People do NOT like AI almost across the board and thats a good thing.

Interesting thoughts. I remember when the first superb string libraries hit the market someone said: "A great string library can make you sad, but a live orchestra can make you cry". I hope the human element keeps a place as we move forward on that exiting journey. I think AI is one of the few topics where you can be both in favour and against it :)

if spotify are using AI to make songs in styles to take 100% of the revenue... why wouldn't people go on the AI music producer and make their own songs and playlists without spotify? download to their computer directly?

If younger people are genuinely satisfied with consuming cheap low quality AI generated content, that's their business - whether that is music or videos or games or written articles or news etc. If people are content to live their lives in a generic AI consumption world, it remains to be seen what that does to our society. It's like a "McDonalds-ifcation" of society. I have a feeling eventually there will be a backlash against this kind of cheap mass market low quality AI generated content world, where people will get bored of it and seek out authentic real experiences with real people and real artists (and real writers and real content creators etc.).
Cheap low quality generic mass market experiences have been around for a long time: in fast food, elevator muzak, ear buds, fast fashion clothes & shoes, etc. When you're young and you don't have much money but you have a lot of free time, then cheap generic mass market experiences are more appealing. As you get a little older, you start to have more money and resources at your disposal and less free time, so your taste & expectations go up dramatically, and you seek out more authentic and immersive experiences. Every market has tiers: low market, mid market, high market, luxury market. Perhaps cheap generic mass market AI experiences satisfy more of the low market tier, but then as taste & expectations rise the real authentic immersive experiences are needed to satisfy the mid market and up?

I wouldn't worry about automatically generated ai background music on spotify. Someone (probably China) will release a free one that anyone can use, just like what has happened with deepseek.

Artistry through the eyes of humans takes TIME to develop through individual artists lives. AI saves time, emotion and feelings and gets right to the thing that isn't art, but a product. Just like you wouldn't use your 3D printer to make a replica of a Neuman microphone.

Just as people grew numb to caring whether a DJ auto synced a mix, so to will people not care whether a human or AI created a 3m track.

Thanks for the video, you did cover a lot of the issues using AI (the good and bad), I have personally decided not to use AI as a tool for further projects until the legal copyright side of things is resolved. All my music is created using hardware and then arranged in the box but I did try AI for voice samples on my last album, I wanted to see what all the fuss is about, as a fun experiment. I wouldn't recommend publishing anything further using AI.

Not worried about A.I . Just as long as we don't see a robot djing in front of a crowed.. That will be the day that an artist will in trouble .. Otherwise its all good .. 👍

Ai training on other songs tbh makes no sense as bases to be controversial and a must to provide credit or money to artists. How did you learn music? by listening to other music. And that goes for anything in life ,business, jobs, arts etc… yes, ai has changed music production forever. In all honesty, it was always about marketing and if you ever wanted to make it - whether now or before 99.9999999% you had to be signed to a label as an artist (Indy at first or if you got lucky a major). AI is here and not in 5 yrs. Music industry was and always will be a challenging business as it’s personal and subjective. If you make music because you enjoy it, than it doesn’t really matter - on the other hand if you want make money as a business from music, emotions out the window and ai is your best friend. It’s evolution. Best example is uber, taxi drivers complaining about non licence cars, experience etc.. now everyone is a taxi driver and just the norm. Yes, it is hard to watch and see something you worked for being changed to the point that anyone is able to do it. Making money from music production when you are in the top tier (working with top artists with artists that are signed with majors etc..) that is where money is. that is not to say that you or others can’t do the same, but you have no connections or din ry hard enough or simply didn’t get lucky. My 2 cents

to much of something is poisonouse,a.i if not controlled will make all our visual tech useless, too many movies, too much music, anything a.i should only be recognised if there is atleast 80%human,that way human creativity will not stop

Es gibt bereits technische Wege, um AI generierte Musik zu identifizieren. Deezer setzt dies nun ein. Solcher AI Content wird den Nutzern nicht mehr vorgeschlagen.

Not all AI music services are alike, Suno and Udio go to great lengths to train their services without a direct copy of an artists music. Essentially they work very similar to how we learn music and how everyone is inspired by those that came before them. Unfortunately there will be many more services that will cut corners and do direct copy those will be what cause all the issues. As far as paying the original artist that is a difficult one as mentioned all current music is based on what came before it.

From a philosophical standpoint i dont believe AI is stealing anything, its just transistors trained on other music just like our brains neurons are trained and inspired by other peoples muisc.

The maker of the AI programme is responsible for the what data set is fed into the neural network. Obviously AI isn't an independent agent (yet), but the makers of AI are and can therefore be held to a higher ethical standard. As they should.

    • @Grant82gc

@FunnyVidsIllustrated apply that logic to a music teacher showing a student a piece of music and training them how to play it. Then imagine the student being inspired what they have learnt and then making their own creation.

    • @FunnyVidsIllustrated
      @FunnyVidsIllustrated День назад +3

@@Grant82gc reducing the all encompassing technological advancement in ai, which is propelled by conglomerate capitalist ideals and comparing it with incremental human to human teaching and interpersonal inspiration is such a gap in philosophical dogma that it’s hard to entertain. It’s like explaining the moon landing to a 5 year old, all the nuance that makes the ai revolution a significant, transformational and disruptive force gets lost in your analogy. I simply disagree man, but I appreciate your perspective.

Yes!!! it's starting to unfortunately :(
It will get to a point that you can put a brief description of what you want a song to be into the program and press a button and it writes, sings, generates melodies that fit, mixes and masters the song for you.
Good bye singers (you've tested the AI singer with great results)
    Good bye mix engineers
    Good bye master engineers
AI can scan all the songs and create a melody that's not being used.
It use to be that good artists/producers only had access to acapellas and stems.
But now AI can do a good job of extracting vocals out of a song which now every man and his dog can get anything for remixing which could be good as there's good bedroom producers out there BUT there's alot of bad ones too so you'll get way more dogy songs.
We don't need to pump out songs all the time.
    Quality over quantity!!!
Conclusion: AI can be good but the bad heavily HEAVILY outweighs the good.
