      There isn’t much substance to any “public records,” in my critical opinion.
      Ever notice that with rare exception, the device/structure/ method is recorded, but the manufacturing process and tools are not mentioned?
      Everyone claims to say how something was constructed, and that is the way it has to be, because the did not have what we have today, blah, blah, blah.
      Funny, I have moved some pretty good sized pieces of equipment around, and the materials they move that require that equipment.
      I have yet to see one of two things:
      A record of the construction that describes the tools and equipment used to construct the edifice/monument/arena/power plant in any written record.
      A monument near such as listed above that has examples of those same tools to be in display for the masses to marvel at while visiting said list of places.
      Sure, the several pyramids around the world were built out of carved stone.
      Do we truly know what they used to build it with???

      - no razor blades
      - no deodorant
      - no soap/ no shampoo (maybe a basic laundry detergent derived from lye if you're lucky)
      - no hair straighteners, no hair dye
      - no hair grooming products
      - no toenail clippers
      - no toothbrushes/ no toothpaste
      - no contraceptives
      - no condoms (altho they still had syphilis!)
      - no treatment for syphilis, either
      - no toilet paper/ no wet wipes
      - people showered maybe once a month if they were lucky, while working in hot fields in the summer and freezing weather in the winter
      - working in fields and dirt all day
      - no nail spa

      I used that last year when I visited the ROM before it was unceremoniously shut down by Ford. It was a best guess on how it worked based on descriptions but practically it would not have worked too well as it would go out of alignment after a few 100 meters of turning and rough terrain.
