- Join me for an action-packed weekend at Hooton Park as I compete in the 3rd round of the GXUK Championship 2024! It was a thrilling experience filled with close racing, tough battles, and valuable lessons.
Despite a DNF and a penalty that put me on the back foot, I managed to fight through the field twice, climbing from 11th to 7th and then from 15th to 7th in the final. Witness the intense rivalry with Russell Endene and Simon Fuller, and a dramatic crash involving three karts in the final race.
Throughout the weekend, I drove my best of the season and learned crucial setup techniques. Despite facing emotional blows, including a chain failure in Race 1 and a penalty in Race 2, the camaraderie and fierce competition made it an unforgettable event.
Highlights:
Battling through the field after a DNF and a penalty
Close racing and rivalries with Russell Endene and Simon Fuller
Dramatic crash involving three karts in the final
Perfecting the kart setup during Saturday testing
Emotional highs and lows, from mechanical failures to penalties
Sitting 6th in the championship standings, only 35 points off 2nd place

Great video - you, Brad and Mr Mango are doing a fantastic job of promoting GXUK seniors. Keep them coming please.
Thanks man. It’s a pleasure of a series to be in and a it makes the video a pleasure to make
@@AlexVangeenRacing see you in Wales, looking forward to joining in.
Really good video. The best one I’ve seen from you. It’s the perfect length - and I bet you don’t hear that often.
Thanks dude. And you’ll be surprised
Great video Alex, you can see the improvement coming through. Its nice to see a front runners perspective, vs my back of the pack racing haha
Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Amazing video Alex to quality 🏎️💨💪🏻
Thanks George. Was a pleasure racing with you
Great video Alex 👍
Tha is dude. Was an enjoyable process to make ❤
Thanks dude. In these situations I ruined my own luck. Next race will be great
Great racing mate, you’ll fine tune those small elements I’m sure, and will be onto the leaders v soon! 💪🏻
Best video you have done so far Alex.
That’s very kind thank you! I’m learning more and more each time I
Great video mate! Rotten luck in the races :-(
Did you not raise your hand up when your chain fell off and then again subsequently when you entered the pits due to nit being allowed to within your regs that mentioned or did you just forget to?
No idea I was too busy swearing and having a tantrum 😂
Man I have been watching you since your iracing vids and even raced against you a few times. Guess who else went from iracing to karting, yep me. Cool to see that I am not the only one who took the leap. It is just so much harder than it looks on video it's hard to put into words. Never heard taking hands off the wheel was a penalty though, we do that all the time.
Great to hear you have taken the plunge. Where and what toy racing? I have been karting for about 20 years though. Just never owners. This series is so good budget wise that it was worth taking the plunge for
@@AlexVangeenRacing I am in Florida and I have raced at 5 different tracks in the lo206 heavy class. It has been an amazing experience so far from being off the pace to winning a club championship to taking a massive shunt at a national race. I have been on a break due to a wrist strain. Now I am gearing up to get back on track to finish the season.
@@coreywhiting6850 oh wow that the Briggs and Stratton engine, 200cc 4 stroke. Basically the same as what we are doing. What chassis do you have?
Also wishing you a speedy recovery from the shunt
@@AlexVangeenRacing I have a Birel Art AM29 and an RY30, they have lost their popularity here as most of the fast guys are using American branded MGM or Coyote Chassis. I am probably going to move to an MGM next year to have better track support but I have been pretty happy with both of my Birels.
