I discovered this movie because of Tiktok. Salute to all the actors and production team, they did a masterpiece. I cried very hard for this movie especially for Ichiru and Ignacio😭

This movie proves that love has no boundaries and that no matter if you're part of the LGBT or not, you can serve your country and your fellowmen ❤️
Pinalabas ito sa amin nung high school kami (around 2007) ng History teacher namin. Dito ko na admire iyong husay ni Dennis Trillo (since alam ko nang mahusay na aktor talaga sina Jay Manalo at Judy Ann). Kaya ngayong gumaganap si Dennis bilang Ibarra sa MCI, bumabalik sa akin iyong performance niya sa pelikulang ito. Mahuhusay pa rin talaga ang mga aktor natin (at mga bumubuo sa Filipino entertainment in general), kelangan lang talaga nila ng suporta mula sa ating manonood din.

This film is gold, that was great characterization writing especially for Ichiro and Igna, a love that persevere in time of war, race, gender, conflicting beliefs and ideologies, they chose to love each other. Ichiro saying he doesn’t want Ignacio to stop loving his country and also chose to die by Seppuku with his last line ‘I can’t be with you without honor.’ The people behind this film understood the values of Ichiro as a Japanese and the heavy price of him loving Igna. And Igna saying she was a traitor but the only betrayal he actually did is to love a man from another race during times of war, but he never killed his people.
And of course great acting to Denis (Our Ibarra!), Judy Ann and Jay Manalo.

I found this one when I was scrolling on Tiktok yesterday. I would like to say that this movie is a MASTERPIECE! It can re enact some of the happenings between the Filipino, American-Japan war. But this one proves that love is equal for everyone. No matter what the gender , or your race is. Love is unstoppable. Many innocents suffered, this movie does not only contain the act of loving your own country but also how everyone should respect the LGBTQ community. EQUALITY FOR EVERYONE!!!

Just finished the movie. WOW, I'm in tears. All of the actors gave a magnificent performance in this movie! Andami mo ring matututunan sa movie na'to, it shows how every single one of us are just two sides of the same coin. Maliban sa mga katulad ni Maura/Mara, salot sa lipunan. Atsaka, the LGBT+ representation in this movie, shows na hindi lang mga kababaihan o kalalakihan ang mga bayani natin. Every one of us is capable of bringing honor to our own country, able to love and forgive. No matter what race, color, or gender. Kaya must watch talaga 'to guys!

When I was a kid I've watched this movie and I only felt pitty for Ignacio for suffering and being tortured.I accidentally saw this movie again.I forgot some scenes.But now that I grow up.I've realized a lot about this movie not only the patriotism or the love for the country but also how we should respect more the LGBTQ.It is really true that love doesn't have a gender.This movie is one of the best.

Ang gagaling nina Dennis, Judy Ann, Raymart at lalo na si Jay Manalo. Laid back lang ang atake niya pero siya ang pinaka-believable na character dito bilang isang bisexual Japanese officer na umibig sa transvestite na ginampanan ni Dennis. A super movie with brilliant acting, set design and directing. Kudos to Joel Lamangan for this movie way above the rest.

Tiktok made me watch this and I didn't regret doing so. Ignacio and Ichiro's love story has impacted me a lot, that love can be unconditional, unexpected and harsh but that's the beauty of it that everyone should embrace. This is recommended movie I saw on Tiktok. I cried very hard for the true and pure love of Ichiru and Ignacio. They found purest love in the time of war. USAFFE soldiers that were captured by the Japanese during WWII and then THE BATAAN DEATH MARCH where my father was able
to escape.... skin and bones and got TUBERCULOSIS from which he died of in 1966. This movie also made me emotional at the end

I saw this on one of the clip on FB kaya hinanap ko yung full movie. And I can tell na hindi nasayang ang 1:45mins ko sa movie na ito. I'm in tears!. Kudos to all the cast. Walang tapon. Specially Dennis Trillo. Grabe yung love sknya ni Ichiro. Naiyak ako ng sobra dun sa nagpakamatay si Ichiro. At higit sa lahat dun sa pagkakaibigang hndi ka ilalaglag kahit magkamatayan. Ignacio, despite of being criticized, got the love that he deserves, sadly it doesn't last, but he experienced being loved truly, natanggap s'ya ng taong mahal n'ya at mga taong naka paligid sa kanya. This is one of the best Philippine movie that I've ever watched. Sobrang tagal na nito, pero ang dami mong makukuhang aral patungkol sa pagmamahal natin sa ating bansa at lalu na pinaintindi sa atin kung paano magmahal ng sobra ng walang kinikilalang kasarian o ibang lahi. I do remember way back mid 2k sobrang sikat ang Char-Gel love team. Dennis were always like the 3rd player, back up lang sya palagi. Then this movie came humakot si Dennis ng sandamakmak na best actor awards local/international. which was first time nangyari sa mga Leading Men ng GMA at that time. aside of sobrang pinuri pa sya ni Judy Ann Santos about his acting skills. From then nagkaroon sya ng premium sa showbiz.nabigyan nila ng kakompetensya si JLC sa TV Drama at naihanay sya sa mga Top Leading Mens ng Phil.Showbiz. for me isa sya sa mga "iilang artista" na sumikat talaga dahil sa talent and not the other way around. New set of young actors must learn from him.

Anita Linda reminds me of Gloria Stewart in Titanic. Bawat line ni Anita Linda, ramdam mo yung sakit. As to Juday, the acting is superb as always. Dennis Trillo is the scene stealer here. Jaclyn Jose, Angelou de Leon and even the Mon, showcased their talents too. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi ito ang naging Best Picture noon sa MMFF. We Filipinos should support films like this. Para ang bawat film makers na may ganitong konsepto, makagawa ulit ng mga dekalibreng pelikula.
