100% yes! I finally played City and know that everyone loves The Mr. Freeze fight, but I personally enjoyed Clayface's so much more. Action packed and it was fun dodging his attacks.
I LOVED Firefly’s fight because of the scale and action in it. I have a HUGE kink for action set pieces in anything and that fight handled it exceptionally
The moment when it pans out right before the fight and shows Batman's insignificant size next to Grundy's is definitely, imo, one of the best 'Feel like Batman' moments
Croc from Asylum is probably one of my favorites. Though it’s not really action-packed with combat like the battle with Deathstroke in AO, it’s possibly the most tense I’ve ever been while playing the series, even more than the drill fight in AK. The dialogue from Croc, the slow torturous pace, and the maze-like structure of the sewers makes it feel like a horror/action fight, and it feels better than the confusing terror of the Scarecrow entrance in AA
the thing about the croc fight is it loses its shine on replays, I think that keeps it out of top 5 for me. but man, the first time going through it is something special

The Bane end boss in Origins *terrifies* me. It's quite literally my worst nightmare realised: Being trapped in cramped corridors with some big, bad monster that wants me dead. Made worse when the jamming mechanism kicks in. 😱 While I would equally agree with your choices, I've a few I'm quite fond of. I think *Ra's Al-Ghul's* fight was rather good, in spite of what his presence does to the game's story. *Firefly* is great because he's forces you to use gadgets-only tactics. I love the idea of an enemy with more mobility than the player and working around that. I sort of have a soft spot for *Poison Ivy's* fight, even though it's very traditional as bosses go. I still think it's the best in Asylum, though that's not saying much. *Clayface* is fun, especially when the sword comes into play. Incidentally, how cool would sword fighting be with this combat engine?

The load times are obnoxious (it's borderline Sonic 06 bad), just pausing (which you need to do a lot) has you wait about 5 seconds, the draw distance and texture quality is abysmal, the port is very glitchy and to top it all off, because the port was handled by different developers, the Nemesis system is VERY watered down. Basically, if you're gonna get it, get it on PS4/Xbox One/PC, only get it on the PS3 if you have no other choice, and if there's a Xbox 360 version (which there probably is), I feel sorry for whatever unfortunate souls own it.

It’s cool and somewhat emotional hearing Batman and Jason talking to each other. 4: Joker (City). It’s a really fun combat encounter against the best villain in comics. The arena location is cool, and it throws all the enemy types you’ve encountered so far in the game at you. 3: Scarecrow (Asylum). Scarecrow is one of the best Batman villains, and these fights portray him perfectly. Add a completely unique style of gameplay only seen in this fight, and wham. You got yourself a good fight. 2: Deathstroke (Origins). It’s the combination of all the skills you’ve learned from combat in the series, condensed into one single fight. 1: Mister Freeze (City). If Deathstroke is the combination of all your combat skills, Mister Freeze is the combination of all your stealth skills. It’s pretty easy on regular difficulty settings, but in new game plus, it’s genuinely grueling.

I had a lot of hate for it because I lost 17-18 hours of progress because I encountered a game breaking glitch and it auto saved so I had to restart the game and on the second round I just rushed through it just to beat it so I don’t feel I fully enjoyed it as much as I could have. Wish they had brought it to current consoles, I def would’ve given it another chance

The Mr Freeze boss battle even had its own trailer, with possibly one of the most badass villain introductions ever. "You will bring me Nora. Or you...will...DIE!". That change in his voice as he closes his helmet is incredible, and you know they nailed it when you go to the comments section of the trailer and see tons of people specifically praising that tiny detail.
I enjoy these videos so much. I'm playing knight at the moment and I rather enjoyed the mad hatter fight. I had no idea he could do that. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
I feel like what made the Mr Freeze and Deathstroke boss battles really stand out was the fact that it was 1 on 1, it didn't rely on throwing hordes of goons at you to extend the gameplay or increase the difficulty like most of the series does
The Origins Deathstroke boss fight has always been one of my favorites solely for the animation and fight choreography of the counters, especially when Deathstroke starts using a sword.
My Top 5 Favourite Arkham Series boss battles. In no specific order. 1. Ra's Al Ghul - I really enjoyed the way the boss battle transitions from the mental/hallucinatory world to the real world. 2. Solomon Grundy - He felt like a genuine upgrade from other really large and intimidating bosses, like the Titan mini-bosses/Bane. Plus I enjoyed how he visually changes/deteriorates as the fight progresses. 3. Mister Freeze - The way he constantly adapts is brilliant, fighting him on hard mode is my favourite, since you have to employ even more tactics to defeat him and the entire room ends up entirely coated in layers of ice. 4. Deathstroke - The Origins battle was great, I wish this kind of battle had been used in Knight at least as a second stage boss battle after the tank one. 5. Clayface - He might not be the hardest boss battle, but his fight is also visually interesting and varied. You have the big Clayface monster form you have to freeze, plus his use of making lots of minions to fight you. Honorable Mentions 1. Professor Pyg - I do really love this boss battle, but it's only made as good as it is, thanks to the build up from the side-mission. Coupled with the creepy opera and Dollotrons. 2. Titan Joker - First I like this fight, cause it felt like a bit of a homage to that one episode of The Batman 2004 animated series. It's not a particularly hard fight obviously, but it's pretty fun. Just not as entertaining/mentally stimulating as other boss fights. 3. Firefly - His Origins boss fight could definitely made it in my top 5. I wish we had a similar fight in Knight. 4. Bane - His origins fight was definitely better than his Asylum one. I mean I get that he's been through a lot so he's not at his peak performance in that game, but you only learn that later. Origins Bane couples Brain and Brawn well.
Tbh, I actually really LOVE the riddler boss fight in knight, having to use Batman and Catwoman, was extremely dope and to actually feel like you defeated riddler in an actual fight instead of a one hit take down is so incredibly satisfying:)
When you whip out the sword, that got on my nerves about origins. When playing as deathstroke you couldn't use his sword even though there was already animations and shit. I mean you could argue that it make it too easy but a few sword fights against the ninjas who had swords might of been cool.

Dude ra's al ghūl deserves a spot in this list. I remember playing city when i was six and that was boss fight was my entire childhood. I replayed the story countless times to experience it again.
Origins and City are my two favorites in the series. Asylum I love but it's not the same as the other 3. It's like a separate game series. Knight was such a chore even if it had a somewhat interesting story that was done poorly. That being said, one thing I hated about Asylym and City was the characterization of Bane. Rocksteady did a shitty job with Bane while being on point with his other enemies. WB Montreal made Bane what he should have been all along.
Mr freeze’s boss battle has always been my favorite. I wish that you could replay cause I would do it over and over again, and having to figure out every single takedown you can do is the best part
I especially love the ng+ version of the freeze fight as he had more health and I was genuinely brainstorming ways to take him down. I literally ended up having to do a line launcher takedown!

The deathstroke boss battle in Knight was a big disappointment 😕. I was so excited to finish all the checkpoints, watchtowers and the ground mine things. I was excited to fight him and use my gadgets in a real fist fight 😕
The deathstroke fight was the closest to a player vs player fight In the next game wb should capitalize on that maybe with a talon and make it very similar to the for honor combat for the boss fight honestly my favorite boss fights are those that stray away from a boss mechanic wave type system and more of a free flow combat against an advanced ai

The Deathstroke fight is more subtle than I thought it first, the last time I fought him I was actually able to beat him without ever triggering the QuickTime event involving the remote call and I did it on hard

Degenerate Jay yeah the boss fight felt like the ultimate combat challenge. It was frustrating at first. It took elements from the Raa's al ghul bossfight and the build up to the fight with batman barely able to walk from the poison and the illusions were really well done imo. As for the actual list, another nice thing about 5 through 3 on the list (no spoilers) is how varied they are in their own extended sections. One of them even segues (after a pause) into the best proper Joker finale so far! (Or second best perhaps.) #4 and #3 are strongly plot-relevant, too. I might even rank them over your #2 (though that one's great.) If #1 has a superior version however, that might be in Arkham Origins. Maybe. I don't like it quite as much myself, but it could be arguably considered better.
Aside Mr Freeze in City, Firefly in Origins is my absolute favourite boss fight. The whole buildup to it with the bombs gave the whole fight this sense of urgency, like I genuinely needed to take him down quickly or the bridge would blow. Super fun!
What I appreciate most about this list is how you trolled opening with the Croc fight! That had me grinning painfully. (Though the Croc fight does get points for trying to do something different.)
This is very late but I feel like an underrated boss fight, if you want to call it one, is the battle from Arkham city against the clayface joker. I like how it takes every type of enemy you’ve encountered plus “joker”. It just felt very cool to have one massive fist fight near the end.
Finally someone else who thinks it's overrated besides me! Like its not even the best in City either the Solomon Grundy, Ra's Al Ghul and Clayface fights were all better and the Deathstroke, Bane and Firefly fights were also way better than the Freeze fight
Brenton Taylor the reason why people like it, is because it forces you to thing outside the box, for me I think ra’s boss fight is better, Grundy had a good idea, but was baby mode, even on new story plus (well the whole game was, except a few moments)
I don't get all the hate for Origins. After it got patched, it's my second favorite right after Arkham City. Bane's character was great, the boss fights were great, the detective crime scenes were pretty fun, the GCPD building and hotel segment were among the most memorable in the series, and I actually liked the more down-to-earth and simple story.
Not entirely sure if this counts as a boss, but I absolutely adore the Killer Croc section in Asylum. It's tense, atmospheric, and you really feel like you're getting farther and farther away from safety as you venture deeper into the old sewer only to have to find your way out afterwards.
What's great about the Deathstroke boss battle is that Deathstroke recognizes your fight patterns as you play and you HAVE to evolve your fight patterns to beat him. Little things like that add to the gameplay and the character.
I would’ve included killer crocs boss fight in Arkham knight, I just love the fighting chemistry Batman has with night wings, makes for some pretty insane takedowns. But maybe it’s better fit to be in 6th or 7th place
I agree mostly, except I would've done Killer Croc from Arkham Asylum instead of Bane from Origins. The tension of knowing he's somewhere underneath you, lurking, ready to kill you in one strike, it's just terrifying. That and when you consider that stealth was the only thing between you and an untimely death.
I actually really liked the Riddler mech from Arkham Knight as it forces you to switch between Batman and Catwoman to defeat the robots while riddler fireslasers and had a shield. It was quite enjoyable

Bane diminishment in Arkham Asylum and City is justified by the physical trauma he endored in Arkham Origins. However, his extra rage in Asylum can be Easily justified by the fact that seconds prior, he had Zero Venom in his system. Then he Immediately got All of it pumped back into his system in a matter of seconds. I say his rage there is More than justifiable.

I feel like what made the Mr Freeze and Deathstroke boss battles really stand out was the fact that it was 1 on 1, it didn't rely on throwing hordes of goons at you to extend the gameplay or increase the difficulty like most of the series does

The Origins Deathstroke boss fight has always been one of my favorites solely for the animation and fight choreography of the counters, especially when Deathstroke starts using a sword.
My Top 5 Favourite Arkham Series boss battles. In no specific order.
1. Ra's Al Ghul - I really enjoyed the way the boss battle transitions from the mental/hallucinatory world to the real world.
2. Solomon Grundy - He felt like a genuine upgrade from other really large and intimidating bosses, like the Titan mini-bosses/Bane. Plus I enjoyed how he visually changes/deteriorates as the fight progresses.
3. Mister Freeze - The way he constantly adapts is brilliant, fighting him on hard mode is my favourite, since you have to employ even more tactics to defeat him and the entire room ends up entirely coated in layers of ice.
4. Deathstroke - The Origins battle was great, I wish this kind of battle had been used in Knight at least as a second stage boss battle after the tank one.
5. Clayface - He might not be the hardest boss battle, but his fight is also visually interesting and varied. You have the big Clayface monster form you have to freeze, plus his use of making lots of minions to fight you.
Honorable Mentions
1. Professor Pyg - I do really love this boss battle, but it's only made as good as it is, thanks to the build up from the side-mission. Coupled with the creepy opera and Dollotrons.
2. Titan Joker - First I like this fight, cause it felt like a bit of a homage to that one episode of The Batman 2004 animated series. It's not a particularly hard fight obviously, but it's pretty fun. Just not as entertaining/mentally stimulating as other boss fights.
3. Firefly - His Origins boss fight could definitely made it in my top 5. I wish we had a similar fight in Knight.
4. Bane - His origins fight was definitely better than his Asylum one. I mean I get that he's been through a lot so he's not at his peak performance in that game, but you only learn that later. Origins Bane couples Brain and Brawn well.

Tbh, I actually really LOVE the riddler boss fight in knight, having to use Batman and Catwoman, was extremely dope and to actually feel like you defeated riddler in an actual fight instead of a one hit take down is so incredibly satisfying:)

When you whip out the sword, that got on my nerves about origins. When playing as deathstroke you couldn't use his sword even though there was already animations and shit. I mean you could argue that it make it too easy but a few sword fights against the ninjas who had swords might of been cool.

Prety much the mr freeze boss fight was what cemented Mr Freeze as my favorite batman villian. Even how he does the fight just so batman will save his wife is so great
Dude ra's al ghūl deserves a spot in this list. I remember playing city when i was six and that was boss fight was my entire childhood. I replayed the story countless times to experience it again.
Origins and City are my two favorites in the series. Asylum I love but it's not the same as the other 3. It's like a separate game series. Knight was such a chore even if it had a somewhat interesting story that was done poorly.
That being said, one thing I hated about Asylym and City was the characterization of Bane. Rocksteady did a shitty job with Bane while being on point with his other enemies. WB Montreal made Bane what he should have been all along.
I get you. Asylum could work as a comic book in the main universe but the rest feel like their own universe
City and Asylum are masterpieces

Yes! Origins had the best boss fights and the 2nd best hand to hand combat. City had the best story and 2nd best boss fights.
Mr freeze’s boss battle has always been my favorite. I wish that you could replay cause I would do it over and over again, and having to figure out every single takedown you can do is the best part
I especially love the ng+ version of the freeze fight as he had more health and I was genuinely brainstorming ways to take him down. I literally ended up having to do a line launcher takedown!

The deathstroke boss battle in Knight was a big disappointment 😕. I was so excited to finish all the checkpoints, watchtowers and the ground mine things. I was excited to fight him and use my gadgets in a real fist fight 😕

The deathstroke fight was the closest to a player vs player fight In the next game wb should capitalize on that maybe with a talon and make it very similar to the for honor combat for the boss fight honestly my favorite boss fights are those that stray away from a boss mechanic wave type system and more of a free flow combat against an advanced ai

When I was playing the scarecrow encounters the first time, I legit thought my game was broken.
The Deathstroke fight is more subtle than I thought it first, the last time I fought him I was actually able to beat him without ever triggering the QuickTime event involving the remote call and I did it on hard

Degenerate Jay yeah the boss fight felt like the ultimate combat challenge. It was frustrating at first. It took elements from the Raa's al ghul bossfight and the build up to the fight with batman barely able to walk from the poison and the illusions were really well done imo. As for the actual list, another nice thing about 5 through 3 on the list (no spoilers) is how varied they are in their own extended sections. One of them even segues (after a pause) into the best proper Joker finale so far! (Or second best perhaps.) #4 and #3 are strongly plot-relevant, too. I might even rank them over your #2 (though that one's great.)
If #1 has a superior version however, that might be in Arkham Origins. Maybe. I don't like it quite as much myself, but it could be arguably considered better.

Aside Mr Freeze in City, Firefly in Origins is my absolute favourite boss fight. The whole buildup to it with the bombs gave the whole fight this sense of urgency, like I genuinely needed to take him down quickly or the bridge would blow. Super fun!

What I appreciate most about this list is how you trolled opening with the Croc fight! That had me grinning painfully. (Though the Croc fight does get points for trying to do something different.)

This is very late but I feel like an underrated boss fight, if you want to call it one, is the battle from Arkham city against the clayface joker. I like how it takes every type of enemy you’ve encountered plus “joker”. It just felt very cool to have one massive fist fight near the end.

Finally someone else who thinks it's overrated besides me! Like its not even the best in City either the Solomon Grundy, Ra's Al Ghul and Clayface fights were all better and the Deathstroke, Bane and Firefly fights were also way better than the Freeze fight
Brenton Taylor the reason why people like it, is because it forces you to thing outside the box, for me I think ra’s boss fight is better, Grundy had a good idea, but was baby mode, even on new story plus (well the whole game was, except a few moments)

Crocs design in asylum was amazing
I don't get all the hate for Origins. After it got patched, it's my second favorite right after Arkham City. Bane's character was great, the boss fights were great, the detective crime scenes were pretty fun, the GCPD building and hotel segment were among the most memorable in the series, and I actually liked the more down-to-earth and simple story.
Bro that Arkham Orgins Deathstroke battle felt like a real Batman hand to hand combat fight and that’s why I liked it
Not entirely sure if this counts as a boss, but I absolutely adore the Killer Croc section in Asylum. It's tense, atmospheric, and you really feel like you're getting farther and farther away from safety as you venture deeper into the old sewer only to have to find your way out afterwards.
The mr freeze fight made me feel like a genius that is to say it made me feel like Batman
What's great about the Deathstroke boss battle is that Deathstroke recognizes your fight patterns as you play and you HAVE to evolve your fight patterns to beat him. Little things like that add to the gameplay and the character.

I agree mostly, except I would've done Killer Croc from Arkham Asylum instead of Bane from Origins. The tension of knowing he's somewhere underneath you, lurking, ready to kill you in one strike, it's just terrifying. That and when you consider that stealth was the only thing between you and an untimely death.
I actually really liked the Riddler mech from Arkham Knight as it forces you to switch between Batman and Catwoman to defeat the robots while riddler fireslasers and had a shield. It was quite enjoyable

The mr freeze fight was nuts when I first played it.
Bane diminishment in Arkham Asylum and City is justified by the physical trauma he endored in Arkham Origins. However, his extra rage in Asylum can be Easily justified by the fact that seconds prior, he had Zero Venom in his system. Then he Immediately got All of it pumped back into his system in a matter of seconds. I say his rage there is More than justifiable.
