    seeing people like you advocate for this topic is amazing. I was diagnosed with PANDAS when I was seven years old and it has been a fucking rollercoaster. I had hallucinations and my focus was severely Impacted. I had very bad insomnia and tics (I still deal with tics sometimes but they aren’t as bad now) among other things. I remember being so incredibly scared to tell anyone and pretty much all of my childhood I was going to doctors and I was always on a ton of medication and even as like a 9 year old I never thought I would ever get better. I thought there was something incredibly wrong with me. Luckily my family is pretty well off and we could afford most of the medication and treatment I needed and I’m so thankful for that. I struggled severely with it for about 6 years and I never felt like I was able to have normal a childhood because I was always worrying about medication and if I was going crazy. I eventually got a few doses of IVIG and have been in remission for about two years now and am so happy to have stumbled across this video. Thank you for spreading awareness about this it really does means the world to me

    Thanks so much Evie, for all you do to raise awareness for these conditions. As someone recovering from PANS, I am so thankful to see people raising awareness for PANDAS/PANS. It took me 4 years of misdiagnoses to finally find out what I actually had and get correct treatment for it. By advocating you are helping others have life saving information to help them get the answers they may need. The more people that are aware the faster people can get helped! I relate to the dilated pupils, that was a big sign for me looking back at pictures when I was in a flare.

    3:16 It’s weird how a certain level of anxiety makes tics worse, and a different level of anxiety makes them calmer. Its like you get jittery at first and they get much worse, then you get closer to paralyzing anxiety and they just disappear. Confuses me every time.

    Hello Evie! Thank you so much for shining a light on disability and what it’s like living with one. You’re an amazing advocate who’s inspired me a lot to advocate for myself in regards to my Tourette’s and other conditions.
    I don’t have a tiktok account so I can’t comment there, but I recently saw a tiktok of yours and have had this question for a while. what does dystonia feel like for you? Is it similar to the feeling of a tic in which you “need” to do the movement, or does it feel like it happens itself? Is it different for everybody?
    Again, thank you so much for being so amazing :)

    I also have tourette's except mine are the motor tics, not sure if they are the same as tourette's syndrome, mine are comorbid with ADHD and ASD, I also meow which is a verbal stiming which helps my anxiety and calms nerves in my body.

    • @DavidSmith-vz9uu
      @DavidSmith-vz9uu Год назад +1

      @@zaeblet_ yeah that's my confusion with tics and stims, I also have that trouble with the differences between tics and stims as well, sometimes I think the 2 are working together, when I looked up tics on Google it was saying tics are tourette's so that all makes me confused.

    • @DavidSmith-vz9uu
      @DavidSmith-vz9uu Год назад +1

      @@zaeblet_ yeah a lot of what you said sounds like me, I have tics everyday even in my comfort zone in my bedroom in fact that is when I seem to do it the most, I have facial twitches like eyes twitching and blinking and often while moving my head to my right side while twitching and doing a clicking in my Adam apple bobbing my Adam's apple up and down with muscles in my throat, that tic started back in 2006, also I trace objects with my nose like around a door for example by looking at my nose and tracing objects and I will trace objects 4 times and in groups of 4s, it's like OCD is combined with my tics. These tics get worse when I'm stressed out which is most of the time and I have 2 sided conversations with people in my past trying to explain myself to the people in my past and someone I don't know in person and that gets exhausting so that leads to the bad tics.
      I also do the typical stimming like hand flapping and rocking, skipping back and forth, pacing ect. And this is usually from releasing extreme pent up energy that I get on a daily basis from anxiety, anger, excitement, also head hitting from irritability.
      I also have the paralalia like you mentioned as well as echolalia. I can't spell very well:)

    • @CamilaAntelo2004
      @CamilaAntelo2004 Год назад

      @David Smith Tourette's syndrome is it's own diagnosis and Tourette's has it's own qualifications that you have to meet I think that one is that if you've had tics for a long time and it's been happening for most of your life then you may have Tourette's but if you have a completely different one like ASD, I also have ASD too and you may have only one tic because some tics can also happen with Anxiety,ADHD, and Autism spectrum disorder but it isn't considered to be Tourette's because you only have some and I did hear that it can take a while to be diagnosed with Tourette's because they need to know when you first developed tics

    Wow Evie, this was very interesting. It must have been difficult to bake cookies for the community and at the same time answer and read questions that, as you say in the video, are basic questions that people ask. literally almost always, it's true you baked these cookies last year in October I remember, I liked the story of your piercings that are now 8, and what about the woman who did them for you knows about your tourette's, I was surprised when at minute 6:10 you accidentally hit your mommy because of the tourette and your explanation about your dilated pupils the screen division was very cool I loved the edition and looking at your pupils is not so creepy because I know that it also happens to me frequently, I loved the final result of the cookies it was incredible and they look delicious that I wanted some 🤣🍪 🙈A year ago I met you on RUclips, not on Tiktok, not on Instagram, I went here until I greeted you in August, I liked it on my birthday, I love you so much, warrior, you are incredible and much more, you are very important in the community, we love you ❤️💚💜💛🍪✨🤗😘🥰🤟😇🧠🐼
