Unused OTS Camera - Godzilla: Unleashed (PS2)

- This camera mode was used in Godzilla: Save the Earth's challenges and was originally supposed to be used in its story mode before it was cut. While similar to Unleashed's "story" camera, the OTS (over-the-shoulder) camera allows you to move the camera using the right analog stick, whereas the story camera can't be controlled and stays in a fixed position behind your character. The story camera transitions into the versus mode camera when entering combat. The OTS camera does not, but it allows you to lock onto opponents by pressing L2. In Save the Earth, you could also unlock the camera by pressing R3, however, this does not work in Unleashed. The reticle was also removed.

Wow that's awesome! More unused content showcases of Unleashed please.
I'll see what else I can dig up!
This is neat and all, but there's something funny to me about Godzilla 90s and Anguirus just both deciding to jump Destoroyah.
1:08 CRITICAAAAAAL MAAAAAAASSSSSSS
honestly kinda better than the final camera lol.
Holy shit that would have been awesome
If you're not allowed to confirm this it's no problem, but are there any plans to include this in Save The Earth Melee? love how the camera works here. I think it'd make controlling the kaiju a lot more immersive than if it was in a fixed unchangeable position like the vanilla camera
It will be in STEM! You can actually activate it in the demo by creating a profile called "3P CAM" or by playing with only one monster. In the next version of STEM, it will instead be available as part of the settings menu and will work even in 3 and 4 player matches.
@@DylanRocket That's great to hear! I'm definitely hyped for it now haha
Hey dylan! I am starting to dabble into GUPS2 modding, I presumed the way this was done is in camera_settings.txt and so modified a few values to test it. However the built iso was smaller than the original, and completely refused to boot. I was wondering if I could get some assistance with this? Thanks!
Hello! The smaller size of the iso is normal (between 900 MB and 1 GB). As for the iso not booting, I recall someone else had the same problem and they fixed it by selecting "ISO9660 + UDF" as the file system in the options tab. I discovered that GU doesn't seem to use the default camera mode defined in camera_settings.txt (though STE does whenever only two characters are present). I had to make the following pnach code to replace the GU story camera with the STE OTS one:
[OTS Camera]

@@DylanRocket Fascinating... Thank you very much for this information!
Can you answer a question? Where is the file to leave the camera like this in the Godzilla Unleashed Iso? I would really like to know, if you can help I would appreciate it
Hello, add this to PCSX2's GU pnach file (file should be in the cheats folder and be named "SLUS-21707_179470B4.pnach") to get the OTS camera to replace the story camera:
[OTS Camera]
description=Replace story camera with OTS camera

Thank you very much!
One question, can I transfer this modified iso to OPL on PS2?
@@danraptorworld2477 No problem! As for OPL, I'm not sure since I've only modded the game on emulator. If it has a feature that lets you use pnach codes, I think it would work, otherwise you'd need to patch the SLUS executable itself with a hex editor or maybe another program.
@@DylanRocketthank you very much!
1:08 is that a unused critical mass sound for unleashed too?
It is!
@@DylanRocketwhere’s the source of the sound? I’d like to use it for something XD

1:28 were the rage attacks in the PS2 version or is that a mod?
It's a mod. The rage attacks are in the files, but the inputs were disabled. There is a single rage attack that can be used without mods though. If you enter critical mass as Baragon and burrow underground, you can use his rage attack because the developers forgot to disable the underground input for it.
*Hello there!*
General CamoFlash7!
because the monster designs of the ps2 version are not the same as those of the wii??
Cool.
Does the ps2 version have a "beam clash" mecanisime?
If yes, does it work like STE or WII Unleashed?
It does. It works like STE.
Is there a patch I can get for widescreen or did you do this manually?
I had to make the widescreen patch myself, but if you'd like to use it, copy and paste the following into a file called "SLUS-21707_179470B4.pnach" in the "cheats" folder:

Hey I'm sorry for my bad behavior, I wanted to come back to the server because I really love the pipeworks trilogy. I promise I won't do that shit again
Hi friend. How can I download this game on pc?
Oh Hey DylanRocket Can I Tell You Something Can You Please Play The Game Of LEGO Star Wars Skywalker The Saga PS4 Because You Play Star Wars Right
Thanks for the suggestion! I don't really do regular playthroughs on my channel anymore though. I don't think many people would be interested in watching them without any commentary. If I ever start doing commentary, I'll keep Skywalker Saga in mind.
Oh Okay 👌
