What small issues has there been with 850 E-Tec? Which shocks are you talking about adjusting and what adjustment is needed? Have you since done the T-Motion lockout with the spindles?

I was just more or less referring to the etec motor in general has had very few motors go down from what I've seen. Every motor has issues but the etec 850 has been pretty bulletproof over the years. You see them toast the mag side lower rod bearing or a top end go out here or there but not very often. That's basically all I was meaning. Nothing real specific but every once in a while you hear an issue. Shocks I really didn't have much adjustment at all where these were the standard shocks but I didn't mess with my springs or anything after I out the spindles on where I really probably should have. Where it puts you higher in the front it put more pressure/less pressure or preload on the different shocks and I probably could have gotten a better handling feel if I would've played with it a little more. I have since sold the sled and never got to do the lockout or the z motion. I do have a zmotion but no sled to put it on lol.

Has anyone tried these spindles on a 2023 Lynx Shredder w/ the ZRP 34" Billet A-Arm kit? Do they give you your full turning radius back? Does it help the sled to track straight on a sidehill instead of wanting to dive straight down or straight up the hill?

I havent as I primarily ride polaris. I found with the sled I ran them on it helped improve the handling significantly but didn't eliminate that issue completely. The sled was much more predictable but still wanted to dive on a sidehill. Countertsteer on a skidoo is your best friend to track a decent sidehill rather than it wanting to throw you down or dive in to the side.

Have people applied the spindles to sleds that are used for trail riding. I have a new Mach Z and want to improve handling.

I'm not sure on this. We don't have much for trail sleds in my area. Typically the taller the center of gravity is better for mountain sleds to help reduce drag in the snow and make it tipper which I would think would be the opposite of what you'd want for a trail sled.

Awesome thanks man! I'm sure the RIP kit would be that much better but overall the spindles are awesome 👌

How did you press the ball joints into the new spindles

    • @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587

The way that I did it is by putting the nut on finger tight and then pressing down on the top of the ball joints so the taper in the spindle holds the ball joint from spinning while I used a ratchet wrench to tighten it in. No problems. If you still fight it I'd use some slip joint pliers with a rag on the jaws so you don't scuff the spindle and squeeze the top of the balljoint down in the spindle taper. Or you could use a c clamp to do the same thing. Once it holds at the first you should be good. Hope that helps!

When your talking about adjusting the front shocks, are you putting more or less preload on the springs with these spindles? Or is a new shock required?

It really depends what shocks you already have on your machine. The rear ones are the ones that will be changed more from this setup as it changes the geometry of the rear by raising the front so you have to compensate for that. Your front shocks you can play with to get your desired handling for the trail and sidehill which I ended up stiffening mine a little. The front track shock I stiffened up and then played with settings from there. Can't really remember where I ended up on it. Aftermarket shocks will give you much more to be adjusted and dial in for sure though. "Shock therapy" from skinz on youtube will give you a better understanding of shock settings and which sled shock does what. I recommend watching it.

    Are your shocks upside down??

I didn't buy the sled new so I don't know how it came stock. This is the way I got it and they are the cheaper shocks with the twist adjustability on the bottom as you see it. I know side x sides that have similar shocks as these are set the same way as these are. It makes it easier to adjust them.

It’s probably too soon to know but will these fit on a Lynx BD as well ???

I'm honestly unsure at this point but with how similar the skidoo and the lynx are I definitely wouldn't be surprised!

As a good starting point, what adjustment did you do to your suspension? Thanks

I left mine in the beginning where it was stock but I liked the shocks a bit stiffer on the front and then for rear shocks I stiffened the front and played with it from there.
