4 Rothko Violin Improvisations

This is a creative experiment initially inspired by Randall Allsup at Teachers College. I have decided to try and incorporate more creative practice, rather than just violin practice! And so will be challenging myself with various different ideas/concepts/musical games just to see what it provokes. And I challenge you to join me and post your creative try-outs down below too so we can build a community of creative practice too. This was an improvisation on 4 paintings - I played each improv 2 or 3 times before recording. It's important to just have a still and open mind - not a judging one as it seems to me that judgment during the process of experimentation is a good killer of creativity.
So this is creative experiment 1 - how to portray some Rothko paintings in music!
