Richtersveld. Is De Hoop the best campsite ever?

We travel from Potjies Pram to De Hoop, inside the Richtersveld park. This is our 3rd visit to De Hoop and don't think we'll ever get tired of it. It may have a lot to do with the fact that we started this overland channel at De Hoop but still, nothing beats a strong flowing river in front of your tent.
Part 3 will be the last video of this trip where we show you the Fortuner upgrades and explore the Richtersberg route. Richtersveld, just magic!

1. One of my favorite places to visit. Always wild camped in in the heritage section. Never been to any of the formal camps. So some proper FOMO now 🙈
2. Love all there vehicles! I have a Landcruiser, I had a Fortuner and I secretly have a love affair with Jimnys.

We were there 30 yrs ago, for the first time. Camping was very different then. De hoop camping was free, nobody knew about it those days. Cooler box, no Engle fridge, one spare tire, top and bottom hoses, no cellphone either. Closest petrol station was Port Nolloth, or Springbok. Kubu island was the same those years, free and no charge.

Thanks. Beautiful area. I once camped informally on the Namibian side quite close to De Hoop. Just rolled my mattress and sleeping bag out next to the car.
