We just left this area 2-3 days after the fire started. We were camping up here in N.Cali. It's surreal watching this unfold. It gives us chills thinking we could have been trapped. It's also creepy that we have photos of this area before this fire. May Jesus Christ protect all 🙌🏾🙏🏿

I remember when the smoke and glow reached San Francisco, it was at the start of the pandemic too. Skyscrapers against a dark orange sky, clouds of ash raining down, the city empty except a few people rushing around in masks.

As a resident in Yreka who still remembers the camp fire in Paradise like it was yesterday, I can’t tell you how horrifying it was to go to bed and wake up early in the morning to learn that a fire that was several miles away was at a couple of hundred acres, is now burning nearly 20,000 acres and is creeping closer to home.
These videos would be so much better without Chuckelnuts at the end of them.
I was camping at Silver lake, last weekend. We got smoked out from this and the Oak fire, it was nuts. There was zero visibility, the sunset was pretty amazing though.
In America, Global warming is considered a hoax.......all we can offer is thoughts and prayers.

Well, considering this catastrophe is only happening because corrupt politicians refuse to allow the clearing of deadfall and dried underbursh from the forests in order to use the inevitable fires that result for political purposes, it's understandable. And it also doesn't help the case that heatwaves were almost this severe and in some cases more severe anearly a hundred years ago and since then we've burned many hundreds of billions of gallons of gas with seemingly only a neglegible effect on temperatures, if any at all. Such things make people with functioning brains very suspicious of the obvious lies they're continuously told about global warming.

That's why I am moving to Florida in 2 weeks so soon those wildfires can kiss me goodbye when I leave but mostly it's the toxicity that bothers me so much

I drove by Yreka on my way north around 4 AM Sunday hauling a load up to Wilsonville, OR. Didn't see any fire glow from the interstate, just a bunch of smoke. Hopefully it doesn't impact commerce on the interstate, bit hard to tell at the moment. I feel years ago my friends and a relative up in Phoenix, OR lost their homes in the fires up there. I hope the firefighters can prevent this inferno from reaching Yreka and the interstate, my best wishes to the the frontline workers and residents dealing with this disaster.

Timber sawed down should be gathered in long stripped areas. These areas should be wide enough so they can help stop forest fires from spreading and it would leave firefighters room enough to enter the stripped areas to fight the fires more easily. For the most part, timber should be cut down in the mountains that are closer to towns. I know that this would look strange but it could be very helpful to save people's homes and lives. It's like having a strategic war against forest fires. Most timber is selected individually to be cut down. That is ok as long as they cut the stripped areas out as well to prevent the spread of fires. When will they ever learn?

Why are there forest fires only in California every summer and not in other parts of America?
We were in AZ enjoying the forests there and it’s because they allow them to go in and cut down the dead trees and dried brush that fuel these big fires. CA has too many laws against deforestation. I had a friend in the forestry Dept in CA and they are so frustrated they can’t clean up.
