- Welcome to a free for all in Third Age Total War. This battle takes place in a map called mountain pass. It is packed with hidden paths, slight hills, and valleys. Commanders must use them wisely to take victory! 4 Army march into a Mountain Pass, but only one will leave.

Why do I block out the Mini-Map with annotations for Sub battle replays?
I block it out because the Mini-Map gives away who sent in the battle replay. And in most cases whoever sends in the battle replay wins the battle. So I block it to keep it a surprise :D

the name of the general of the elves should be scumbag! but you ahve to admit that the elves use the terrain wisely this is propably the bets strategy for this map!

+Pixelated Apollo Hey Apollo, I made a comment a bit ago about a replay I sent in, not sure if you saw it. I am just trying to make sure that you are getting the replays that I send in, because you said at 12:55 in the video that you had a lack of Third Age replays.
I was under the assumption that you had a large backlog of content to go through, and I had no idea how long it takes you to go from sent replay to published video. But since you have stated that there is a lack of content coming in, I just wanted to make sure that everything was going through alright in case I was doing something wrong.

Arnor and Gondor are easily my two absolute favorite factions, but the Arnorians are absolutely no. 1 in my book.
Isengard got massacred in the most epic way possible.
It is always so satisfying to watch dozens of troops get wiped out by artillery and then burned to a crisp.
the elves played it smart, why risk your men when you can let others kill themselves

I think it's not fair to blame elven army for the proper use of terrain, I believe, that the problem is in the map itself, there should have been a way or two to outflank their position, like the Gundabad cav was trying to do
Proper use of a much better spawn?
+crunch9876 isengard had a similar spawn, and gundabad and arnor could have easily found terain like that, not a better spawn
+Warboss Sloth Pope Fuzy It's a game, so in terms of balance every decision and position on map needs to have its pros and cons. Elven army had a lot of archers and some catapults, so it is obvious, that they chose to take that hill, everyone would do the same, why throwing them at enemy, so they get slaughtered, when you can place them in the safe spot

I honestly feel like the players in this one really reflected what their respective forces would do. Sarumon would have split his forces in order to surround his enemies, and he would have had so many troops on the field. The elves would definitely turtle up and use their archers to their advantage while using their cavalry for quick precision strikes. The Orcs and the Men would go head first and battle it out. I think from a game perspective what the Elves did sucked but it was definitely a solid strategic move

You know that he lost Waterloo because he split up 50k to pursue the Prussians and the Prussians came to help Wellington - without the French army supposed to fight them in sight.
+SebD94 i think he is referring to the maxium of napoleon of "march divided and fight united :D....which unfortunetly due to Grouchy's lack of pressure on the Prussians lead to the allies being reunited on the battlefield :D

The move by the elves may have been "scummy" but its damn effective. Best bows in the game, how are you not going to camp and the insane hill.

I know it's a bit scummy to hill camp but it went with his strategy of a mostly archer army,And it's a tactical position Genrals ( unless really stupid) wouldn't give up there terrain advantage as unfair as it looked

i think arrow2daknee did a great job, people dont like camping because it is a highly disadvantage move against them and they hate it because they lose the chances of an easy victory. arrow2daknee simply used the lay of the land as a tactical advantage. this is a game of strategic warfare, and he took full advantage of the mountains strategic advantage. you also said free for all is about having fun, well maybe this was his way of having fun. war is not fare and in order to achieve victory you must be the best. i applaud arrow2daknee for using strategy and patients to win this war.

anyone can run into battle to fuck shit up even in battle patients can win the day as proven in this battle. its not all about killing in a giant battle you need to study the actions of your enemy so you can achieve the least amount of casualties with the maximum amount of kills. as I said he used the land as a tactical advantage to gain the upper hand over his enemy he played it smart. war is unfare and takes more strategy then most people can imagine.
jordyn cooper nope this is a game not real life.Besides it takes more planning when attacking not camping ,like using flanks,cav...Camping in GAMES is a dick move that shows that the person doesnt give two fucks about giving a fair fight.Yea war is unfair and to win you need to do this but this a game.

maybe he likes to view things as a real life situations. maybe he takes it very seriously. each person has a different fighting style that best fits them. his just happens to be defense that is his strength. its better to go into combat (game or not) using your greatest strengths as your Ally. most prefer the offense while others prefer defense. an offensive army needs a defensive army, and a defensive army needs an offensive army to help balance the playing field and help ensure you will not be overrun. the other players used offense and were able to kill off most of the enemy leaving a lesser army for the defense to take on, and because of that it helped ensure their victory. usually the defense doesn't get the credit but it is an important roll.

Its like going into a game where people are using knifes and duches like this elf player takes out the pistol and kills them all.Or when in school whole class leaves and you are the only one who stayed because its the right thing but you will be known as a bitch in class and rightfully so(unless the situation is very important so you couldnt leave).Oh sure he won but proved thats hes a coward whos too afraid to fight with balls.True players are players like Arnor not this coward.Who even when faced against a enemy thats weak being a evil faction and lost majority of his army,still camps like a little bitch.The true loser as Apollo said is the elves.
But whatever if he likes to win even if it would prob caused other players to not invite him again then fine,i hope he likes playing alone with bots.

Good battle, but the camper ruined it a bit. He should have come down and fought fairely.
Someone should make a custom battle for this map, like a 2v3 where the 2 guys try to hold the pass against the orcs

wouldn't you use terrain if you have it? is a pretty smart move to position the archers up there... I understand that you don't like it, but tactically it's in my opinion a wise decision... Moving up your troops onto a mountain path, so there will be only one litte way to defend and because of the climbing terrain your archers are able to fire above the frontlines into the reinforcments of the enemy... Or is that not wise? "camping" may not be the most glorious move, but in the end he was able to decide this battle for him... (that's what I think is the most important, secondly would be man standing wich are quite many) No one cares about how many men were killed if you are able to defend your interests in the region that was the place of conflict... though thanks for sharing that cool stuff^^ really a nice map
GundaPlays you might be able to keep more of your men alive... it's the move of a calculating commander putting the lives of his people above "earned respect" (though you would earn quite a bit of respect from your own people for trying to preserve their lives...). Those who are to narrow minded (to see the brilliance/easiness of this tactic) are not worthy of your friendship, because they will also perish soon. As for the gaming view, yeah... bad luck for his oponents that they made the wrong moves... that's war... but hey it was an epic last charge...
GundaPlays yep agree partly with that^^ but you sure that they did not make bad moves? depending on what you look at, they could have much different moves, that might have been much better...

Hello! I a have little problem. I've installed the tatw just like the steam guide says but i can't play multiplayer battles. It says that my data game files are not compatible (i have changed the name of folder to teutonic just like the host has). Can someone help me please?
Aranor should have been the winner. his stand and sandwich plan worked perfectly. Th High Elves where smart but it was pretty unfair and they didn't really deserve the win just like Pixel said.
Even at the start of the battle the elves were going to win because all they had to do was just sit and wait on the best position ever and wait for the winner to come to them
lol everyone is salty about the elves but it really was the best tactical decision. If you want to win you have to do what's best in the situation.
