeing people talk about Eupho, its genuinely my favorite series. So glad we finally got our final season. The ending was satisfying enough, but god DAMN that epilogue
The production quality of these videos is wonderful! The audio is immaculate. The script is heartfelt, but tends to spiral around a particular idea over and over again that it feels like padding. The impact of what you want to say can be done concisely. You could likely shave 10 mins off of this, reduce your own production time, and still have a tighter more poignant product at the end of things.
@@LetsChat thank you for the feedback! Being concise without feeling like I’m sacrificing impact is something I’ve been struggling with, you hit the nail on the head. I’ve been trying to improve that in the scripts I’m working on right now. I’m glad that you liked the video despite that!
Can't believe Hibike is over. I really liked the show for the first few seasons, but this last one just bumped it up into my top few. As a band kid myself, I approve. :)

@7:07 - "Because, you see, the music of a band anime will always align itself with the goals of the story and the characters because it's being created by said characters." ...isn't that just describing what every good media in general does? Doesn't every good media have a balance between mind, body, heart, and soul? That's not unique to band anime at all. Romance enhances characters through bringing them closer and helping them grow both separately and together, action provides a means to achieve a tangible goal that impacts both the characters and their world, horror uses visual imagery and atmosphere to create discomfort and terror that radiates beyond the setting and into the viewer, etc. A good show uses its elements to find the appropriate equilibrium between the four while catering to the needs of the material specifically. It also doesn't include all the times where the music is NOT the ultimate point of a band animanga. "NANA" may involve bands, but the interpersonal drama of its characters being caught within the allure and destructive impulses of the "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll" lifestyle and imagery is ultimately far more important than any singular or collective performance. I'd even go so far as to say that they're maybe the least-interesting parts of the story. "Kids on the Slope" may have my single-favorite in-universe musical performance for any anime ever, but the actual performances are not what I remember most fondly from it.
