Melody playing from the courtyard calling me to meet you
Across the border I can see the one I love
Color me with the broadest brush, the glass won’t keep me down
I have to tell myself by rote to know to see is good enough
Melody, approaching from the follicles of destiny I swear
Your eyes still pull me out, they reach right through the air
Color me with the broadest brush, I see you all alone
Untouched by radiation, sculpted body made of rusted chrome
Sunlight
Midnight
Red clouds
Glass house
Frozen
Carapace
Spiral
Staircase
Harmony, the resonance emits from your abode
I feel a longing that my circuits simply weren’t built to hold
Color me with the brilliant sun above this barren land
So close and yet so far, from the touch of your own hand
Harmony, the sound of young machinery outside my garden
Oh what a contrast to the land I see you walk in
Color me with the artificial light that keeps me safe
But what is safety in the end if I still cannot touch your face
Sunlight
Midnight
Red clouds
Glass house
Frozen
Carapace
Spiral
Staircase
When I close my eyes I see us flying through the air
And in my heart of hearts I’m certain that the land will see us there
Color us together like the Renaissance has come again
There’s beauty in this vision and I’ll see it to the end
When I let my optometric systems fail again
I dream of witnessing your visage step upon new fertile plains
There’s a great significance to all the things we’ve seen
And then the only constant still remaining, you belong with me

This is the best human/machine romance love song I've ever heard.
In terms of human/machine love songs, Part Of Me by Hannah Diamond and Danny L Harle is really good, it's like a duet between a woman and a synthesiser
@@namecantbeempty2399 also blue dreams and bloody tears was pretty nice
Best genre of song tbh
There's also Computer Dreams by NINA Goddess of Dance. Hehe.
my favorite is Splendor & Misery by clipping. (the whole album)
This sounds like it shouldn't work, but it just does for some reason. Music is a weird and lovely thing.
It’s because it’s written with notes that don’t exist in a keyboard. You might notice that when the color on the screen changes, that’s when the music sounds particularly weird. That’s when the key of the song switches to using only notes that are perfectly in between the notes we have on pianos.

this has become my new favourite series of comments on youtube
i love that the instrumentation changes with the tuning. in case anyone had hope that the gap could be bridged. irreconcilable.
maybe they swap places in the end to show that the distance can be traversed, but i'm reading that the distance remains the same before and after. maybe i'm just projecting though lol.
thusly and furthermore maybe switching place in orbit?
@@thuslyandfurthermore i think, personally, the swap at the end shows them sharing experiences, and bridging the gap between them. they're not so different after all.
that's an insane amount of modulations wtf
what are modulations?
@@DisNotAToast patricia made a video explaining it with this song its in her video essay Playlist
@@nonbinarybastard thanks, ill go check it out!
You genuinely have your own melodic touch. Every song I hear from you sounds purely Patricia while maintaining its integrity as a song, unique from the last. I admire and aspire to this form of artistic consistency.
those are some of the tangiest chords I've ever heard
I can't stop listening to this one. I don't know what it is, there are large swaths of your body of work that do not resonate with me at all but this one really gets to me. It pleases my math brain for some reason. :)
quarter-tone modulation really do be hitting different
This is such a creative song! Conveying love between a robot and a human(or furry idk) by having the keys change when changing really shows how different the two view the world, yet their love is the same
Furry?! What how where? 😅
@@tigerdalandan idk how to tell you this, but Patricia Taxxon is a furry, and recently, she's been making her music relate to furroes in some way, shape, or form. So, a song about two different species, one machine and one organic, could have the organic side be a furry and not a human
I showed this song to my girlfriend and now it almost brings her to tears whenever she sings along

The more I listen to this and get used to the microtonal key shifts the better it sounds, I love it
I have listened to this like 10 times today and I realized that it's your vocals that keep on bringing me back- amazing song Patricia.
Try fifty- I love this song so much
I think the changes of the color of the background capture the modulations perfectly.
this song is hypnotic, i re-listen to it reguarly
Microtonality is weirdly beautiful ):)
me too!
If human consciousness ever transcends from our mortal form, then I see it entirely possible for someone to get down with a mars rover.
I'm damn sure there are people who would try that now, fully knowing the risks.
You have created a piece of true beauty.
Hell yeah microtones. This is delightful, thank you so so much for doing it.
I don't know why, this song feels like a robot first being programmed with emotion and enjoying and being fascinated by the world, completely changing the view on the world of the depressed scientist that built and programmed said robot.
I can't believe that a Mars probe love song got me all teared up
This is equal parts beautiful and dizzying. I love it.
THIS WOULD KILL IF IT WAS ON SPOTIFY

Yeah but it isn't :(

I couldn't help but smile as I listened to this.
Never stop doing what you do. In my list of inspirations, you're up there with Childish Gambino and Tyler, the creator.
Thank you, so much!
This sounds like the centerpiece song from a musical. Love it!
Quarter tone modulation. Nice, it really added that juice I was looking for. Coincidentally, I was also playing around with some micro tonal stuff around the time you were probably making this song. My only regret and short coming as a musician I have is that with all this theoretical knowledge I have no imagination. No knowledge of how to make song even though I've made "songs." This music is truley beautiful Patricia and I wish you well onto your musical journey.
I hope you keep experimenting with different ideas - you might surprise yourself with what you can create!
Love the quarter up modulations, more uplifting than any modulation on 12-step scales. Just everything gets to its place, like when you find the solution in a really depressing situation.
huh, the staircase from girls' last tour. neat.
the duality reminds me so much of one of my favourite things about the gunpoint soundtrack that just doesn't work when not actually playing the game. two pieces that fit together and switch back and forth, something more music should use.
The key changes in this are absolutely sublime
This is AMAZING im never gonna stop listening to it
the way it sounds out of tune but perfectly in tune with itself, like it doesn't need to fit in with the rest of music is such a beautiful thing.
listening to this to try and get through the worst dissociation headache we've had in a long while
Nope just new year new me in the harshest possible sense. I came to be listening to this song and I'm more than ok with that.
DID is wild
I noticed that tell me if im wrong but
When the robot is singing and you're not reading the lyrics it sounds like incomprehensible speech but when you do or if you're used to the song it sounds like actual lyrics
Probably implying that the human and robot we're getting used to each other and eventually falling in love :3
( My fingers hurt😭 )
Love your voice. It’s not technically the best but hey it’s like Gentle Giant. The timbre of the instrument doesn’t really matter when I think the composition is interesting. Btw I love this chord progression and the baroque elements
The Renaissance has truly come again
Noone’s voice is “technically the best” though. It’s all subjective.
Emily trzupek I think Patricia is a great composer, but I don’t like her singing voice that much. It is subjective though
Emily trzupek Yeah. I can’t wait to see what music she makes in a year :)
Emily trzupek yea it’s subjective but I can’t help but love her voice, it gives her all of her music such a unique sound but it’s alien from anything I’ve ever heard before. It adds to the experience
made to be awsome Cool
This song is so catchy and I can’t stop listening
I know jack shit about music. Idk what a microtone is, but I know this sounds good as hell.

In all seriousness though, amazing song. I’ll be jamming to this a lot
Pure unbridled autistism 157/10 keep up the good work
autistism lol😭
Took me this long to realize the spiral staircase actually is in sync with the off-beat at the crest of the wave and it's in sync with the main beat on the other two crests. (I don't know the terminology of any of this stuff, but it goes in and out of phase) neat visual touch !!
Guys I managed to sing the chorus from memory without the track playing and it feels like I got a WR speedrun or something.... idunno tho, it might be easier than I though for most people. Just had to type this out in my little moment of triumph :)

art is the best thing we have in this world
Is the line about a "Longing that my circuits simply weren't built to hold." in reference to the really wide pathways necessary on rover circuits to help make them more resistant to radiation damage? I'm probably reading way too into it, but the rovers have a comparable very limited processing power because of the limitations brought on by the radiation resistant hardware. Neat coincidence at the very least, especially since the line from the human before it refers to radiation.
What a wonderful example of pop/microwave :3
