I suggest using your skincare on your neck like it's your face. As someone who is experiencing dry skin/ emerging eczema in that area im learning how important it is to cover that area

for anyone struggling to get dirt out a wound, the chemicals/oils in a band-aid will lift them right out in less than a day.
I remember i fell and I was scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing with soap and water until I gave up, slapped a band-aid on there and in three hours all the dirt was lifted. man i wasted so much time trying myself. aahhaha

Girl, I know the pain you went through. I had a similar accident on my bike and scrubbed on hard gravel. My knee and shine got all gashed up. Just keep cleaning and changing your bandage. Oh, Neosporin helps too! Hope things gets better.

NOO SOPHIE! Don’t ever put anything to a direct open wound! If you had sand on the wound, wash it off with running water, and wipe around the wound. Poor Sophie! I’m sorry you had to experienced that! 😭 I was crying I did with you! Hope you’re okay!
Nurse here!! If you get another scrape like that, lay a towel under your leg and irrigate it with saline! It’s usually called “wound wash” or something like that at drugstores. :) Then apply a dry dressing overtop! ❤️

Sign up for a basic first aid lesson Soph. They taught us at school how to clean wounds, tie bandaids, CPR, and even how to put a temporary plaster until help arises if you break a bone. Life skills.
I think these lavender bundles should be my next hobby. So cool!

Pouring lukewarm water or saline solution when removing gauze helps it become less painful 🥰 hope the wound gets better 💕
tip of advice !! cold water actually does not sting !!! i've ripped half a nail, had scrapes and cold water doesnt sting compared to warm/hot water !!

i little tip if you have a wound and your really not doing anything let i air dry, if you cover it up everytime it will get sticky and you will re open the wound.

lavender also repells spiders! I usually make a room spray with some organic lavender essential oil from plant therapy--hardly any spiders :) will try these lavender bundles for my closet!

You should get saline wound wash for the next time you fall (which could happen again during skating).. it’s jut saline solution (salt water) and it’s a pretty aggressive stream to clean wounds that have sand or gravel.. I used to carry it all the time for bike rides, very handy and not as painful. You can get it at target it’s literally called wound wash.

Next time if you fall (i hope not), you should use saline water to wash your wound & then put on some neosporin!

I had a similar wound experience on my side after dirt biking and used the shower head to spray the dirt and rocks out it was TERRIBLE

girl hydrogen peroxide on open wounds was a regular occurence in my childhood!! (any polish people in the comments can you confirm that woda utleniona was a medicine cabinet staple, or was my babcia just evil) 😂😭
