@Cesar Fernando thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Guaoooo!!! I love it!!! It's karaoke for opera singers, wonderfull idea! I'm a baritone but I love this aria, it's one of my favorite soprano's arias. :)
@@lauracasanovagarcia796 It is for a particular kind of voice, a lot of sopranos sing this role and if you take a look to the score it says: Dalilah: soprano.
Thanks. Good work. I have a comment about the credits, though: The "musique" is certainly by monsieur Saint-Saens, but the "paroles" are not his. The libretto was penned by Ferdinand Lemaire (1832-1879). Could you correct that?
Calon Lan you got that right. I Am just learning this song and I Am wondering about the character of Dalila. It seems from this song that she is in love. But in fact she is just a honey trap, a seductress
@@vitathaisis9407 "Pour me bliss" (Verse-moi l'ivresse).... these are the original lyrics in French ..... I imagine that it is a metaphor to evoke a sexual encounter
@@maalicia73 French people here! "The bliss" in french poetry often refers to a bliss of a feeling (an overwhelming love or despair...) It's less sexual than you can think especially with the world "tenderness" that is a world with a huge connection with feelings, or with worlds like "promises" or "I love you"... However, it is still very sensual and a bit erotic. Saint-Saëns wasn't like Bizet, reaching the limits of the 19th century morality, so with Dalida being already portrayed as a temptress, it seems it's the most he could do without choking the audience of that time. If you want something with a real sexual connotation, try "Je te veux" by Satie. Here it's more about the sensuality of love.

She had her debut as Tosca in greece. Is tosca for Mezzo? No. She just have the range of being able to sing those Dark low notes and solid high notes. That's why she's La Divina.
in an interview, Callas said that she worked hard for her middle voice. Because she was a dramatic soprano. She was a heavy voice. Either way, she was an assoluta. A rare voice that Maestro Serafin has quoted " This woman can sing anything written for the female voice".

Alas, too fast. Try not to sing, and to have time to clearly pronounce French words. It's not ideal, but the pursuit of the orchestra. In this wonderful Aria seducing a tempo singer: the orchestra needs to go after the singer, not Vice versa.
Alas, the tempo marking meticulously chosen by Saint-Seans reads "Andantino" (a little slow) with a quarter note getting 66 bpm. Saint-Saens had a very specific idea of the emotional intent for this aria when he wrote that tempo marking. When tempos are drastically changed the emotional intent is destroyed. Singers need to learn how to put on a metronome and explore what the composer meant by the tempo they wrote. When singers drag tempos while luxuriating in the sound of their own voice, they destroy the emotional intent, put their audience to sleep and perpetuate the belief that operas are boring. This aria karaoke track starts at 66 bpm then changes to "Un poco piu lento" where it is marked in the score. It does the "con espansione." Its "molto espressivo" slows down too much. It returns to 66 bpm at the "Tempo I' mark. It follows the "poco animato", the "stringendo," but then slows down too much at the next "Un poco piu lento" (a LITTLE more slowly).

Nice to see I'm not the first baritone here! The tempo is great, by the way. It actually enables you to sing it with the original phrasing.
i sang it too lol

The reason that I started learning française.
I'm a bartione too, and I like to sing this aria. If I sing in Falsetto, I can almost reach the Mezzo-Soprano tone/timbre this aria was written for.
this is mezzo-soprano, dark color, falsetto is never dark
I'm a bass and I can almost sing this an octave lower than written.
Well, this aria is written for both Mezzo-soprano and Contralto.
@@denyagantenbein2992 I'm an alto-mezzo countertenor with a pretty dark falsetto.
